RE: Itasca Horizon bedroom Ceiling fan shot, need new one

Now for the great news. You broke it good. After buying new bearings and carefully repairing mine I patted myself on the back. Only $20 or so for new bearings. Then a few days later. Tick, tick tick. Grrrrr.
I have spent many many hours trying to make that motor quiet. I have the brush thing down pat. My last go round I bought a new fan kit which came with a fancy multi speed control that wouldn't fit in the same hole as the nice little round one. No worries. I just sent it to someone that needed one. I swapped out my old blades and things and just used the new motor.
Now the great news. The new motor has been redesigned. It is apparent they have done something to the bearing holding area but don't know if more has been done. I had glued my bearing in place and the motor still ticked. I believe it is a poor brush holder design. In any case the new motor has been running for months and it is very quiet.
The other good news is I have a web page for you to visit that I thought I lost due to a computer crash but I am crazy about backing things up and found it. If the new motor doesn't look different than the old one send it back and buy a complete fan kit so you get the new style. The changes are around the bearing areas. I have information on where I bought mine.
The 12 volt ceiling fan makes a tremendous difference in comfort level in our mh. We have a tempurpedic bed and they can be a bit warm so circulating is is nice.
Ok,now for the site.

RE: Electrical Help

Have a beer and don't worry about it. GFCI's are very picky outlets and like to drive you crazy. If everything is running don't worry about it. Your converter is fine. :@

RE: Converter ?

Your wording makes me wonder if you are trying to use the 12 volt charge line out of the generator versus the 110 volt line. In any case a larger converter would have leftover current to charge the batteries but they may not take a faster charge and you don't want to charge deep cycles batteries over 10-15 amp hours. You can yes but it is not in the best interest of them. It sounds like you are using a lot of battery and I would first make sure everything is clean, shiny, and the battery specific gravity is taken. That said, if everything is up to par you may need to run the generator two hours in the am and two in the evening. It sounds like you are running some hungry stuff. Make sure your refer is not running on 12 volts if it is a three way.

RE: Anaheim area for 45 ft?

Anaheim RV Resort ?
And Orangeland, (very nice and easy to get in and out of), Anaheim Village. But not the Harbor. Orangeland is our favorite. A 40 footer was not a problem. We had plenty of room left.

RE: 12 Volt Power Source ?

Good idea. I would suggest a fuse near the plug in case the wire gets shorted. Without a fuse it could start a fire in the grass if placed there.

RE: Leaving Ft. Bragg, CA for Silverton, OR

Ditto on going over to 101 and North out of Willits. The travel might not be quite as fast as I5 but the view is wonderful and should not be missed. There are some great campgrounds all along that route. I would love to spend three months over there.

RE: West Yellowstone question

http://www.hideawayrv.com/
We stayed here once
Tiny place but very nice folks. You can walk to downtown West Yellowstone in a couple of blocks. They have excellent electricity and hookups and at a fraction of the cost of the Grizzly park. It is rustic in that the spaces are gravel but our 40 footer with four slides and a toad fit fine.

RE: led motion sensor

Has anyone found a good led motion sensor light? I bought an inexpensive one off e-bay last year to install in the bathroom. It is OK for the first 20-30 sec. Then you are flailing your arms around to set it off again. At 3 am aim is important.
Thanks in advance,
Jon
I sit down like a girlie at night:o ...my aim ain't that good at 3:00 am lights or no lights, this way I don't even need to open my eyes :Z
Know what you mean. Better to sit at night, than clean up a miss aimed shot the next morning.
Standing rules in our MH is that all men sit, day or night. Don't want to listen to the water fall nor do I want my wife to clean up walls. It is a sit down model, not a urinal.

RE: Cool little GPS tracking device for vehicles

They are very reasonably priced and it pays to shop because you can get monthlys for $20 a month. That said you might have been given an excellent up front price much like cell phones. You can monitor the speed real time and from any internet computer. School buses and ag equipment are common users. Some trackers can be as simple as reporting their location once a day and without the obd port. Those are great for keeping track of equipment like trailers etc.

RE: Memory Foam Topper Odor?

Even our expensive Tempurpedic had an odor for a few days. They recommend having the kids walk around on it etc. Our inexpensive bed in a box mattress' too had odor. It goes away quickly so don't plan on sleeping on it the first night if it bothers you. Just let it sit up against the wall to air. You will not regret buying one.

Have you missed any doses of Cymbalta? You can have severe withdrawal symptoms quickly missing a couple of doses. Could be time for an increase in dose as well. Definitley don't put off seeing the Dr. with those symptoms.Have your heart checked too.

If you have a house battery switch turn it back on. They are latching relays often and changing the battery might have dropped it off ckt.

RE: Back up Alarm Voltage

To determine if you have a bad ground or low input voltage with a load place your meter probe negative on the ground lead of your shoreline cord or a good clean shiny metal spot. If you measure voltage on both sides of the alarm your ground is bad. If you measure 0 on one side and low voltage on the other your supply is bad. To prove which side is ground disconnect one of the leads of the alarm and measure the voltage. The one that does NOT have voltage is the ground and you can substitute a wire to prove to yourself that is the issue.

RE: This Makes No Sense to Me

A picture or two would be helpful. Pull your shorline cord out and connect to the ground with your voltmeter and re-do the tests. This way your ground should be a known good one.

RE: Sleep Number Beds Versus Memory Foam

The sleep number in our new mh left in less than 6 weeks and was replaced with a memory foam. We have a king dual adjustable in the house. Yes they can be warm but the newer ones from bed-in-a-box have some special covers to help. We use a mattress pad and also use a small fan. We were glad to get the 6 100 dollar bills for the new sleep number bed. It paid for the bed in a box model. Our tempurpedic was 5 times the price and not better but it is adjustable.

RE: plastic rear window magnifier

Use some 0000 four ought steel wool to clean the window with. Use it dry and polish the glass very clean. Then use a little moisture on a paper towell to stick it. Be sure to clean the plast piece too.

RE: ceiling fan switch- need help finding!

Simple switch
Replace it with this switch. It has an external resistor so it won't get as hot and only two speeds. My new fan came with the switch shown and the only reason for not using it was the lack of room. Now I'm glad I kept the old switch. It is four years old and I run it a lot on low which would cause the switch resistor to be the warmest. To reverse the fan there is a switch on the side of it. I just gutted the new fan kit for the motor. Now I found a source for the motor. They have a habit of ticking from my personal experience and many others. The new motor is redesigned and hopefully it will stay quiet.

RE: ceiling fan switch- need help finding!

I'm an ET with 40 yrs experience working on 12 volt systems. I like the idea of either removing the plastic or at least venting it. It does have a large heat sink. I would hope it was fused properly.
There is a good reason to have a 12 volt fan for those of us that boondock a lot.

RE: ceiling fan switch- need help finding!

PM me with your address and I will send you one Monday via ups. I have one left over from my ceiling fan replacement. I did not have room for that switch so had to use the original two speed one.
No charge.
