RE: Office on Wheels

I teach online too, and my husband has an RV shade restringing mail-in (and in person) service, so we need internet while traveling, so that's the only limiting factor. Although we use Verizon for Internet, we just need to be sure we are in an area with coverage at all (or almost all) times. Office is a laptop for me at a desk, and DH uses the table to restring blinds. Good luck!

RE: Man tries to climb Mt Rushmore

The article leaves out the answer to the All-Important Question: WHICH President was he attempting to... have some "facetime" with? He was met by Rangers while on Washington's left shoulder. Had rope with him, so not sure what his plans were......

RE: Man tries to climb Mt Rushmore

We were there (we're workamping for the bookstores) and saw it all - happened to be in a safety training class for the day, and a Ranger came in and told the group what was going on. We all went outside to watch the four Rangers get up to the guy and arrest him. Interesting on many levels.

RE: Nke Challege Soccer Tourney Beaverton, OR Campgrounds

I believe the fairgrounds in Hillsboro have RV sites and aren't to far. Cna also chec out RV Park of Portland - it's actually in Tualatin, but close to the highway to Beaverton.

RE: Silicone bakeware

In both an electric and gas over, we use Demarle products for anything we can and enjoy it. Easy clean-up, stores anywhere (can roll into a ball), lightweight. Biggest negative is their expense.

RE: South Dakota, Yellowstone & Grand Tetons

We're spending teh summer in the Black Hills workamping at Mt. Rushmore. So far we've enjoyed Mount Rushmore (of course) and Custer State Park. There's probably weeks of stuff to do in the area, and we plan to explore over the summer. Happy Travels!

RE: heartworm and flea control

We used Interceptor for heartworm, but now they're not making it any more, so we'll soon change to Heartguard Plus. We also use Frontline Plus for fleas & ticks.

Gulf Coast of Everglades National Park

HI, Trying to gather as much info about the Gulf Coast of Everglades National Park area as we can ~ what's the area like, things to do, Everglades City - what's that like? We are considering spending a few months in the area next winter, but do not know much about it, so any feedback would be welcomed. Thanks!

RE: Full time 5th wheel...extra car?

We drive the truck - really not that much of an issue. We do miss a small car for zipping in-and-out of parking lots, but the truck works great.

RE: Young family potentially hitting the road soon

Hi, We are younger and need income as well, and workamping does allow us time to explore areas, as well as make some money. Over the winter we took a gig that was a basic 12 hours each (24 total) per week for a free site. Now we're working at Mt. Rushmore for the summer season (in their bookstores, not Xanterra) - we work fulltime, get a free site, all hours paid, and plenty of time to explore this amazing area. We also take a month or two off between jobs to explore as wel travel, so you can have a balance of exploring and working. Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions about workamping. Good luck! :)

RE: Easy-to-digest calories??

Not sure of anyone mentioned this or not, but warming the food might stimulate his appetite since the warmth will release more odor.
