RE: Refrigerator and TV Problems

I had the same exact symptoms on my Dodge and it turned out to be the house battery. Replaced it with new Interestate deep cycle battery.

RE: Early Verizon update??

Thanks for all your collective wisdom. Early update was easily accomplished at the Verizon store. My friend is the proud owner of a Iphone 4S.

RE: How many miles is too many

I bought my '91 Dodge with 118k miles for 4k. I've had to put about 3k in improvements and repairs, most recently a radiator. But my mechanic assures me that the engine, 318, is sound; along with the tranny. So...given the price of B's and that mine is in nice condition, inside and out, I'm ahead even if I have some more repairs done. I'm considering a paint job and replacing the carpet.

RE: Iphone 4s now 4G?

You might want to take a look at this recent discussion Has anyone updated their iPhone today?
Thanks for the heads up. Tom/moderator. You can dump this thread if you feel it's redundant.

Iphone 4s now 4G?

I recently approved the upgrade OS to my Iphone 4s and then noticed it was stating 4G instead of 3G on the display. Is it really getting 4G now? Honestly...I haven't noticed any difference.

Early Verizon update??

A friend of mine has Verizon, putting up with an old fashion phone. She wants and needs a Droid or Iphone, preferrably. Her next update is Christmas. Options? With At&T, I was able to upgrade within a year. They made it obvious that they want to retain my business. Does Verizon operate the same way?

RE: Glad I never bought an iPad...

My beef with the Ipad is the size of the screen. Just don't want to lug it around. My 7 inch tablet (Kindle Fire) is much easier to tote. Where it lacks, my Iphone 4S makes up the difference as well as my Dell Inspiron laptop.

RE: Front End Problems

Don't get me started on "steering boxes." It almost cost me my life.
My '91 Dodge always had too much play in the steering. Last summer, as I was embarking on a week long road trip, I took it to a big department store automotive center for an oil change. I mentioned the steering issue and they said they could fix it, diagnosing it as a steering box problem.
I paid the bill and left the center as they were closing. However, I noticed no significant improvement. I called the store and was given the manager's cell phone for future follow up. 4 hours into my trip, my aging prostrate yelled at me and so I pulled into a rest stop. While pulling up to the curb, I suddenly lost all steering. The wheel literally spun into my hands. Called the manager who arranged towing and repair. Turned out the mechanic missed a step. This loss of steering could have happened anywhere...especially on the curvy road I was on.
Long story short, it was never an issue with the steering box. All it needed was a quality alignment, which was done at a place that specializes in it. Lesson learned.
Hope this helps!

RE: I had to do it, I had to Block a members posts.

This is crazy and wrong.
My history here has been nothing but peaceful. Look at what I've posted. This is the first time I've spoken up about anything beyond what pertains to RV living. I'm going to block you Roger and end this nonsense.
I'm done with this thread.

RE: I had to do it, I had to Block a members posts.

Even more bewildering, this Roger was a moderator?
Yup... for years... back when the B forum was truly busy. Helpful of him to start this thread because most of us probably didn't even know that this was possible.
And now I think I will do the same. Thanks Rodger!
I agree that is good to be able to block, and would much rather see people block someone than to have them see the posts and feel obligated to refute them, or leave the board because of inane posts or conflicts.
P.S Rodger was an excellent moderator, doing a very tough job.
I absolutely agree that there is a need for a moderator. I wouldn't be on this forum without one. Too much keyboard-koward behavior out there in the unmoderated wild west.
I also agree that members should be able to block another without fanfair. Had Rodger just stated, "I have a new program that enables me to block further. Here is where you can find it"; then that would be acceptable. But that is not what he posted. He made it personal. I'm surprised a former moderator would cross this line. I'm equally astonished that our current moderator hasn't noticed this either. Doesn't he run the whole show here?
I realize loyalty is a factor but lets look at this thread objectively. Is the OP really necessary? Does it have anything to do with Class B campervans?

RE: I had to do it, I had to Block a members posts.

Just added another one. :R
This is childish! It's one thing to say that you have the ability to block. There is nothing new about that. It's entirely a different matter to point out whom you are blocking. It's divisive....behavior that is best suited for the middle school playground.
Even more bewildering, this Roger was a moderator?

I just couldn't take it any more, My only other choice was to stop reading this forum. :(
What does this have to do with Class B campervans? Why do you presume that anybody cares whom you read or don't?

RE: Samsung tablet owners

Well...I'll chime in about the Kindle Fire. Like it alot. Reasons...Size, Price, Amazon Prime, long battery life, and it serves me well in web browsing and checking email.
I understand they now go for $150 at Walmart, when you include the $50 gift card. Sweet deal.

RE: Finally decided

Your train of thought follows mine, especially since much of the camping I do is by myself. When another is involved, then the motel/condos come to play. It's great to have the versatility my B offers...along with 18 mpg on the freeway.

RE: Root a kindle fire

What is the downside with rooting a KFire? I use Prime and "the Cloud." Would hate to lose that. The upside would be more apps, especially upgrading the keyboard, and perhaps using it as a navigation aid.

Yep. Apple did the same thing with the Nook application. Was much easier to buy a book through the app. on my iphone until Apple pulled the plug. This...and Itunes itself, drives me crazy too.

I have a Weber and it's fine. But...whenever possible, I use the George Foreman grill. Much easier...and more efficient. Recommend you have both.

RE: Turtle Top Weekender Vans

I have the 17-3 on a 1991 Dodge 2500 van that I paid 4k for. Put another 2k into upgrades (tires, shocks, etc.) Great rig for one full size guy. Bed is too small for two. I've had some nice trips with it. Great for hauling my kids and boats around too.
Ditched the portapotty. Use the space for a closet and storage, like my 2k Honda Genny. Still have the original frig. Noisy bugger but it works. I turn it off at night with little effect on the perishables.
