RE: Towing a 2009 Mini Cooper 6 speed
Some of the new standard trannys do not turn main shaft for lube when in neutral, this can result in bearing failure. Some people over fill tranny and hope for splash lube.

You might be able to use plastic tank from later model. Check salvage yard, maybe minor mods to tank outlet system.

We drove 45 for the heck of it , not bad. That was our route to Pensacola years ago , before 55 or 65 interstate. All 2 lane then. Traffic was light and we made good time , maybe an hour or 2 longer drive time, but much better scenery.

This year we had to request 3 times that a receptacle be changed out. Found them to be burnt from poor fitting plugs and careless RVers unplugging without turning off the power. Nothing will ruin your plug faster than drawing a load from a damaged post.

I have 6 years on an Optima deep cycle. We can still dry camp for 3 days with enough juice left to start the generator if needed.

I have used the same filter for 5 years, have two mounting brackets. One on outside wall near city water fill, the other in storage bay for traveling. Also have caps to keep critters out when not in use. There are more upscale filters that will fit that housing also.

We have always use paraffin to lube the zippers on our tents and screen houses. Worked great, last awhile also.

RE: 30 amp shore line getting burnt ?
I had to have campground maintenance replace post female outlet twice on last outing. Too many people unplug and plug in with power switched on. Burnt socket will cause burnt plug.

Glue on adapter would not work on mine even if I could find it. No room is in sealed compartment and does not have clearance. Nearest dealer with any stock is a long way from me, not cost effective to drive 50 miles round trip, when hardware store is 1/2 mile away.
