RE: K&N Air Intake

I have the Airaid cold air intake on my 2006 Dmax (it came like that) Can anyone tell me if there is any difference in the Airaid Cleaner and Oiler Kit or can I use the K&N cleaner kit on Airaid filter? What is in the cleaner?

RE: How will this tow? Opinions Please!

I will leave my old sig up at the bottom so you will see we have a lot in common, including living not that far apart.
The truck in my sig had 4:10 rears,6.0 liter gas, the trailer loaded was always under 10,000 lbs. I had twenty thousand kilometers on it all across Canada and the US. I also weighed the entire rig front axle/rear axle empty and loaded and still have the weigh tickets.
In my opinion that was on the absolute top end for weight for the 2500HD. I would not try anything over 10,000 lbs for the same set up.
This was our experience.Hope this helps you decide.
I still have the fifth wheel but have since up graded to a 2006 3500 Duramax/Allison.
PM me for more detail if you wish.

RE: Need help finding a full time RV

This was posted here a short while ago and while they say nothing about full timing I see a lot of things I like.
Such as the quiet air conditioner....

RE: Cleaning Your Motor

Gunk Engine brite
Cover air filter, electronic components. Spray it on, wait a few minutes, hose off with garden hose. Works great on Outboards. Will leave greasy residue on ground avoid doing this on paved or concrete drive.

RE: Emergency escape ladders

Sooo - more "brainstorming" is in order!
My thought is a solid bar above the window (maybe just below the valance) to grab onto and exit feet first with/without turning around.
Nice looking ones available in many lengths as handicapped hand-hold bars to hang onto in the bathroom of S&B homes.
I like that...or think of adding sturdy bar on the outside just above the frame and a fold down step or narrow platform a foot or so below the frame? Just thinkin out loud here....

RE: Just completed buying experience; 5 campers/6 dealers

Thank you so much for taking the time to post and doing so with such detail. Very timely as we have been looking/researching for six months. Our top two choices are Arctic Fox 990 and the Northern Lite.
Only the NL is available up here (as are the Adventurers). The DW really likes the brightness with NL skylight, I like the ease of use and faster quick stops for lunch, pit stops etc. Also a weight saving of about 600 lbs. Having said that I am leaning towards the AF for the extra room given by the slideout. Our hope is that when the time comes we can find a dealer in the west with what we want in a two or three year old trade in or repo and will finance. This is a bit of an upgrade from our 1976 9 ft. Osprey:)

RE: Auxilary fuel tank

I bought the 90 gallon diesel tank with tool box on top it will fit below your bed rails, from SBS if had it to do over would get the 60 gallon tank , cost way to much to fill up 90 gallon,
I agree, it is not often that you will need more than two fillups from you auxiliary tank. I had a fifty gallon tidy tank that I would only keep thirty five or forty gallons in. Tidy Tank make a low profile but with electric pump it may not fit under your tonneau.

RE: The NowShower

At first I thought nope, don't like standing in a pool of warm grey water, then I thought well maybe this would stretch the water when boondocking, then I noticed only works with 60 psi sooo nope not for me. Seems it would be an issue keeping the jet pump and piping clean as well?
But thanks for posting...interesting concept:)

RE: Thinking about a 5th Wheel Eventually, however.....

No leaks no problems with ours (27 ft Triple E Topaz) except for the lino cracking in the extreme cold and the dealer treated us well for that.
On your problems I am looking at a newer TC and have narrowed it down to Arctic Fox or Northern Lite......how the heck did you have so much trouble? Maybe I'll keep lookin:(
