RE: Level Up, 6 point RV leveling system.

A couple weeks ago I was looking for a specific Cyclone model and found a dealer 90 miles away that had one. I called and asked about what options it had. I asked about the level up and he said it didn't have it. They had 5 rigs come in last year with them and all had problems. Multiple trips back to the dealer to trace down hydraulic leaks. He said they supposedly made some changes to the newer models to eliminate some of these problems, but will not order any more trailers with them until they hear/see and improvement.
He thought the Bigfoot product was a much better system. If I recall he said each jack could lift 10K pounds. It can be installed anytime after the purchase vs the level up which has to ordered and be installed from the factory. Of course it costs a little more, but you get what you pay for.

RE: Jayco Seismic

Does anyone out there know what's happening with this new TH? There seems to be nothing on Jayco's web site or surfing the net- no real pics, specs etc. I've been looking forward to some info etc. Thanks.
They are on some dealers lots. Do a search on rvtrader. I saw a couple on there with pics a couple weeks ago.

RE: Voltage haulers

What is up with the new Voltage "V Series"? Looked like a cheapened up regular Voltage. No slam latches, no dual fuel tanks and a few other things. It was the new 3005.
I think the "V" is the technical model name. I have what the dealer refers to as a Voltage 3905 Epic, however some of the documentation that came with the trailer from the factory refer to it as a V3905.
The 3005 is a newer model lower options competing against some other trailers on the market from what I can tell.
Yes it does seem they all have the V in front of the model like V3200, V3600, etc. This 3005 I saw actually has a logo on the front of the trailer that says "V Series". None of the other Voltages did so I thought maybe it stood for Value Series or something along those lines as it did not have all the bells and whistles as a regular Voltage.

RE: Interesting Reading

I will say that you are lucky you are further south and not up here by Sacramento and like to ride in the El Dorado National Forest. I don't know if they covered this at the rally but the Forest Service looks like its going to close 42 trails for the next year. Trails like Barret Lake jeep trail, Strawberry, and Deer valley. These trails and used by 4x4' and motorcycles. There are also about 4 or 5 motorcycle only trails to be closed also.
The trails will be closed for the next year so more studies can be done to the meadows and wetlands these trails cross. Will all these trails get reopened next year when the findings are in or is this the beginning of the end of trail riding. Will my kids only be allowed to ride in places like Prairie City and Hollister Hills OHV parks and have no idea what its like to be able to recreate in the National Forest? Its looking more and more like that's the way its going as the greenies keep winning in the courtroom. Hopefully everyone will keep writing the letters and donating money.

RE: 3950 voltage epic package

Hope things get worked out for you. I was down today looking at a few Voltages at my local dealer. I loved the sales guy. He said these were the best built toy haulers out there. Even better than a custom made Excel. As he was saying that I was opening cabinets and the factory had forgot to screw in one whole side or just missed the studs in the wall they were trying to screw in to. As long as you didn't open the doors and use the cabinets they just might stay on the wall.
Another person has had their Voltage in the shop there for 4 weeks trying to get slide issues resolved. At least the slides don't leak anymore, they just don't want to go in and out too well. There were actually 2 Voltages parked back by the service bay getting work.
I really wanted to like these trailers, but a little voice inside me is telling me to run away quick. He is supposed to be getting a 3200 in next week(which I am looking for) and not sure if I am going to go back and take another look.

RE: 2008 Chevy 3500HD

Buy a new one at that price
LOL....You mean buy a new Chevy 3500 DRW for $35K? You obviously have not priced new trucks in a while. I wonder if you could even get a 2012 work truck with manual windows for that price. I have a 2008 Chevy 3500 DRW LTZ and the MSRP was $53,600. That same truck today has an MSRP of $63,000.
To the OP: the price would depend on the model, condition, and mileage. Around my part of CA, an LTZ package with 30K miles or less are being listed between $42-44K on a dealers lot. Private party is of course less.

RE: Narrowing it down.

