RE: Toy Haulers W / 14' garage

I'm in the same market. Voltage, Fuzion, Cyclone, Raptor, XLR are the ones I know have 14' garages

RE: Honda CRF450X or Yamaha WR450F

And as one of my kids said many years ago, "Boys ride blue bikes and girls ride those pink (red) bikes." That's how it worked out in our family anyway: my son and I ride Yamahas and my wife and daughters ride Hondas.
I'd better hope my daughter doesn't read this. She will be making fun of her brothers on their pink bikes :)

RE: Honda CRF450X or Yamaha WR450F

I don't know if the Honda 450 is the same as the 250. I curse my wife's 250 when I change her oil, because it takes twice as long (separate engine oil and tranny oil). The maintenance on my WR450 seems a lot simpler.
I'm already biased towards the WR, but the thought of getting the EFI would sell me.
EFI is what I want. Not sure my budget will allow for it. May have to sell some snowmobiles

RE: Honda CRF450X or Yamaha WR450F

If you are going to go with the Yamaha definitely go with the new 2012 WR450. They have finally put decent forks on it, (YZ forks and shock) still have the bullet proof titanium 5 valve head, and like you stated it is fuel injected. If you are going to go with a used WR get a 2007 or newer. 2006 and earlier had the steel frame, and were top heavy. I have a 2008, and had a 2005 WR 450. The new Honda x is suppose to be fairly decent also, except no fuel injection.

RE: Honda CRF450X or Yamaha WR450F

Hey thanks for all the responses. Surprised it stayed so nice. Sounds like everyone favors Yamaha over Honda. Guess I'll be upgrading my riding gear to blue. Actually My uncle used to own a Honda store but has since retired so my loyalty to the Honda brand has gone out the door. A dealer in Vegas was advertising a 2010 or 11 WR450F for $5500. I called them hoping I could get out of paying sales tax( no sales tax in MT) but can't.

You should have let him hit the overpass and let his insurance buy you a new TH :B. Actually that was good thinking on your part or the situation could have been a lot worse.

Honda CRF450X or Yamaha WR450F

looking at upgrading my 04 CRF250R & going w/more of a trail-off road/street legal bike, so need opinions, facts etc about which one is better. Both new and used (used being 2008 or newer). New I would say Yamaha because the WR450F is FI. Honda doesn't offer this option in their X models. I've never ridden Yamaha but from what I read they seam to be a pretty reliable bike. I've read that Honda's had valve problems. My 04 would confirm this but do the 2008's & newer have valve problems? any pics are appreciated.

RE: Anyone owne a Keystone Raptor?

I have an a 2007 3612DS. Ordered in in Sept 2006 and besides a few minor issues has been great (the gauge for the black holding tank goes whacky, but they all seem too). Quality and fit and finish is excellent, I have the gel coat sides and its still nice and shiny. Great dealer support, great manufacturer support (I added a second bedroom window in the overhead slide and actually talked to a Keystone rep, but that was 5 1/2 years ago). Went to the RV show recently and am a bit disappointed in how the toy haulers are turning out...too many gimmicks and gadgets in my opinion. The 1/2 bath is good, 16" wheels...but other things...like side decks and power awnings and doors..cmon, really? Again, just my .02.
If I buy another TH it will probably be a raptor around 07-08 a 3712 and I agree that there are many gimmicks that the are coming out and many useless, but the power awning is great. You can leave camp and it the wind picks up while you are gone it rolls up automatically. One thing they should focus on is placing the television in a nice high place where everyone can see it, that seems to be lacking in most of the newer designs it is placed really low where someone walks by and is in the way or they place it where only part of the seats can see it.
The location of the TV in relation to the seating is my issue as well. I have not seem many that have a good solution to that problem.
would be nice to have a swivel rocker or two w/excellent viewing of the tv.

RE: TH Rear Ramp Patio

Thank you for the replies. I was concerned about animals and unwelcomed guest having easy access to the living quarters. I know there is a door, assume it can be locked, between the garage and living room, but wondered how sturdy it is.
:B reminds me of the time I forgot to close our ramp up and the garbage was hanging off the back and a bear got into the garbage or so we think because the neighbors saw a bear roaming around the campground area.

RE: 2012 F350 Dually Weight

Congrats on the new truck! I think Ford did their homework with the 6.7. Several people I know have them and most all have had very good luck with them. talking w/a friend who's company uses them at a mine tells me he hasn't had any problems. All the other past Fords and Chevy's they've had... have had some problems early on, but not the 6.7.

