RE: Banks PowerPack Worth the money ?

We have the Banks 425 chip in our 8.3 cummins ISC 350, and it is a great mod, I can run with the cars on any pass in the west, and over the long haul it will give you better fuel milage. over 22k using fuel bought, over mileage I get 10.2 mpg
Gas,,,,, I have no first hand knowledge.

The best use of a hand gun in a bear situation is when the bear stands up to see what he smelled/heard, get a shot off, if he doesn't run, you better.
And remember, you don't have to out run the bear, just your buddy.

I got a $20 that says you'll never see a bear in a camp area in Yellowstone.Have you ever been to Yellowstone?
Many many times, dating back to when there was no sprays to scare the bears.

I would the first time. Just to be safe.
Before we go any where I normally flush every thing using city water by hooking up to the hose bib on the house, fill the water tank, and set the coach to city water supply and run all systems for about 5 minutes, drain the water tank and re-fill. Flush the black and grey water tanks, then add the proper amount of black water treatment to the black tank. This routine is done 3-5 times per year.
need I do more? so far no problems.

I've had a bear run in at Yellowstone (in the CG) and wouldn't think of exploring or camping there without it. My opinion is this is not a place to go cheap. I got the biggest bottle money can buy from REI for about $45. It came with a ballistic grade holster and is big enough to give you more than one chance to spray an aggressive animal or, person.
You do realize that you get about 3 seconds when a bear wants you.
Mostly the bear wants food, they are after the garbage you put in the dumpster, when you make noise the bear will avoid you. unless you get between the sow and the cub. then you are not going to have time to squat.

I am trying to figure out how to tow my small car and take my dual sport MC along too. Motorhome is 27' Chateau sport. Has anyone tried using a Superhitch (has two recievers one over, one under). Thinking to tow the car (1994 escort)using stowmaster5000 towbar with drawbar/ball mount in lower reciever. For the MC using top reciever to mount a one rail MC carrier. Both the car and MC are lightweight. Might add suspension airbags on motorhome. Feasable? Thanks
Measure from the center of the rear axel, to the intended position of the M/C, call that number the "Arm" (in inches), and then multiply that by the weight of the M/C, (call that number the Moment) divide that by 12, (equal to 1 foot) that will give you the total torque applied to the frame (foot pounds) That's the weight the rear axel thinks it is carrying. Think tire side wall capacity.
be careful how much weight you add to the overhang of the coach. That will place a strain on the frame that it was not designed for.
And remember that any weight you add to the rear the equil amount is removed from the front axel, it is a balancing act. like a teeter-totter. So it's not simply adding 300# to the rear axel you might be adding 600 pounds to the rear axel.

Our ISC 8.3 / 350 horse with a banks 425 chip in it, gave us 10.2 over 11,000 mile trip from Seattle to Mystic Seaport, Williamsburg, grand canyon and Seattle. We place the Alison tranny in economy, and the cruise control on 65.

Removing the sulphur from the diesel fuel did not change the basic structure of the molecule or the BTU content of the oil.
any hype about using additives is simply that. because sulphur did nothing for us to start with.
I will add, that the #2 diesel fuel with out sulphur, is a lighter oil than the old fuel we had prior, thus it has less BTU per pound because it is refined more to get the sulphur out. and you will see a lower MPG using it.

Lower B.C. is mostly like northern Wa. pretty much populated, but getting a little farther north, its pretty remote, you can park most any place and spend the night. The Parks are beautiful, and pay as you stay. lots of places beside lakes and rivers to spend some time free.

Any water passing thru the combustion process will simply break down into Hydrogen and Oxygen, and pass with no problems, because at combustion temps there isn't any water. Alcohol is the neutral agent between oil and water, combining it to the fuel molecules, it will allow the water to be burned right along with the fuel.
Alcohol has been used for a very long time with no bad effects in the trucking industry, that is how we keep ice from preventing fuel stoppage.
Large radial aircraft engines used Alcohol and water as a anti-detonation injection fluid, it actually cooled the burn temps to stop detonation, and never had any bad effects.
water turning to steam in the engine is humorous, because water is Hydrogen and oxygen, both aid in the burning process.

The air brake system on DP coaches use the same system and components as the 18 wheel trucks, A big spring applies and air removes the braking action.
when you park, pull the big yellow knob, and dump the air to the rear brakes.
Loose the air at any time the coach will stop.

We bought 2 used trailers, I make it a habit to remove the wheel and hub and clean and inspect the bearings and brake assemblies, and repair/replace what needs it. then install a set of bearing buddies. It isn't the traveling that hurts the bearings, leaving them set in one spot will cause electrolyses to destroy the rollers, then a few miles down the road the whole bearing gives up.

If It were my trip, I'd go the marine highway up that early, then return later in the year by road. the highway will be in better condition later, but it will be dusty in places where it isn't paved.
april is too early to fish on the way up in BC, the lakes will still be froze over.

You are talking two different systems, the ride hight is handled by the ride hight valves, any time the coach is running it will go to the setting of the ride hight valves.
jacking and leveling,raising and lowering is done thru the HWH system that will not engage when the coach is running. (key on position.) because you do not want the jacks down when the coach moves.
I often allow my HWH system to release the air in the air ride system and let the coach settle to its lowest hight, then put all 4 jacks down to to stabilize the coach, and simply manually level the coach at its lowest hight.
then when we want to move the coach, we simply start the engine, the coach will rise off the jacks then I hit the retract button on the HWH panel and retract the jacks. and every thing is ready when the engine warms up.
