RE: Residential Frig changeover

Replaced the RV fridg with a Samsung. We had to go with the counter depth unit. I have a gasser so I just removed the entry door and the Samsung went in without any problem. My MH had the floor built up about 8" for the rv fridg. Removed the 8" riser and the Samsung slid right in. Plugged the gas line and reused the ac. We do not travel more than 6 hours a day so we just shut it off and don't open the doors. Kept fine comming home from Fl. in 80+ degree weather.

RE: Inside Lighting idms then brightens

Had exactly the same trouble. Checked the batteries with a hydrometer and found them to be bad. A day or two later the converter went bad. Not sure if the coverter caused the batteries to go bad or vice versa. Much easier to check the batteries first.

RE: Directv

Thanks for the reply. I'm not concerned about the TV hookup but rather are the HD units wired the same way as the standard DVR's.

Directv

I have Directv with 2 DVR's at home. I take them with me when I travel in the MH. I have 2 cables from the dish to a combiner (not the right name) then two cables to each DVR. I'm looking at whole house HD DVR set up. I was wondering how the HD DVR is wired. Reading the Direct web site. I understand I will need the HD DVR and another HD receiver. Just not sure how the system is wired and can I take the units along in the MH.

RE: Gas MH brakes

To all of you that think your MH stops fine you should try a vehicle with the brake guard. I'm being honest when I tell you this system really works. I wish I had data on my rig. As far as how long the brakes last, I talked to a fellow that had over 120,000 miles on his F350's original brakes. Didn't want to start a controversy just was so excited about this system I wanted everyone to know.

Gas MH brakes

I have a Ford V10 MH. I always felt on edge when applying the brakes. I have talked to other gas MH owners both Ford and Chevy powered and we agree that the brakes are wanting for stopping power. I recently had Brake Guard units installed. WOW do they make a difference. Even my wife felt the difference. By the way I have no stake in Brake Guard at all. I don't have any quantatative information other than what is on their DVD's and internet site. I will say I am blown away with how the unit works. The unit makes the hydrolic system work almost as good as air brakes. I felt I should tell everyone with a gasser about this product.

Thanks for the detailed input rrwhistler. I'll wait for the reply from Splendide. I'm sure they will recommend a repair man.

Splendide washer/drier

We have model WD802CO S/N 702134585. When washing a load that may have been to heavy the machine went into spin cycle and the rpms were much faster than in the past. After this occurred the tube vibrates on all spin cycles as if it is out of balance. I pulled the washer out of the cabinet and looked in the back. The tube appears to spin smoothly but that is just spinning by hand. Is there a procedure for checking the balance of the tube? Is it something I can do? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I just sent an Email to Splendide but was requesting anyones experience on this forum.

RE: composite to HDMI

Thanks for all the input. I went back to the specs and found they use the green component plug for the composite video (yellow) input.

RE: composite to HDMI

I'm aware that the signal will still be SD but I will be able to plug the HDMI cable into the TV. I'm sure there is no composite inputs. All new HDTV's have component and HDMI inputs and no composite.

composite to HDMI

My Directv reciever has a composite output (Yellow video, red/white audio and S-video) but no component. The TV I'm installing is HD and only has component and HDMI inputs. I googled up converters that will take the composite signal and converts it to either composite or HDMI. My ? is does anyone have experience with these units. They are priced from $50 to 8oo. I could use the coax connection but would prefer HDMI. I plan to upgrade the RV dish to HD next year. Therfore I will run the HDMI cable now while I have everything torn apart.

RE: The Oasis at Zolfo Springs, Wauchula Fl

It's a small park. I personally thought it was rough and the spots are small. I am acquainted with a few that stay there and they like the park.

RE: Where to get recliners?

We just did that. We bought the Stressless chairs. They are a bit expensive but what a great chair. Each style has 3 sizes. The small is about 30".

Harrisburg Pa. RV mechanic

There is a good RV repair center just off 322 heading toward Hershey. We have talked about these guys on this forum before. I would like to know the name or number of this outfit.
