RE: Valve cores stick !

If the balance beads are the problem, check your pressure with the stem at the 12:00 o'clock position. Any beads should just fall back in the tire when checking pressure. Works for me. Or the air chuck should blow them back when adding air

RE: Roof material

Yup, Sounds logical Francesca. I'm kinda thinking I probably have EPDM on my roof. Hopefully we can get some others to agree.

Roof material

Just got a gallon of liquid roof. Suppose to be good stuff. It is liquid EPDM rubber. Turns out the can says not to use it on Alpha brand rubber roofs. Don't know for sure what I have on my 1991 pace arrow. Its rubber for sure but I don't know if its an Alpha brand. anybody know for sure what I have up there? (its the original factory roof.) Is there a visual difference? thanks guys Tim

RE: Like to know the holding tanks size on my new 91 Pace Arrow

I would say that the stop watch and five gallon bucket idea would be pretty darn accurate!

RE: Buying New Versus Old?

Two big reason's for me not to buy new: instant loss of your cash (depreciation) but you already covered that. Second reason: buying new comes with a lot of problems that need to be worked out, hopefully thru warranty, but even then it is no fun. Another reason: getting stuck with an expensive toy that maybe cannot be fixed. Granted the majority of motorhomes come off the line ready to go and are good. But sometimes they build a lemon that can't be fixed. Me, I won't take that $200.000 gamble.

RE: 225 70R 19.5 Tires

Yes sir, Parkmanaa So far it would appear that 225 70R 19.5 on the rear would fall within safe parameters. Tim

RE: 225 70R 19.5 Tires

Did a google search on dual spacing. According to the Tire and rim association, dual spacing is measured from center to center of the tire thread. According to their chart 225 70R 19.5 requires a minimum of 10 inches of spacing. A 245 70R requires 10.9 inches of spacing. Tim

RE: 225 70R 19.5 Tires

OK I just went out to take some measurments. If dual spacing for 8R 19.5 is 9.5 inches, then it appears the measurement is taken at the center of each tire. In other words center to center of the duals. The measurement on mine (center to center) is right at 10 inches. So it appears that is the way to measure. I will do a google on it and see what comes up. Tim

RE: 225 70R 19.5 Tires

Where is the actual measurement taken, when measuring dual spacing? I thought the space between the tire sidewalls was the measurement point. But it appears I am incorrect. It was mentioned that the tire chart calls for 9.5 inches of spacing for the 8R 19.5. Anyone can clarify that for me? EDIT: I think maybe I figured out where the measuremet is taken. Would it be taken from Thread edge to thread edge? I guess that would be more like 9.5 inches correct?

RE: 225 70R 19.5 Tires

Lots of good info on this subject. I have been running the 225's on the front with out any problems. Never really anticipated any problems on the front. Reason for running 225's on the rear? more manufacturer choices for that size and more availability. I will be looking more closely at my particular situation before I make a move. Would like to hear from anyone currently running 225's on the rear. Thanks Tim

RE: tires for 1986 bounder

I just started another thread on this subject of tire size. I would like to run 225 70R 19.5 on the rear of my 1991 P chassis. KODA55, are you running 245 70R 19.5 on the rear of your RV?. I was wondering if there would be enough space between the tires to run the 225 or the 245? thanks Tim

225 70R 19.5 Tires

Anybody running 225 70R 19.5 on the rear of their P-30.? The p-30 calls for 8R 19.5. I was thinking of running the 225's but I don't know if there will be enough dually space between the tires. My chassis is a 1991 Pace arrow with a tag. thanks Tim

RE: smoke machine/chasing leaks

been using eterna bond on many RV's that I've had and it always worked good. For some reason on this RV I just can'y nail down the leaks. They are very small leaks. tough to find.

RE: smoke machine/chasing leaks

Yup, Just checked out the thread using the leaf blower. Seems it worked pretty good. But it was a slide in camper, pretty small square footage. Looks like a good idea, buy I wonder if it will build enough pressure in a 37 foot Pace Arrow??

RE: smoke machine/chasing leaks

I should maybe clarify. This is a fog machine they use on stage, indoors. No smoke involved here.