RE: i think i might have found my next th trailer

didn't find any interior pics, but it sounds like they are doing some type of custom work or at least giving customers options.
clicky
As far as the furniture goes we can do any configuration you like. That is why we try to utilize the mega slide in every floor plan because it gives us so many options for furniture in the unit. You can get the huge couch with built in recliners (standard), free standing table and small couch, booth dinette and couch, and we have swapped out the small couch for swivel recliners or euro chairs many times. If it has a mega slide you can pick any configuration that you like. We need to do a better job of marketing that to the customers and I appreciate you pointing that out. You can also swap out the king for a queen and get a larger night stand on the one side. As far as the garage heat goes we are unfortunately limited to the ducts that we can run to the garage, and I have heard this from a few customers saying the same thing. I am working on an option right now to have a second smaller heater that is for the garage only. I will keep you updated as we start digging more into this option.

RE: i think i might have found my next th trailer

I am working in the Elkhart area and had a day off. Went to the factory and got a private tour which ended with a walkthrough of the 4100 prototype. The only one in existence so far. All I can say is it is the most awesome toyhauler I have ever seen. Huge bedroom, huge bathroom, loads of living room space. As close as you can get to a Landmark with a garage. Now to see if I can afford upgrade my truck so I can pull this beast. By the way the tub is sunk into the floor of the bath, You could be 7 ft tall and have headroom.
anyone have pics they can post? I'd like to see more of this too

RE: i think i might have found my next th trailer

Very nice- We are starting to think about something different but we need at least a 16 foot garage and 18 would be better.
I wonder if they would build it without the second bathroom and storage area? Maybe then they could extend the garage a few more feet.
I don't know why someone doesn't make a 16' garage. There are a lot of models in the 36'range w/12' garages. 4' more garage would be a 40' model.

RE: Repairing enclosed belly

my raptor has same stuff but its one entire piece. PITA to take off and put on. I had warranty work done on a valve and the dealer cut a slit in it. I've had a difficult time keeping water out of it. The big problem is driving down the highway on wet roads water will get in there and soak the insulation. not good if your camping in cold weather; otherwise, it doesn't hurt anything. Tape hasn't held on mine.
If your going to remove I'd recommend a few mods...upgrade the insulation or add more. heat trace water tanks and water lines. strengthen or add addional support holding all the tanks.

RE: Where to get water? Wyoming

The host this summer had a toyhauler so hopefully they will be better. Our host went ad far as making sure we had street legal ATVs to ride in & out of the camground. Lots of Trails w/just about every kind of riding. Oh ya one last thing be careful of the sheep dogs. We had a run in with those dam things this past summer. 5 of them came out of no where and started biting the lead ATV. I was surprised they didn't try to bite a leg. They're dam lucky noone has shot them yet, but they will chase after vehicles and will bite fenders tires. Should see signs warning you & letting you know how to act. Enjoy!

RE: Where to get water? Wyoming

I've never gotten water there but on top of the mountain at Burgess Junction there is a nice clean dump station. I've seen people filling up water jugs but I don't recall how quickly it fills and if it would reach to your TH. We camp at the Bighorns several times every summer. The Ranger's office should be able to tell you.
We too have a toyhauler and have stayed at Tie Flume and it was a nice scenic campground, but my experience was the campground host wasn't the most friendly towards people with ATVs/UTVs/motorycles. If you have kids they wont be allowed to ride in & out of the campground.
The nicest thing about the Bighorns is that you can camp almost anywhere off the road. This is great for not worrying about getting that camping spot or trying to beat the crowds. There is always camping spots!!!! And the best part of that area (Burgess Junction side) of the Bighorns is there are moose!!!! and lots of them!! We boondocked by Owens Creek and had a cow & calf walk right through camp.
The Bighorns are very friendly towards adults & kids on ATVs/motorcycles as long as your not off trail, hot rodding and especially the kids are wearing helmets. You can get off road stickers at grocery store at Dayton. I think its a Sinclair. Only gas station in town and its cheaper than Ranchester. Gas does not contain ethanol either. (great for the TH) To get diesel you need to pull around to the side of the building. Its usually quicker to get the stickers down below the mountain than on top of the mountain. Typically the cheapest place for diesel is in Sheridan at the last exit heading west. I think its called the Common Cents Travel Plaza. Across from Kmart and next to McDonalds. Easy in and out through the truck lane.
