RE: Williston Wal-Mart cracking down...

Poor middle class American folks. Our backs are about broken. Between subsiding generations of slobs, we are expected to contribute to corporate's bottom line by way of tax abatements and give aways and on and on. It's not my responsibility to house the folk working in the gas fields in Nacogdoches County in addition to all of the responsibilities I bear for handouts ranging from big shots to kings of streets. I feel Walmart's pain of being taken advantage of. I do wish I had their ability to get local, state and federal "help". But that wouldn't be fair to the next person holding the bill.

RE: Illegal Parking

Oops, just read the whole thread again and saw the OP is indeed not shy and posted again after the opening post. My comment of "don't be shy" reads kinda snarky but it wasn't meant that way. Gotta watch those words! Thanks. Edited to add, looked at this thread a 3rd time and see I got the persons name really, really wrong. Credit this to bad brains.

RE: Illegal Parking

Gobozo shows caution when thinking about parking a RT. Red flags will go up like fireworks when you, gobozo, attempt to actually back out the beast. The times I must back out I literally stop while backing out and walk around back to reassess the situation if I have any concern. Of course I live in a rural area and almost exclusively visit other rural areas so I can do this w/o traffic concerns. It's trees I worry about. Should have ask for a backup camera for Christmas. When visiting small town, like Nachitoches, LA, I've parked in double spaces (pulling in and leaving the extra space in front of the van) on their narrow Cane River road w/o a problem with the width of the 2001 RT Versatile 200. I hope you post again, OP. Don't be shy.

RE: Natural Gas as Fuel

There's been lots of movement in the O&G sector as the big guys like Exxon buy up smaller energy companies (XTO) to gain access to shale gas. Foreign companies now own some of our NG too. http://shaleblog.com/2011/foreign-ownership-of-united-states-gas-shales/ I knew I'd get a variety of responses and am especially glad to read posts from those with real world experience in using Natural Gas as a fuel and from those who know engines. All perspectives are welcome.

Natural Gas as Fuel

Would you use Natural Gas in your Motorhome or Tow Vehicle? A barebones network of NG fueling stations is being rolled out as interest in his fuel is picking up. I wonder if RV usage would increase as this cheaper and cleaner burning fuel becomes available. http://www.gohaynesvilleshale.com/forum/topics/clean-energy-unveils-backbone-network-for-america-s-natural-gas

RE: Motor Home Specialists Texas

We looked there a while back and enjoyed the experience. General atmosphere of respect and dignity. Hustle and hassle issues so common in showrooms was just not there. I was thinking about Motorhomes Of Texas in Nacogdoches when I read the OP's question and my response reflected a visit to that facility. Very sorry for the confusion.

RE: Rear Door Window Won't Open in My RT?

I frequently popped open the rear window of my 2001/02 RT Versatile 200 (while parked of course), to aid ventilation. Use a shoe to leave it cracked open. Decided to use a branch to prop the window wide open and that was a mistake. Now the window hangs off the top hinge incorrectly and to close it one must lift up then push in the window from the outside. Requires some effort. This is a priority repair for several safety reasons.

RE: More Positive Press For The Class B Fulltiming Lifestyle :)

The latimes has an article on Sly I read this a.m. The comments section is informative. Amazing to think we could park next to Sly and be a neighbor. Just jump in the B and make it so. How thrilling that would have been 40 years ago! ::guitar riff:: yea yea yea yea yea yea yea yea

RE: Kinda makes you go 'Hmmmm...?"

Can only read the headline of the trifecta for sale but puleeze bay opportunist, give (very) marginally informed RV shoppers a break.

RE: Coldest winter in a Century coming? Store it or head south?

Bill in MD, Thanks for the info on Bernt Balchen. My daughter will be stationed @ Elmendorf in Nov and is a pilot for the AF. I look forward to hearing of her visit to the Bernt Balchen Museum in Anchorage. I just sent her a link, thanks to your information. She is .25% Norwegian. She may very well know of Col Bernt Balchen but I'm pretty sure she didn't visit that museum when spending a few weeks @ Elmendorf one summer. So I'm tickled to pass this on. Thanks again.

RE: Where will you be for the 4th?

Cut short a 3 day dulcimer workshop to be home for Air Force daughter, who rolled in last night. This weekend is all about family, I'm on hover detail!

RE: where are all you traveling B owners??

We take several small trips per year in our B. Twice this winter we stayed in a town ~ 100 miles away taking music lessons over 3 days. Did usual holiday travel in the B. Two weekends ago we were in New Orleans for the Crescent City Classic but stayed in the quarter in a hotel. Last weekend in OK for DD's graduation from pilot training for the AF. She got her wings! At night friends and family were scattered. Me and the dog in the B in a hotel parking lot and DH and DS sacked out in the hotel. Early June DH and I are attending the Hill Country Music Camp in Kerrville for a week, staying at a nearby park instead of the university dorms. We really love our Roadtrek for short travel and overnighting. We appreciate the comfort and convience and options.

RE: NO NIGHTMARES THIS RV SEASON IN MEXICO

The browbeating of Americans to come visit Mexico wasn't inviting in the first place. Then the true colors come out with the hatred of America and Americans in full display in several posts on this page. The statement finally saying Mexicns can't go outdoors from their homes, much less rv answers the question of whether or not to rv in Mexico. The stampede of Mexicans to America tells the world which country is most desirable. Slapping around Americans is a very bad idea.
