RE: Kitchen located on a slide. Good or bad?.

my unit has complete kitchen in the slide. 4 yrs and no problems. my lines are flexable ones and everthing is good. It has been moved in/ out all these times and had zero issues. fridge is good and had no problems with the circulation of venting out the top. But some people with the bigger fridges in there slides have had some. bigger higher priced trailer have a larger house size fridges and do not vent good in the slides.

RE: drill question

one person at the cg we were at bought a used 1/2 electric drill at a garage sale and uses it to raise and level his trailer with it. Raised the tires right off ground. he had an older and shorter trailer 24 foot. The older frames will take the stress and not bother anything. He just carries an extention cord all the time(but don't we all carry an extention cord?).
I would do that also but my new lightweight 34 foot would look like a banana if I did it that way.
I did that to level with my old 76 prowler.Only I used the tongue jack (up and down) to level mine with tires off ground if needed.

RE: Wide track axels

I have wide stance axles. It tows like a dream, but there is consider tire flex when cornering. It's not uncommon for one axle to look as though the tires are about to come off. The first time I towed with this RV, I was a bit nervous when I stopped for fuel and saw my back tire.
I am in the same situation as you...took some getting used to but the stability while at speeds is nice to have. The smooth ride is nice too, not much moves inside the TT while under way, we leave stuff on the night tables and don't have to worry about a yard sale when we arrive. I figure the stability while under way (99% of the trip) probably outweighs the extra stress while tight manouvering (other 1% of the trip)
I have to agree with the percentages, I've had mine 4 yrs and no problems. If it was on a trailer that you used for work in the city, tight street turns daily, then i would be alot more concerned.

RE: Heartland North Trail Trailer Tires

The best choice is to upgrade to LT tires if it is possible. JMHO :)
Yes to this as a lot of people have switched to LT tires. Even companies that have construction trailers. When I replace mine, I will be going to truck tires. if I can find the right weight limits for 14 inch

WE have a north trail 31 QBS quad bunk house. And love it for the second dinnette in the bunk house. folds down for the 4th bunk.
Also some pics of inside it.
When done campin with the Grand kids, we can use bunk house for storage area. GVWR of trailer is 6,900 #. nice unit with lots of room. Has a 16 foot slide but only comes out 15 inchs.

RE: Hauling with the windows open?

I have 3 max air covers. My vents stay open all the time while traveling and never have dust problems. In the hot sun the heat inside builts up quite a bit. i ventalate and when setting up inside trailer is cooler form venting. i even leave them open while in storage. When i travel on dusty gravel roads. I pull over and close them then. but only then
