Reese slider hitch issue & resolution
Hi All,
I used the slider to push my fiver back into the driveway as usual but then couldn't get it to lock in either position, maneuvering or towing.
After much struggling and head scratching I removed the driver side slide rail while off the truck rails and heard something drop; a small padlock that had gone missing during our trip! It must have dropped through the opening in the frame of the hitch and was preventing the pawls from engaging in the holes in the square tube slider.
Lesson; keep stuff away from any opening down to the locking mechanism.
