RE: Expedition owners - questions on 2009 expy

Terry, having rented expy's on travel I would suggest that the tires are very 'splashy' on the expy with P rated. and as other have suggested the upgrade to LT gives them better perfromance. My 3/4 ton has LT tires and I know P rated tires would handle its weight??

RE: Expedition owners - questions on 2009 expy

thanks for the quick replies all. Always good to know you are all out there to answer! On the 3.55 ratio. I did have dealer confirm code, so safe to assume 2009 came with that option....?

Expedition owners - questions on 2009 expy

Hi all, Looking at a 2009 expy Eddie Bauer. Question I have is on Towing package for this vehicle. Specifially, how can you tell on this one if it had the heavy towing option? Has a small ( 2.5" x 10" or so) additonal cooler in front of Rad?? Truck has P rated tires, but they are replacements. Did OEM on this come with LT tires. Rear Axle is 3.55, did tow package come with 3.73? Any other clues. AS WELL, any experience on this for a tow vehicle with 3.55 ratio? Towing a 23' TT dry 4200, loaded at around 5500 lb usually. Thanks

RE: Would a 6.0 do the job?

Yes you can, towing around winnipeg is the flatest part of north america. you will be fine. Teh jayco trailer you refer to wi not a light weight, but not a heavy wieght either. the 6.0 is a great engine that likes high revs. I tow with it in the mountains with NO issues on grade at all, mind you I have a lighter TT than you. no, good to go, you don't need a diesel or 8.1 or V10....

RE: 2003 chevy instrument cluster

Just did mine, found the guy on line at kijiji. Way cheaper than dealer or send away with core charge etc. $180 ALL servos and bulbs replaced. This was they guy who is contracted by many of the dealers to do the work! And I was not covered on recall as truck out of warranty when I purchased it.

RE: 1st attempt at winterizing today

I have not used pink stuff in my lines for years. I just blow them out at 40 PSI, no issue with our deep freeze up here. Just cannot stand the taste of the antifreeze in spring...

RE: Replacing Lens cover on dash instrument panel - 2003 Chevy?

Thanks guys, but.... There are no clips for this. The lenscover is glued directly to cluster and is trim fit around. No clips or attachments of any kind?? are we thinking of something else?

Replacing Lens cover on dash instrument panel - 2003 Chevy?

Can this be done? I have to fix the instrument cluster on my 2003 Silverado ( the usual Chevy Cluster issue). But I have a cracked lens cover as well. I have pulled the cluster and really cannot tell if this cover can be removed and replaced. Web search is futile as it is pages and pages of how to fix the bad cluster only. Does anyone know if this can be done and if this part (clear lens cover)can be ordered? Thanks
