RE: Sewer hose vs Sewer Solution

Larry,
Everybody seems to have missed one very important part of your opening statement. Why in the world are you tasting what comes out of your Sewer Solution???
To answer your second post, you need to use water to do the macerating for you. Read your SS instructions.
I use the stinky slinky when I can, but the SS is very handy in situations where you do not have a 3" hookup.
Don't taste any more of that "stuff"

RE: Do you leave your baggage compartments unlocked?

I have had a cooler full of beer stolen one time, many years ago.
A couple of years ago, I heard about many portable generators being stolen in Quartzite. One couple was watching TV late in the evening and the TV and lights went out. They thought the generator had run out of gas so they went to bed. Guess what, the next morning they found out that was the wrong assumption.

RE: Mice

Hi Wendell got lots of nice Decon for you to eat! Enjoy!! I got lots of nice traps for you to eat at too! Oh, if I see you during the day you'll make great target practice for my pellet gun! On a serious note, be careful where you put the Decon. A friend of ours had their dog eat a whole box of Decon and about ten days later she almost bled to death. This little terrier only weighs about 16 pounds and somehow she lived. Don't know what effect this stuff will have on her longivity. I don't care how you kill your mice, just don't let your kids and pets get into it.

Blue Bird Motorhomes

Does anybody know of an owner's forum where I can research information on the Bluebird/Wanderlodge motorhomes? I am considering purchasing a 2001 40 foot coach and would like to get more info from present and previous owners. I tried to PM a member on this forum who owns one, but he does not accept PMs

RE: Thousand Trails, Florence Oregon @@@@@

We tend to be rule followers...but,
Why not just go pick up your friends and drive back to your site and have your visit...This way they won't have to drive into the campground and pay the "visitor's fee."
Don't ask, don't tell.
I would have to pay the $9.00 to get into TT just to pick them up. The security people will not let you in wihout paying.

Thousand Trails, Florence Oregon @@@@@

We are staying at a private RV park in Florence, Oregon and friends of ours are staying at Thousand Trails down the road. We had our friends check on the proceedure for us to come visit. They were told $5.00 per car and $2.00 per person would be charged when we arrive at TT. What's up with that? I have never been charged to visit anybody in any RV park.
Very unfriendly, if you ask me. This would discourage me from wanting to own a membership at TT, if this is the way my guests would be treated.
So much for "Happy Hour"

RE: best RV park to stay in Sparks NV trust u more than reviews

I think the name of the nice place in Sparks is Sparks Marina RV Park. I have never stayed there, but have driven through it just to look, it looked pretty nice. I didn't need a place to stay since I live in the area. See what others have to say.

Every time I think I have seen it all, somebody will come up with something even weirder. Different strokes.

RE: MT Rushmore RV Sites

Our club had a rally a few years ago at a nice small rv park owned by a nice young couple It was called Crooked River or Crooked Creek and was located in Hill City. Close to attractions. Nothing fancy but full hookups and reasonable.

RE: Have you ever been asked to leave? (no not an RV Park)

I set up at a place marked Narrows VA Campground. A cop arrived that evening and said I couldn't camp there. He said it was only for tents and they didn't allow RV's. I pointed out that the sign didn't say that. He said "Yeah, I've been trying to get them to change that." He made me move. I didn't want to make a scene.
Never argue with the cops, you will lose.

Air pressure multipliers

Has anybody had any experience with Air Pressure Multipliers? I know that the Les Schwab store in Junction City, OR. has one for about $400 and they claim it will take 80PSI input ant give you 160PSI output. I was just wondering if any of you have used one and what you thought about it.
It sure would be handy if it works as advertised. My front tires take 125PSI and it takes forever to bring them up when they are only a few pounds low.
I am sure there will be a fair amount of discussion on this subject and perhaps there is something available for less $$$$$$ that works just as well.
Just FYI I do have a stand up air compressor in my garage that is rated at 150PSI and it also is very slow to top off my tires.

RE: Grand Canyon's "Trailer Village"

Go during the Winter time and you don't have to worry about RV crowds. Of course the local animals are there to keep you company.
The sites are fairly small and basic but we still prefer to stay in the park than outside of it.

I would not call the sites small. I had a 40' coach towing a car, and I think I could hae parked a similar rig behind me

RE: Hwy 50 thru Nevada and Utah

Near the border with Utah there is a small town of Baker, NV. which is just south of Hwy 50. They have a full service RV park. From there you can take a short trip to Lehman Caves and take a tour of some little known but beautiful caves. Also drive up to the end of the road on Wheeler Peak which is 13,000+ feet, but don't do that with the motorhome. We stopped in Baker a couple of years ago and only stayed one night. Would like to spend a couple of more nights there and explore the area a little more. Everything that others have mentioned about the highway are true. Good road and some interesting things to see.
I too will miss the shoe tree.

RE: Way around the $75 limit?

I carry a Visa card that is not active and go inside and leave that as I fill up. Then I go inside and pay with another card. That way I don't have to worry about unauthorized swipes and/or other misuse. It isn't like I couldn't use the excercise, especially if I have been sitting on my ( ) while driving.
Good idea but will not always work. Some stations charge a random amount before you get back out to the pump and then they deduct it (hopefully) when you come back in to settle up. That way they verify that your card is good.
I was told all of this by the attendant at a station that I frequent.
