RE: Spring Maintenance

Should I take off the old or just put it over it? I was going to try to get the thicker stuff off but some of it is thin and I thought I could just put a layer on over it.

RE: Spring Maintenance

How long do you think silicone should last? Do you have a brand you like?

Spring Maintenance

We use our camper year round but I don't do to much to it during the winter. Took it camping this weekend and we have a lot of ants inside. I think they came in on the power cord because I didn't spray it this season. There were a lot of ants on it and around the place where it goes in the camper. I will take care of this with some ant baits this week. I also noticed that it is time recaulk the outside of our trailer. I always check the roof and touch up with dicor self leveling stuff. What should I use on the sides. It is an aluminum trailer. The stuff that is there is very hard and thin. I replaced the oven vent cover a few years ago and I think I put caulk on it than I needed to but it hasn't cracked yet like the stuff that is on it. I can't remember what I used then but I'm sure someone here can steer me in the right direction. Since it is so thin in most places, how important will it be to remove the old caulk? Thanks, Jeff

RE: Shower Leak

Did you get the splash guards from lowes or home depot or do you get them from an rv store?

Shower Leak

My Mom & Dad bought a KZ Coyote. They have had some problems with the shower leaking water onto the floor. It has a corner shower with a curtin. When they take a shower, the water seems to run down the wall of the shower and then run out at the corners. Sometimes it doesn't seem to be as bad as other times. I think that is because it might not be level (helps it run back in). Any idea of a better fix than setting the camper up unlevel? Thanks, Jeff

trailer brakes

When I unhooked my trailer the other day I forgot to unhook my emergancy brake cable. It pulled the pin. Before I installed the pin I walked back to the wheels and I didn't hear the buzz noise that I hear when the brakes are working. The battery was fully charged and the the brakes work when being towed. Any ideas?

RE: Phone Coverage

We are going to have to talk about what we need/want. I have a lot of nextel contacts and like being able to use it, I'm just tired of paying so much for so little. We don't get texting or anything. It seems like any new plan we get will be expensive.

Phone Coverage

My wife and I are thinking that we might switch cell phone providers. I have Nextel's right now. We pay about $90 a month but we don't have text or internet or anything. We have thought about Verizon or cricket. Does anyone have any input on these two.

RE: NC to PA trip

I have a park in Gettysburg that I can stay for free from Sunday night thru Thursday night. Everything else is open. I would love to do a loop. Maybe go up I-81 and come back I-95. My wife was wanting to go all the way up to Niagra Falls but I'm not sure that we have the money or time for that one. Thanks for the input. I'm going to let some more ideas come in and then we can map out where to go.
Thanks, Jeff

NC to PA trip

We are planning on going to Gettysburg, Hershey, and Amish country. We are in the early planning stages but plan to go in July. We will have up to three weeks to spend on out trip. We will be starting in the Charlotte NC area. I think that I have a park to stay at in Gettysburg. Everything else is open. I am going to look at trying to make some sort of a loop so that we don't see the same stuff twice. We like staying at state parks and NPS parks. We also like the regular campgrounds but they usually don't offer any history or nature things. Please let me know of any good parks and their location. I know this is a wide open topic but I'm looking for help since I have never been north of NC or western VA. We will be taking our 1 year old and 5 year old with us.
Thanks, Jeff

Bikendan, do you know what the price of the units are? I don't have a membership to Costco. If the price is right, I will have to find someone who is.

RE: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator Thread

Where is the best place to buy one a 2000i? I am interested in buying either this gen or a Boliy. I have found a good source for the Boliy. I thought that Sams Club used to carry the 2000i for around $550. They don't list them anymore.

Boliy 3600 or twin Champion 2000

I am looking at these two gens. Any input on which set-up will be better? If I run the a/c and use 2 2000's, is it louder than 1 3600?
Thanks, Jeff
