RE: campground near okefenokee swamp

Thanks guys for the responses. We're just now in the process of planning for a spring time trip next yr. We were at the Okefenokee Swamp Park a few yrs back and want to take the kids there. Thanks again.

campground near okefenokee swamp

I'm starting to plan a trip down to Disney and will be traveling down 95. I was going to make a stop around Jacksonville Fl at a KOA but came up with the idea of possibly staying somewhere around Waycross GA to see the Okefenokee swamp. Any campgrounds in the area? I guess I could stay at the KOA and then go up to the swamp park but it looks like its about 65 miles backtracking. I figure I could jump off 95, stay somewhere around the park, then get back on 95 and head south. BTW, it would be 2 fifth wheels; one being 35', the other 40' and I would need full hookups along with easy access. Also there will be young kids coming so a playground would be nice. Thanks for any help

RE: 4 Point Level Up

We have the four point system and it works great. I see that some of you have a six point system and was wondering why there is a need for six? When we had our motor home that weights far more than our fiver we only had 4. Actually it levels with the 4 outside jacks and once level the middle stabilizer jacks come down and make it more solid.

RE: Best built toy hauler?

We looked at the Raptors, Cyclones, and KZ options out there. We liked a lot of them, but ended up getting our new 2012 Voltage which we absolutely fell in love with!! It's all in what floorplan and how much you are willing to pay for the best quality that matches your family needs. Good luck!!

New Jersey Campground Ideas??

We were thinking of going to New Jersey sometime to stay at a nice family campground. Any suggestions and ways to go without hitting all the tolls? We are from Maryland and visiting my cousins the other weekend, in just our dual-truck, we spent over 20 dollars...I can't imagine how much we would spend in tolls with the toy hauler attached--estimating 100 dollars??

RE: 3950 voltage epic package

Sorry to hear about your nad luck. Let them get it fixed and see how it goes from there. Other than a few minor problems ours has been good but we've only been in it for 10 nights and a 1000 miles so can't say too much yet. Maybe these will be the only issues you have. Good luck.

RE: First trip Voltage shake down

When you say "main toilet"... are you referring to the black tank and not the toilet itself? Little confusing here. If it is indeed your black tank you're talking about, yes it could be that the vent is plugged and not letting the air escape when water is coming in. Anyway, it sounds like your problem fixed itself. Ron Mpierce is correct. It has 2 toilets and the one I'm referring to is the full bathroom one. Yeah, I guess it was a clogged vent.

RE: First trip Voltage shake down

Yeah this thing is wonderful. A good wierd thing happened. I had problems with the main toilet only able to fill a third of the way up. On the second trip i filled the toilet till water was up in the bowl and then all of a sudden the water went down and since then has worked properly. I don't know but maybe a vent was clogged and let loose. All I know is that its working now. All the other problems are like yours, just minor things. At the last campground did give four tours. Never did that before :)

Passport Question about entering Canada from the U.S.

We would love to do a camping trip or two to Canada. I traveled to Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia many years ago with my family. At the time we just needed birth certificates for identification to enter Canada. I heard we now have to have a passport for each family member, even young children? I hear that passports are like 120 dollars each, and that would cost us approximately 500 dollars just in passports before paying for a vacation. Is there any other way around this if we just want to visit Canada once or twice? We can't justify paying that money when we might only go over there twice, if we traveled up there a lot then it would be worth it. Just curious for any tips! I love the atmosphere of Canada and would love to introduce the kids to a new place.

Jellystone Park, Natural Bridge VA.

We stayed at the Jellystone Park in Natural Bridge, VA. over this past Easter vacation. I just wanted to let everyone know that this was our first time staying at a Yogi Bear campground. We were super impressed with the rec staff that provided events every hour for the kids to be involved in, they go to know our kids and know them by name. If our kids were not so young, we would have gone back to our campsite, that is how trusting these highschool/college staff was. All of the camping friends we met were so friendly and the atmosphere of this campground was very pleasant & peaceful. It had a beautiful swimming lake, on the James River, and tucked away in the Shenadoah mountains. I would suggest this campground to anyone visiting the area and we will definately be staying here again!

RE: Campgrounds nearby for a Nascar Race

Thank you everyone for some great suggestions. This past year, we did camp down at Charlotte, NC at a local KOA to check out the Nascar Hall of fame (which was amazing!!-spent the entire day in there!) and saw the Lowes speedway. I will check out that website nascarcamping.com and see what else I can find. Yes, I do want to stay away from the alcohol-party related areas, I've heard stories from friends that I really don't want our kids to witness. The guy who suggested the Baltimore Grand Prix, that is different cars though right, not nascar? Just curious....thanks everyone for all the info.!!

Campgrounds nearby for a Nascar Race

My 4 year old son is very interested and we are looking at a possibly Nascar race in the near future. Nascar fans, any ideas on which racetracks are most suitable for family events and young kids to attend? We have just got into the sport and are not familiar--any info. would be greatly appreciated. Wondering also, campgrounds nearby tracks that are great for our family to stay at while our stay at the race.

RE: Duramax

Cousin has one of the new duramax's and has the low quality def light come on also. First time was a bad sensor. Light has come on again and is back in the shop. I'll find out what was the cause when he gets it back. One thing they did tell him is that he's not using it enough which to me is crap. He is only putting 1k a month on it but that should be plenty.

RE: Hauler picts.

Thanks. This thing pulls great. Did lose about 1mpg compared to my previous fifth wheel but then this weighs about 4000lbs heavier and I'm right around 25k when loaded with family and stuff.

RE: Where are all the young(er) TT/RV camping lovers?

We're 35 and 31 with a 2 and 4yr old. Like another one said, it could depend on the place you go to. We go to one campground and fit right in. Many are in our age group. Other places we go to, we're the youngest by far. I think much of what your seeing is that camping is not free and many are just focusing on paying the bills.
