RE: Gas Diesel Fuel Price Difference?

When one go by you on the freeway blowing smoke, he is blowing smoke. When a diesel shakes and wake his neighor in a RV park he is shaking and making noise, when you go to get fuel and stand in diesel oil you are standing in diesel oil. And half of the posts are about trouble with the engines and brakes and parts. HelloGas motors never blow smoke or have smelly exhaust?
Gas vehicles are never loud?
Gas is spilled all the time, it just evaporates.
Gas engines never break down?
Seems like you only see the bad stuff on diesels and don't see the bad stuff on gas vehicles. It is very easy to see with the diesel, they do it all the time.
I disagree. My 6.7L PSD is quiet; doesn't shake, rattle & roll; never any soot; exhaust has no more smell than any other gas vehicle out there. Why do your friends call you smokey.

RE: Get water bag before crossing Az.

Is this perhaps what you were referring to?

Sorry it took so long but I had to go out to the garage and take the pics and turn it around. I've got one other that has not been converted to a purse like this one. We bought this years ago at the Rosebowl Swap Meet. Didn't need one then, we had a VW bus.Everybody that stopped gas were told you must have them, it was a joke, but the station today tell you, I wouldn't drive far on them tires, you know your family is in that car. Money in the hands of fools departs very fast.

RE: Walmart overnighting yes or no?

just thought I would ask the question, I am looking at stopping overnight with my family overnight in Cortland, NY at the Walmart. I know lots of people do this but is it safe? Will Walmart bother us or kick us out?
ThanksSo far only 4 people have been lost in a W-Marting lot in Az.

Get water bag before crossing Az.

Remember now always buy a canvas water bag and hang it on your bumper before traveling across Az.

RE: Tucson

We are heading from St. Louis to Tucson via Tulsa, Amarillo, Albuquerque. Eventually we'll end up in Williams AZ before heading back home the same way without the stopover in Tucson. It looks like there will be a hill or two along the route. Has anyone traveled this route that can offer tips?Drove all of it for over 50 years, always make it.

RE: For those of you that travel off the interstate ..

How do you plan your fuel stops? Are there resources you use to identify truck stops along the way?Look for a man with a long chain on a wallet standing in front of a big long truck. Most are fat, and wear a cow boy hat. Inside you will see a large display of jecky and chips. That's a truck stop.

Rumor is that it's a mobile donut shop. :B
Failed the tests to become a police officer didn't you.I did forget to say that this was the same parking lot at W-Mart where two young men who worked there lost there life about 3 or 4 years back. Safe place to stay the night.

Smoke more

If you have to pay a lot more now for diesel fuel, shouldn't the diesel smoke more so you get your money's worth.

RE: Apparently 3/4 ton pickups CAN tow anything

No half tons pulling fivers or heavy TT?
Come on now, was it really that bad?
My dad tows a 14k GVWR Fiver with his 03 Dodge 2500 without airbags (Cummins), Tows great!
Ironic that the 3/4 ton guys are taking a beating on this thread.
1 ton guys beat up on 3/4 ton and half tonners
3/4 toners tell the one toners that they are ok and the half tonners that they are NOT ok.
Half ton guys, well, we just run what we brung.
Pulled my trailer tonight at 65, could have ran 75, how can a little ole 5.4 do that? Same as the 3/4 ton guys pull big fivers,
we hitch and go.
Thanks!1/2 ton boys didn't get picked up by the saleman and dropped on his head as long as the 3/4 and 1 ton guy, the 3/4 and 1 ton think they got it right, they just got it put in them.

RE: Bear Spray

My wife insists that I buy bear spray for our trip to Yellowstone, so I am buying bear spray! My question is what brand/type is best? Figure I will order it online and then take it with us, as it should be cheaper than buying it there? Thanks for the help!I alway carry rattle snake spray with me. Never had aone bite yet.

RE: How tall is to tall

We are ordering a 3402rl Montana and the front air conditioner will make the coach 13 feet 4 inches according to my salesman. He insists Keystone will not install a low profile unit. Our last RV was a class A and it was 13 feet 3 inchs tall. We saw many overpasses that were 13 feet 6 inches and we are not very happy about being this close. Any recomindations. Thank you for your imput.Just hit the brakes right before the overpasses and your RV will squat a couple inches. Then smile and go on.
A motor home may squat or a TV but the back of a 5th wheel will rise to the overpass when you brake. Get the low profile however you have to for that little extra piece of mind. You may want to up grade the trailer tires someday and need the extra inches.Far more fun in the squat deal, you should make it 50 to 60% of the time.
