It is presumed you have already obtained the serial numbers for both awing arms, and if so, why don't you contact A&E directly? They should have the replacement parts. Any reputable dealer can install them for you if that's what you desire. Best of luck.

We owned a 2000 Fleetwood American Eagle with the Cummins 350 hp, 8.3 in 2009 and had to replace the exhaust manifold which had developed a leak. In addition, the turbo was replaced along with several other maintenance items such as an oil change with filter, engine air filter replacement, air dryer filter replacement, engine coolant replacement and new filter and new fuel filters, etc. The total bill was a little under $6K. All this work was performed at a Cummins Service Center.
May I suggest you take it to a Cummins Service Center. Be aware that Cummins tends to be a bit on the high side; however, the work was performed to our satisfaction.

Maryland has two classes of "B" license--a commercial (CDL) B and a non-commercial B. IMHO the license requirement is poorly enforced and if you ask most RV dealers about it they will act as if it doesn't exist. Dealers have no interest in deterring customers from buying RV's and the motor vehicles department seems to have no problems with registering a vehicle to a person who does not have the required license.
When we were preparing to go full-time, I decided that I would get a Class B CDL because, as best as I could determine, the licensing requirement for a CDL and for the non-commercial license were the same. I was fortunate in that I lived near Hagerstown Community College which has a year-round Class A CDL program for professional truck drivers. Occasionally, they give a Class B course which is what I enrolled in.
I believe the experience of getting the CDL was well worth the 3 weeks it took. I am convinced I am a better and more confident driver as the result of the process.
If you are looking for the specific license requirements, go to a motor vehicles office and get the CDL Driver's licensing book (I don't think there actually is one for the non-commercial Class A or B licenses). The booklet provides all the information that can be on the written exam (75 question test) and outlines the practical driving tests you would need to pass.
It's difficult to imagine how you would get a license in the absence of taking a course or owning a vehicle of the requisite size and weight. You must take the driving exam in a vehicle of the class you are applying for. If you don't own an RV of that size, you would need to have access to a vehicle from a driving class, which is what I tested with. Also, to practice for the driving test you must be accompanied by a driver with a valid license for that class vehicle.
I would like to add to the information conveyed above. I have a Maryland CDL-B license; however, I really only need a "non-commercial" B license to operate our motorhome which exceeds 26,001 pounds. My thinking four years ago when I obtained the CDL-B was that I wanted to be legal driving my motorhome (even though I only need a non-commercial B). If there is an accident and I do not have the proper licensing, will my insurance company have issues because I was not properly licensed? I just don't want to find out.

Our bedroom ceiling rope lights are not operating. They were turned on a couple of weeks ago, but I could not get them to light when I was at the coach recently.
Any troubleshooting steps I should take? This is a first. Thanks!

Hauling Electric Club Car Precedent Golf Cart

Hello Everyone,
I plan on purchasing a used truck to tow behind my motorhome and want to put our golf cart in the bed of the truck. The cart's length is around 8.5 to 9 feet long and is a little less than 4 feet wide. It has a 6" lift with 22" X 11" X 10" tires (weighs in around 1000 pounds) and has the rear seat kit. Based on my research so far, I will need a long bed pickup preferably 3/4 ton. Since I will be pulling front forward into the pickup (I prefer backing in), there will be considerable weight aft of the rear axle. I may be able to close the tailgate, but do not know definitively yet. I need to also keep in mind not to exceed the GVWR of the truck and the GCWR of the motorhome.

For those of you that put golf carts in the bed of your pickup similiar to my golf cart configuration and tow behind your motorhome, what setup do you have that you can share? Any advice would be appreciated.

If you wrench some of the maintenance work, you will be ahead of the game somewhat. As other posters have submitted, there are alot of variables that intertwine with each other that will give you a true picture of what you are dealing with regarding your own personal situation.
Learn by asking questions, observing when you take it in for servicing and reading both the chassis and house manuals. Familiarity and understanding of the coach's systems will do you well.

Progressive Industries' electrical management systems have a tab with a hole in it that is attached to the neck of the unit. It can be used to secure to a power pedestal.

We have a short (5'10")bed the only one avaiable on a 1/2 ton. I have a peice of 3/4" plywood with 2x4s screwed every 4" to spread the load. The cart faces forward. We used to do it with a Colorado Crew, and it worked OK. The Sierra just has much more room and capacity.

If you don't have the Tahoe yet, consider a Silverado Crew instead. We tow our Sierra with the GC in the bed. It weighs about 6300 pounds with the cart.
This seems to be very manageable. Is the bed a regular or long bed? Do you back the cart in or face it forward?

We are very new to camping, we never have actually camped before. We have decided to purchase a new TT and are going to the PDI soon. Being February in CT the TT is winterized and the salesman said he will show us everything except the water stuff. I may not know anything about TT but I'm pretty sure we should ask them to de-winterize then re-winterize so we can test EVERYTHING out. Is this unreasonable?
Why not make de-winterization/re-winterization apart of the PDI? Since you have never owned a TT before do you know how to do this? The one concession that I would make was to agree to pay for the anti-freeze used to re-winterize. For labor costs the dealer can eat that part since it is basically minimal time involved in the whole process. Since you would not really need to flush the lines and sanitize the system it would just be a matter of flushing some water through and then pushing through fresh anti-freeze. This way you will know where the bypass valve, water pump connections, etc. are located and how to use them.

I read some great posts here on keeping the RV's batteries in great shape. I would like to add, from a safety perspective, that you should wear protective goggles, rubber gloves and a mask designed for chemicals whenever you are working around lead-acid batteries. Batteries can and do explode sometimes and you don't want to have a bad day because your face was not protected.
