RE: Is this a decent price

NO. add $10,000 more.
????
Offer them 70% of the sticker (MSRP) and add $750 for the second A/C installed.

RE: Talk me in to or out of a Ford Explorer.....

From past experience, the Explorer (and like size SUV's) are miserable tow vehicels for not much more than a larger pop up.

RE: How much is too much?

It is not what you can tow, but what you can haul. Look at the door jamb sticker for a GVWR ...the most the truck can weigh on the tow axles when loaded. A 3/4 ton will ALWAYS reach it's GVWR long before you reach GCWR.
SO weigh the truck with the camper on it,
GVWR - loaded truck = Max loaded tongue weight of the loaded trailer.

I would like to see some real world towing with the EcoBoost rather than a lot of speculation. Anyone actually towed any long distances with the EB?

RE: Honda EU2000i runs rough

If mine will be setting for over a month, I drain the carb. It just takes a few minutes and then no problems.

RE: How much truck to buy?

A 4.0L Ford Ranger with air bags plus helper springs might cut it.
Seriously, an F450 is about the minimum you will want to consider and possibly a Freightliner FL60 or FL 70.

RE: 1988 Nomad 16"

The RV is not a 4-season RV and you will have to be very carefulr to not freeze the pipes or holding tanks during weather below 32 deg F.

RE: Rattle Underneath Truck...What I Found

We had a heat shield in a muffler come loose on a new Ford Explorer. we were out of town at a small Ford dealer and the buzz was awful. He did not have a muffler to fit, so he used a good old farm patch. Two lengths of baleing wire twisted tightly which held until we got home.

That trailer needs a 1 ton dually...end of discussion.
remember that they make little trailers for little trucks and if you want a big trailer, it takes a big truck.

RE: Reese dual can set up instrructions

In 2010 they change the length of the swing arms and location as well as the chain brackets. make sure which hitch series you have before starting. Both sets of instructions are on the Reese website.

RE: brake controllers......

Ben K you are over thinking the whole issue. The short pig tail, that you mount the small transducer should be clamped down with a plastic tie.
My MaxBrake is installed much like the one in the above photo.
I have been working on autos for 45 years (as a hobby) and bleeding brakes is not rocket science. On the max brake install, I bleed at the transducer connection. I made up the installation and left the transducer loose and had my wife push the brake pedal until I got fluid at the transducer connection.
Just because it is a bit harder to install is no reason forgo installing something better. If it is beyond your skill level, hire a tech to do the job.
For the question about moving from a Prodigy to a Maxbrake, the difference is in the smoothness of the braking system of the truck and trailer as a unit. There is no lag or jerking, and you do not reset the controller for city or highway driving.
The Prodigy is OK for a 2nd place controller, but the best by far is the MaxBrake.

RE: 20 amp service to power A/C

As usual, totally ignore anything the dealer/sales person/Service manager tells you.
You should be able to run one 15kbtuh unit on a 20 amp circuit, provided there is nothing else on the circuit. Water heater on propane, frig on propane and make sure there is not a freezer of anything else operating on the circuit.

RE: Generator solution for SUV owner?

What is wrong with a pair of Honda EU200i generators and the paralle cable. Close the tank vents and set them in the back of the Burb. The biggest problem is they may grow legs during the night and wonder off.

RE: F-250 first time towing with the 6.2 gas engine

"Diesels also have the disadvantage of all the latest mpg robbing emissions equipment. Lowering the emissions per gallon but using more gallons isn't acomplishing anything in the end except costing more money to operate the truck, using up more oil and costing more to buy the truck with all the extra equipment."
