RE: Fun area to camp with grandkids?
Don't have a suggestion but do want to say good luck and have fun with your grandkids, we've done that with our 4. Was alot of work but we had fun. At the time they were three 3 year olds and a yr old guess that explained the work.

Went camping this past weekend, had to wait in line to empty the waste. Just watching all the guys do their thing on by one and to our surprise the dude in front of us did all his dumping with NO gloves just bare hands and then when finish jumped right into his truck and drove off. Just totally grossed me out..........:E

SC has some of the best state parks. Some are more popular than others (esp the beaches and lakes) so best thing is to get on their web site; SC State Parks. You can get the information you need for each campground and can also make reservations. The ones we have been to have RV and tent camping, nice thing is you do have water and electric on your site along with restroom/bath houses.

I thank you for posting seeing I didn't see it last time it was on here:).........very interesting seeing we own 2 VW TDI Jetta's. One that gets 50mpg and the newer one gets 44mpg....just wondering what mileage this camper would get....anyone know?

We had a guy that is a sheriff (local) that redid ours this past winter, we knew he would do a great job cause he decals all the cop cars, city and county. Checked before we had him do from the factory but after their quote price and having to do it ourselves went with someone who knows what to do. He also used better quality material like is on a passenger car or truck so we hope this set of decals will last longer than what was put on our 5er from the factory.

RE: Hubby's TDI Jetta's mileage
He just changed his timing belt for the 3rd time. He is the one that always changes his oil (synthetic) He can't stand for anyone else to touch his "baby". Has gone thru 3 sets of Michelin tires, has them rotated regularly. He drives it to work 5 days a week and also just to rip around town. Only once did it break on him we made a trip up to Ohio in 09 to visit our daughter, we were almost to TN coming back to SC and it just quit. Some tiny hose got a little cut on it. Don't remember the exact name but it about killed him to see the Jetta loaded on a flatbed cause he had checked it over before we left home. We have an 06 TDI that is mine, just turned 112,000 she is our Ohio trip car now. It only gets 44mph instead of the 50+ his does.

Hubby's TDI Jetta's mileage
Never dreamed when he drove his brand new TDI Jetta off the dealer parking lot in 2000, that he'd get 300,000 miles on it......he was so happy yesterday when his car hit that landmark. Would like a new Jetta but since this 00 still gets more than 50mpg it's kind of hard to let go....his next goal 400,000.....

We drove up from SC to Tom Johnson's also in Marion, was a good experience for us. I know alot of Nascar drivers get their RV's from them. Their's is out of my price range but a gal can dream:B.........

we did some renting.....tried a Class A, then Class C, TT.....if I had endless money I'd have one of each for the type of camping or travel we do, but don't so after trying each type out, we bought a 5th wheel. Still happy with our decision 6 years later.

Hate to hear about something like this. I'm sure some of you know about the Dugger family. They have a big Class A that they travel with and at times I believe they are carrying 24 people, this includes their 19 kids, and their oldest son's wife and 2 kids. Just way too many.

Ours is a 2006, still looks good inside. Have had to have some things fixed as someone said as you do with your stick house. We replaced our decals last Oct since the sun was eating the orginals away so she looks good now just need to give her a good wash and wax now but I can't yet just 7 weeks out from a total knee replacement......see I wear out too;) Course we did go to an RV show last weekend, was fun looking at the new stuff but hey ours is paid for.
