RE: Photos of my new Jayflight Travel Trailer...

Really attractive and well done...but I'd be afraid to boondock in it.

RE: Painting the trailer tongue

I'd take everything off as I would want the paint to protect the areas under things as well. I'd do a light wire brushing to get rid of any surface rust, mask and then spray with "Rustoleum" or an equivalent.
Haven't had to do it with the new TT, but did it regularly over the years on the old TT.

RE: weight and balance distribution sway bars need it?

Weight Distribution and sway control has little to do with hills and/or mountains. Properly set up, weight distribution evens your tongue weight over both axles of the tow vehicle giving better control and wear. Sway Control aims to dampen the side to side movement (sway) of the trailer as a result of cross winds, passing trucks, etc. We pull a 23' (26' actual length) TT and considering who would be in the truck when something goes seriously wrong, its a "no brainer" whether to have it or not, IMHO. We live at the base of the Sierras with some serious cross winds much of the time we travel north or south, not to mention two lane truck and RV traffic. For the money, I wouldn't leave home without it.

RE: Drawer glides

You might try Rockler(look up "drawer slides"). I don't think you'll find much longer than 28" at the longest. There are 30", 32, 33" and 34", but your talking big bucks! (Accuride, which are good quality, runs upwards of $130 +/ a pair Amazon) Also, when looking at glides, be sure to consider the weight the slides will be carrying.
Good luck!

RE: Jayco

We have a Jayco JayFlight-G2 23FB. It's been two years now we and love it! Nice size for us and our style camping. Our previous trailer was a 1991 Jayco 18RB which we traded in on this one. Both were virtually trouble free from the "git-go".

RE: How to install "spring door support" for cabinet door?

Just be sure they allow the door to open higher than you are tall!! Our Jayco came with a couple of them and I am forever hitting my head on them as they just open enough so that unless you remember to duck under the door when you reach for something in the cabinet, you get this great crease right across your forehead ;-)

RE: Outside shower flooring

I built one similar to the "Walmart" one out of cedar. Reasonably lightweight and high enough off the ground that you don't have to worry about pine needles and small rocks ;-)

RE: sway bars

I used to pull an 18' TT and wouldn't want to do it without some sort of sway control. Where we are, we get high winds (70 mph as we speak) and to go north, or south, have to travel two lane highways with cross winds and heavy "big rig" traffic. I use a combination sway and weight distribution system (Equal-i-zer). Others will disagree with me, I'm sure, but when it's me and the Mrs. in the TV and our TT behind, I'll spend the extra bucks.

RE: The Controversial Topic of Battery Usage Time

We're avid boondocker/dispersed campers and do quite well with just what you're talking about. We have two Class 27 Deep Cell Batt.s and Honda generators. We run the generators in the evening while watching DVD's (don't watch TV)and running lights, etc. We then tend to shut down around 10 at night. We've also done this during cold weather with the heater going off and on during the night. Had plenty of power through to the next evening. TV's typically don't draw a lot of power, however devices with electric motors and electric heating elements tend to. Keeping that in mind, we've never run out of power from day to day.

Obviously, the dealer's installing employee didn't bother with the instructions as it isn't even installed in accordance with Maxxair's Installation Guide