One thing you have not mentioned and maybe it means nothing to you is price. I am in the market for a new truck and in the Dodge vs Gm the Dodge comes out about $7000 cheaper for the same model with Dodge actually having more goodies.
Example:
2012 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually Laramie was $48,000 with MSRP of $58,000
2011 Chevy Dually LTZ(yes 2011, because this dealer cannot sell the 2011's he has so no 2012 duallys on the lot) was $55,000 with MSRP of $62,000
Now prices in your area might differ and dealers will actually deal more than others, but I can purchase a lot of fuel and accessories for an extra $7000.

RE: Ford's answers to the NHTSA 6.7 Investigation

I am still waiting to see if Dodge adds DEF injection to their HD pickup's. A two tone black/beige dually Longhorn will look good in my driveway...I sat in one at a local outdoors show...nice truck...
Regards
Sounds like you should have one in your driveway come 2013

RE: touch pad code for Voltage

Hey I guess I forgot to cover this during the walk thru and can't seem to find a manual for the key pad outside but where would the number code be for outside keypad and then how would I go about changing the code to one I could remember? I would call the dealer but you guys are much quicker responding :) Thanks and by the way this is for the Dutchmen Voltage.PLEASE DON'T POST THE RESET CODE IN THE FORUM.
PM the guy if you want to answer. I don't want everybody in the world knowing how to unlock my rig.
BTW, I contacted the manufacturer of the remote and theuy answered quite quickly.
Too late the info has already been posted online and at one time even on here. If I am not mistaken the manufacture has the instructions and code on their website.
So to the OP check the website. The instructions and code are on there.

RE: Ram Truck Website Nice Feature

I just built a 3500 Dually Longhorn...$58240..00 sticker price
Sixty grand for a pickup. Ye. Gods.
And to think that Dodge is the less expensive of the big 3. Ford and GM are even more proud of their trucks.

RE: Smog Gear for Diesels and Fuel Consumption

There are videos on youtube of the CHP pulling over diesel trucks and plugging into their OBDII to check for emission altering.
Do you have any links to a couple of the videos? I just did a quick search but didn't come up with anything.

RE: My solution to the problem

That mud flap pretty much answers the question of what type of engine is being used but the real question is what calls of truck is that Cummins in?
Well the mudflap also has the Dodge/Ram logo on it along side the Cummins.

RE: This one is sweet...

Very, very nice...I would just be a little cautious regarding the 10K dry weight with 3 slides. Sounds a little light. But if so that would be nice:)
According to the pdf it mentions they are built so they could be towed by 1/2 to 3/4 ton rigs

RE: dmax fuel economy problem

One thing no one has said yet is this, is this truck a 4x4 and if so has the four wheel drive knob been bunped? I have one of these newer GM trucks and its easy for my knee to hit the knob and put it in 4 wheel drive. They have no indicator on the dash so the only way to tell is the little bitty light on the knob.
I don't know about that. Have you ever driven a 4wheel drive vehicle locked in 4wd on dry pavement? If that was the case I think he would be complaining about more than poor fuel mileage. He would be asking about all the weird sounds and why its harder to steer around the corners and curves now, not to mention getting around the parking lots. If you can't tell you are in 4wd without a light telling you, then it must not be that great of a 4wd system.

RE: Switch duramax LMM to ?

By the way, this is a new body style 2007 with the catalytic converter. I am not wealthy, just an independent small business, and the truck is not an advertising poster.
If this is the new body style wouldn't that engine be the LTZ not the LMM? I thought the new body style change over in mid year also came with the LTZ engine.
LTZ is only a trim level, I would assume they have a LMM engine.
Gotcha...I was thinking LBZ that was in the 2007 "classic" body. Too many L's, Z's, M's in the darn chevy stuff.

RE: Ford 6.7 vs Ram 6.7

the question was a 2013 model year so why all the answers on earlier year trucks???
chevman
Because he is asking about the engines. The Cummins 6.7 used in 2013 is the same 6.7 that was used in 2008
Rumors are getting closer to the 2013 Ram having DEF. Actually might be getting a little better fuel mileage than the earlier 08-12 years. I was going to order my 2012 Ram this week, but I will be holding off a bit to see the new grill/front sheet metal changes and if DEF actually makes it on. Neither dealer can tell me for sure, so I will wait off on ordering.
