RE: Personal Question $$$

Financed mine in 2006..... I own my own business and things went south very fast! I financed it for 15 years with every intension of paying off in 7 years... well this didn't happen and it's upside down a few grand. Things are looking better and hope to double up payments soon but wouldn't trade the fun and memories for nothing!
If I did it all over again I would have kept my tt, it was nice but had to have the 5er. My father-in-law has NEVER owed anyone anything except for his houses that he pays off in less than 10 years. Sounds great but all those years every penny went to the mortgage and his kids grew up with a debt free dad that was always working! He now lives in Florida and has a very nice house (paid for) but wants to move back to North Caralinia to be closer to family.... No chance because he won't accept the fact that his house will never be worth what it was when he built it.
Moral of the story... try to live within your means and enjoy life now, whether it be with your kids, family.... whomever, tomorrow is not guarenteed so enjoy it!
For what it's worth my truck is paid for! and my daughter just got pretty much a full ride to college on a volleyball scholership and that 5er of mine got her to some of those tournements.

RE: Teenager At Home and RVing

We have an 18 year old that will graduate in a couple weeks. No chance at 15 staying home while we are camping. We want our kids with us whether they want to go or not. Our 18 year old daughter is very responsible but while she's in high school she's with us. I've camped with some that show up without their 15-18 year old and don't sweat it... to each their own but it wasn't that long ago... I remember, why put the temptation there??? We have had a couple "adult camping trips" but the kids were supervised.

RE: Slow market or what?

If you have the time and patience to deal with all the lookers it's the best way to go(selling yourself). See what the dealer will give you, then look on NADA, price it to sell if you need to move it fast, price it a little higher if your in no hurry. I agree with others... if you can get it to a good intersection one weekened you may snag a few people that will jump on it just because they saw it. Good luck!

RE: Aaron's 499

Nascar always has to mess with it! I know the intensions are good by Nascar and driver safety is always #1 but I for one liked Talladega when they flew by in packs and every lap you were on the edge of your seat because one screw-up and it could take out 20 cars. One of my favorite tracks was Bristol and they messed that one up too! It's just not the same and never will be but I still like watching, just won't give up a nice day to sit and watch the whole race. I watched the Talladega race in an hour....
They are changing Bristol back to the way it was.
Good to hear!

RE: Outback Steakhouse - Thumbs Down

Bypass them all, long waits and poor quality food for a jacked up price is the norm.
Better off going to Ruth Chris, Black Angus, or Cattlemen's if you want a steak house, TGI Friday's is better for parties, food's definitely better, though we lost all our ones in Oregon.
I like a good steak and have been to Mortons, Ruth Chris and some so-called great steak joints in the D.C. area... I get the Victoria Filet medium rare and a steamed lobster tail and it's always great! Best steak I ever had was at a little dive in the out-skirts of New-Orleans, the knife just fell thru the steak! Outback in Woodbridge,Va is ok by me...

RE: Running lights left on at night

I've done this at home while switching to led lights to check them. I've seen it at a few cg's, does look pretty cool. Although I probably wouldn't ever do it, it also wouldn't bother me.

RE: Need help with Florida hotel room....

Hey, thanks..... well things have changed, we have friends 1 hour from disney and there gonna bring their motorhome up to the Disney cg and leave it for my wife and daughter to use, can't beat that! Hate searching for hotels.... never can trust the reviews or the pics, although the ones mentioned here, at least one of them I had already called to check out. Thanks again! Jeff
Better off camping!

Need help with Florida hotel room....

My wife and daughter are going to a national volleyball tournement that will be in June at the ESPN complex at Disney. We already have planr tickets and just started the hotel search. Any ideas within 2 miles of Disney, all the hotels I look at seem nice but who knows??? They will be there 5 nights but will spend most of their time at the sports complex. Wish I could go and take the fifth wheel but that can't happenthis time. Any ideas would be great.... Thanks, Jeff

Pretty boring looking at the back of an rv or semi for that long, I like to look around and to save a few bucks not worth the risk

RE: Camping & Electronics

Yes, my kids bring their Xbox, iPod and me and the wife have our iPhones... We also hook the television up to satellite. What's the big deal??? My kids use the pool, play basketball, ride bikes.... But like everything else they get bored and that's when they play they Xbox or whatever. At night the younger ones are confined to the campsite so they will go in earlier than the adults and watch tv, play Xbox or my one son takes his Legos everywhere. To me camping is about relaxing and having fun, we do have rules but they don't change much from home.

RE: Tires for 2007.5 Chev. 3/4 HD 6.6L Duramax/Allison

Nitto durra grapplers here and Firestone and Uniroyal both make nice E load tires in highway and A/T treads.

RE: stabilizers for 35 foot fifth wheel

In my opinion JT's are the best. Combined with Rotochoks my 5er is rock solid.
Two friends liked mine so much they now have the same setup on their 5ers too.
Of course everyone likes what they have, the best. So it is all pretty much up to you!. X2, JT's and roto-caulks!

RE: wife worried about snakes

I've never been out west but have seen 1 snake in the 8 years I've been camping. I've read of people sprinkling stuff around their campsite but heard the copperhead will go thru anything you put down. Just keep a very neat campsite with not alot of things laying around that they can hide in or under. Use a light at night and like others already said the noise and vibrations you make leaving the camper might even scare them off. I've also read of things you can buy and stick in the ground and it will put out a vibration that will make them leave.

RE: Where will you be camping for Easter Weekend?

Capitol KOA in Maryland, right outside Baltimore. My daughter has a volleyball tournement at the Baltimore convention center so this cg works out great. Not a big cg but it clean and everyone friendly. We leave in the morning!
