RE: V-Lite Maiden Voyage

We own the Keystone 27' VR1, and we are really sold on that large front bath also. The storage up there is incredible. I think we will always have that "V" bathroom no mater what make of trailer we may have in the future. Nice trailer, by the way.

Mother's Day

Little Johnny was in the first grade. Every single day, without fail, he would tell his classmates about the new brother or sister that would be coming into the family soon. One day, while at home, his mother called to him and placed his hand upon her abdomen while the baby was doing some incredible gyrations. She was somewhat surprised that Johnny did not have a comment, but after feeling the baby move, just quietly walked away. From that day forward, Johnny never again mentioned anything to his classmates about the upcoming brother or sister that he was expecting. After several weeks, the teacher, fearing the worst, called Johnny aside and said "Johnny, I noticed that you have not said anything about your new brother or sister in quite some time. Is everything alright?" Johnny replied with a very sad voice "I think my mom ate it"

RE: towing - special hitch

All of the opinions stated on this subject are absolutely correct!! I own a Subaru, and I don't even think a "large" tent camper would tow well.

RE: Fridge not working

As mentioned, it will take a lot more than two hours for it to get cold. Before you get too carried away, plug it in overnight and check it in the morning.

RE: Fall Creek Falls, TN

This park is one of our favorites. I love the golf course and the falls. (Highest east of the Mississippi)..........As was mentioned earlier, arrive during the week and check out the "E" loop. That is also our favorite. We will go down a couple of times in the fall after school starts because it is so quiet during this time.

RE: Campgrounds near Chicagoland Speedway (Joliet, IL)

I am not sure how close to the track it is, but there is a very nice state park just north of the city. It is Illinois beach state park. We visited there for a few days last summer while attending graduation at the Naval Training Academy. A pretty nice state park........No pool though. Swimming is Lake Michigan which is very clean now.

RE: Pests

The best way to get rid of any pest is to round them up, take them to a movie and feed them plenty of popcorn. When they get up to get a drink, leave.

RE: Diesel MPG?

Hey, guys, wait a minute: we already have to compete with the rest of the world for diesel fuel, a major reason it is so expensive. Why on earth try to convince a nay-sayer to join THAT competition??? Nay, OP, yer 100% right. Stick with gasoline. It's way better. Cheaper by the gallon. Goes LOTS farther, too. Ignore those dieselheads, they're all idiots. "Stupid is as stupid does"

RE: Article on NPS restricting access

Pretty good example of our government's crisis management procedure. 1. Panic. 2. Assume the worst. 3. Make a hard and fast rule. 4. Put somebody in charge. OOPS. You leftout what should be #1. Have a series of offsite meetings to discuss the issue.

RE: FLAT TIRE!!!!!!

I have always used a 4 ton bottle Jack......It also comes in handy once in awhile when I can't quite reach the truck hitch with the tongue jack due to elevation.

RE: Indiana - I70 east of Indianapolis?

Your best bet is Summit Lake State park, just north of New Castle. It is about 20 minutes north of I-70. This is a very nice park with good facilities. There is also a very nice family run RV center at New Castle (Walnut Ridge). They also have a campground with all hookups, but probably not suitable for large gatherings.

RE: gas mileage

There is no way you will ever recover the cost of buying a diesel. I have a Ford 6.4 Diesel which I love, but towing our 27" VR-1, my mileage is about 11-12 MPG. That would take a lot of towing to recover the cost of a new Diesel. I moved to an F350, primarily because our old F-150 was being driven by the trailer a good part of the time and I wanted a larger Chassis to eliminate that, which it did. Gas mileage was not a factor in our decision.

RE: Spic & Span plus Bleach for Roof Cleaning?

Not sure I would use bleach on the roof. Bleach affects the fundamental properties of so many things. I can't be good for rubber or Vinyl.

RE: JAYCO Legacy 5th wheel Water Pump

Open a valve!!!!! Sam........ LOL!!!! OK Sam. Sometimes we can't see the forest for the trees...... I have owned TTs for 30 years, and believe it or not, this did not occur to me. I was so wrapped up in finding the darn pump that I did not apply logic to anything I was doing......DUH!!! Thanks everyone. Now leave me alone so I can figure out which end of this thing hooks to my truck.

RE: JAYCO Legacy 5th wheel Water Pump

No idea, but can you switch it on a listen for it? You can usually hear them running. Problem is, the bypass valve is on, so the water pump will not come on long enough for us to find it......Once it is up to pressure, it will not come back on until I can relieve the pressure

JAYCO Legacy 5th wheel Water Pump
