RE: Information Discussion for Gate Guards

I am supplementing my income with GGing and not sure that this would be another wise decision to catch and sell!!!
I have seen the program on TX Rattlesnake roundup or hunting and one segment was on a friend of mines ranch near Brackettville.
I just want to make a hat band and maybe a guitar strap...Not sure how to cure them though. Anyone with know how? Soak the skin clean of all meat in anti frezze for one week and then
wipe clean with rag and stretch out on board and use pins or thumb tacks to hold in place and let dry then rub lightly with any type of oil and it should be workable I have cured many like this and the scales will hold on never rub against the scales. If you have acess to glacol it works good also

When I traveled Hwy 181 going to San Antonio Monday, I saw a few rigs and also fracing sites along the Hwy above Karnes City. Are these all Marathon sites? Looks pretty busy in that area.Go to drilling ahead it will show all rigs working they list all rigs state by state and go to tx they show drilling or riging down Marathon had four running last week

RE: Information Discussion for Gate Guards

Hey Gate Guards! Are you going to "tip" your service people for Christmas?
Who are the service people you are referring too? We have a person that brought us out to our assignment and has been here once in a months time to change oil in generator.
There is a guy with the fracking crew that puts diesel in our generator powered light as needed. That is all we know other than the workers that come in and out daily. who are you working for

RE: Information Discussion for Gate Guards

WOW...sounds like a different world out there at some gates!! We feel so fortunate to be with our rig...Conoco and Trinidad doing the drilling. We have been treated so good right from our first gate with them over a year ago. We are always treated to their meals(Catfish and Shrimp this last week..YUM)and the salesmen all know us by now, too.(We got a another big sliced ham a couple of days ago and hats are coming in for the Hubby. Lots of treats this time of year. Of course, I am giving out my treats also to everyone!!working for loma now ggs never gave us nothing for t day or xmas but loma takes care for all holidays turkeys and hams and all the trimmimgs and five hundred dollar bonus for xamas thanks loma

RE: Texas Gate Guards

Well, we enjoyed one of the benefits of gate guarding tonight..Rib-Eye Steak w/ Broiled Shrimp, Real Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans and salad. I don't know what the dessert is..there's enough food in 1 meal for 3 meals for me. This our 3rd catered meal in a month..Conoco must be real happy with the rig hands!!Jealous.....We had that same catered meal every 3 weeks last winter and probably from the same caterer. Outstanding meal and like you said, enough for 2 more meals for each of us....Lucky you.
Hey texan where you at have not seen nothing of you posting lately is every thing ok

RE: Texas Gate Guards

Blondie, are you contracting under Gate Guard, LLC Corpus Christi ?
We are gate guards located at Shiner, Tx.
Starting working for them Sept 2010.
Took 4 months off to go home to Ky,to work some more.
Hoping next summer to travel some and not work.
We had one gate that was almost that busy.
You really do earn the money on busy gates, almost wore our camper door out,(and legs). It was hard to find time to eat when on duty.
Yes, we work for GGS. We are in the Whitsett - Peggy area. We have been with the same rig since we started in Oct 2010. We took one month off this summer. We'll be parked at the Whittset compound next Friday, ready to go back with our rig from last winter. Less than 48 hours and counting....LOL.
We are 5 miles east of the GGS yard off 1091.Talked to George Luna this week and he said our rig is in the Cuero, Yorktown area, so guess that we'll be back in Cuero for the winter....:B
