RE: Circuit breakers on Sabre 32RCTS

I think what the dealer said,or meant was it is wise to flip breaker off at pedestle and plug your fiver in,then flip the breaker on once plugged in.The radio maybe was on,and unit plugged into a faulty underated cord at dealer while being cleaned and got over heated,I wouldn't worry at all.Palomino has an extra 1 year warrantee through the factory for about 100.00,and stands behind there units,I wouldn't concern myself about the dealers breaker comment...Enjoy that new Sabre!!

RE: Jayco vs. Forest River Palomino Sabre

We love our Sabre, great unit,as are the Jaycos, and as stated for 100 bucks or so,the factory will give a second year warranty,go to the Forrest River Forum and click on the Sabre site, you won't find many complaints there, from their owners.Lots of trailer for the money, lots of standard features, that are options on other units, good luck with your purchase.

RE: Engine Hoist to remove hitch

I use a chain hoist on a beam and trolley, but as to contraptions,I just made a dummy pin about 6" long, and a loop on top, just lock it in like the 5ver pin does, and hook onto it and lift.

RE: Sanibel 3500

Do not own one,but looked at one at the show in Jan.,the group I was with were really impressed,as was I, with the Sanibel 3500.Compared to alot of the "popular" upscale fivers, this one is in a league of it's own,Good Luck with your decision.

RE: Pulling a Fifth wheel with f150 supercrew

Thanks for replies. I kind of figured that but i am only into this pulling stuff the last couple years i owned a motorhome before that and im no truck enginier. i Know i dont need no dually! I have a v10 with 4.10 and that is way more then enough but like i said i was looking for better gas mileage. anyone know any way to improve gas mileage when not towing? Go to the V-10 section of the Ford truck forum,to get some tune up and programer tips for your V-10,My '06 V-10 6spd stick 4.10 Super Duty ,gets 14-15mpg on the highway at 60-65mph and 8.7-9.2 pulling my 11,200 lb 5ver,that's only 1-3 mpg less than alot of the diesels,(especially the new ones)I'm sure you can't justify a 6500.00 diesel option on a $50,000 truck for the small milage difference of a well tuned V-10,being that you already have it,and it pulls your 5ver just fine,JMO

RE: Help with choosing between manufacturers

Can only comment on the one I am familiar with, this is our 4th trailer, and the best we have ever had,we are very pleased with our Palomino Sabre,a lot of trailer for the money, many things standard that are options on others, most all Sabre owners have nothing but praise for their units. All glass shower, lots of headroom, great fit and finish, tows great, the others are all great units, buy the floorplan that really fits your needs,Good Luck

RE: Sierra 32QBBS with F350 tow vehical question?

I agree with MTPockets, you should be fine,my pin weight is 2100 and I didn't have much sag,but was told that air bags would really help the ride, and gives you some adjustability, and it did,it rides and pulls great, try it loaded up (ready to camp) without air bags, and see how it feels, the V-10 will pull it,no problem.

RE: Seasonal Site Convenience vs. Campgrounds?

We camp all over on long weekends in season, and do camp a lot at a COE a the lake,I like the variety of going to all my favorite campgrounds....beside,I can bet you...If I got a permanant site my neighbor would be for sure,a "rap" music fan, with 2 barking dogs,3 yelling kids, that party until 2am....! RE: Battle of the Cats...Cougar vs. Sabre...Which One?

Well,I had a new 29'Cougar TT,(2008)although not a 5ver,and we really liked it,no problems what so ever, used it alot in two full seasons, Bought our 2011 Sabre 31RETS new in 2010,one of the first built, don't want to make anyone mad here, but the craftmanship, quality of materials, and the way the Sabre is built,I'm afraid there is no comparison, aluminun rafters, vented actic, the roof rolls down over the sides a long way,(no leaks)triple slide seals that don't tear, lower aluminum rolls all the way under, and is fastened to the frame, gutters over every slide....need I say anymore?I could go on and on, Like I said, had both, no comparison,Sabre has big HW tank, big A/C,big fridge, mine has 16" E rated tires on 6000lb. axles.........I'm just giving you my own opinion, you buy what meets your needs the best,Jack

RE: Do we really need all that light?

I don't mind awning lights or lights on the ground or whatever....I just HATE the nuckleheads that turn their "scare lights" on,and leave them on all night....if you are that scared of the dark...stay at home!!!

RE: LP GENERATORS

I know on my Onan,it uses a special large volume low preasure regulator, because a standard RV regulator will not supply enough volume, ask your dealer if it has the correct regulator,I run mine from a single bottle in all temperatures and have never had any issues.

RE: Revived Trailer Tire Thread (formerly on the 5th Wheel Forum

Very good info here, some I knew, some (of what I suspected was correct), was right, and I learned alot of new,and a very short conclusion would be,staying in that 85% capacity, that's why the over 10,000 (11-11500)lb. 5vers have a lot more failures,as there are a lot less capable tires in that range, lets face it,even a set of E rated China STs (in the 3400lb range) on a 1500lb car trailer hauling 1000lb of lawn mowers at 70+ mph at 80psi in 100 deg. heat would probably last 20 years! But if everything is at almost maxed at just 60mph at 80psi,hauling 13000lb,in 85deg, weather, there is just NO room for ERROR....again Thanks for coming back Capriracer.

RE: what is your break controller set for

Leave mine on 10 for the fiver, way lower for HT and CT trailers,it seems the "quicker" the stop, the harder it stops, and at easy braking it does not stop as hard, heard other Ford guys with the integrated controller say the same, was a little hard to get used to...until you had to stop in a hurry a few times, and it stopped great.

That sure was one of the best threads on that subject I've ever read......Too bad we won't get to hear the whole thing from someone with a great amount of knowledge, and with the help of a few of our own here........Thanks Mod.
I would have liked being able to read what he had already posted but I guess that's not possible now. The one I'm talking about is still there to read just closed......st vs.lt
