RE: Where should I carry the generator

I don't know the diminsions of your Yamaha genny, but if it will fit in front of the hitch in the bed, put it there. My Columbus fiver has a fold down rack on the back that will carry 400# so I can secure my genny there. Before I got the Columbus, I kept my genny in the bed in front of the hitch. I routed the exhaust above and out of the bed. I have a 1/2" cable that I use to secure it to the hitch.
Worked well for me.

Considering a Vizsla

We're considering getting a Vizsla. Anyone know of a GOOD breeder? I'm concerned about finding a quality breeder.
Need a companion for our Treeing Walker Coon Hound.

Anyone at James Island this weekend?

Came down for the weekend to attend a wedding. Haven't been here for a couple of years but it's just as nice as we remembered.
Stop by site 39, or is it 38, for a cigar if you're in the neighborhood.

RE: LP Gauge?

As mentioned above, use one tank until it's empty, then switch over to your other tank.
Unless you have the optional 30# tanks, you have 20# tanks which is handy because you can either have them refilled or swap them out at your local super market.
I installed a gauge on my tanks on my previous fiver. Didn't work well and actually retricted the flow. Monitor what gas you use to get a better idea on how fast it goes down. I run my water heater and fridge on electric while at a campground or with my generator. I have a ceramic space heater in the bathroom and an electric heater in my fireplace to offset the chill and save gas.
BTW, nice floor plan in your TT.

RE: Why is my dog eating cat poop?

Our treeing walker coon hound also likes to treat herself to the kitty litter box so we bought one of these:
Top Entry Kitty Litter Box
Seems to work well and the cat doesn't know the difference.

RE: Height from bed rails to bottom of 5th wheel

Rule of thumb is 5" - 6", with 6" being safer.
How much do you have?

Sounds like an awesome weekend. We tried getting in the other weekends in May, but they were full at Crosswinds.
Have fun!

RE: Do you OPEN carry while camping with others?

As mentioned, I worry about the person who carries a concealed weapon illegally with alterior motives than a person who legally carries open or concealed.
That's why I prefer concealed carry.

RE: Campground Recommendations - Raleigh, NC

If you want a "nice" campground, I would suggest the Smithfield KOA. It is about 30 miles from Raleigh via an Interstate. There are many restaurants and shopping nearby, if that's important.

RE: EOS..Engine Oil Supplement

Haven't experienced it personally, but have read about it in Hot Rod & Car Craft.
I've used Z-Max with success on some engines to add a little more Zinc to the crankcase. Won't use it in my Cummins, though; might mess up my paticulate matter convertors or diesel cat cons. Besides, I've had good luck with Amsoil.

RE: Towing With 2012 Tundra

Get a good hitch and you'll be good to go.
Your Tundra will do well with that trailer.
Good luck.

RE: Is corrosion an issue in Florida?

A lot depends on where in Florida.
When I lived in St. Augustine, driving on the beach was allowed. I've seen vehicle less than one year old coming in with a rust covered chassis.
There are areas further inland, though, that don't have as severe a rust problem and areas along the coast.

RE: Heavy duty shocks, super springs or both for truck?

Your shock absorbers are not responsible for the ride height of your Tundra, unless you get air shocks. But don't do that.
I have Firestone air bags on my TV to help level the truck and keep the headlights down. The nice thing about them is they can be adjusted according to your load.
Click here to check them out: Firestone Airbags for Toyota Tundra
BTW, you're pretty close to your payload capacity.

RE: Where not to camp

I agree that you should get a refund, especially being that reservations were made the same day.
That being said, I looked on their website and they state in a few places that there is no refunds on any payments.
I ran into this with a KOA so instead of losing my deposit, I just rescheduled the date to June.

RE: Best TT tires?

I agree with the Maxxis ST tires being good.
I have been reading good things about Kumho ST tires, but they're limited to 14" tires only.
Be sure to have your new tires balanced.

RE: Vibration in towing vehicle

Is this a two piece drive shaft? If so, could it be out of phase? I've experienced this when the front and rear shafts aren't lined up properly.
60 mph, could be a tire balance problem, too. Is it felt in the steering wheel or in your seat?
Just an idea.
