RE: KOA Resort Fee

I don't mind the $5.00 extra a night if the cg is nice, usually the so called resort is already exspensive so what's $5.00 more...
Already expensive, so what's $5.00 more? Hard to agree with that statement. It would all be so much easier if they would just set the price and not mention the additional charges, that is what usually gets people upset. We don't want to pay for the playground or dog walk, that should be part of what sets the RV site rates. Keep it simple.

RE: vanilla from Mexico

Guess I know nothing about vanilla, but last time we were in Progresso, I looked at a bottle of "Pure Vanilla". But looking at the label of ingredients, I saw many big chemical, scary, words and never saw "vanilla" listed anywhere in the ingredients.

RE: Colorado Hwy 50 question

Thanks for all the great information, guess I should have also asked about RV parks, but guess I can look all that up. But if you have a favorite RV park, please let me know. Thanks again.

Colorado Hwy 50 question

We'll be going to Colorado from Las Vegas,NV in April and hope to avoid I-40. (Just looking a different road that is scenic) I would like to go to Grand Junction and take Hwy 50 down to Montrose and then east to Canon City. Is this a good, safe, road pulling a 32' 5th wheel? Thank you for any help or other recommendations.

RE: Number of Winter Texans at Valley RV parks drops

We also got tired of the area, the busted windshields are everywhere. Our problem was with the graffiti, trash, and overall dirty area. No pride by the people of the RGV, so we have no plan of returning.

RE: Be Our Guest---Resort Camping

We've done it before and will do it again when available. Our last one was in South Dakota and it was not high pressure. We were told it would be a 90 minute presentation, but it was very low keyed and only about 40 minutes long.

RE: RV Show today....Where is the creativity and innovation?

I think there is only so much you can do with a box on wheels. They could possibly upgrade with more modern products such as lighting, electronics, etc. but then we all complain about price. (Me included) I wish they would spend more time on exterior such as better, classy, graphics and paint jobs.

RE: blue sky rv insurance

We have Blue Sky as of last month, but have not any claims yet. I would hope that all the policy holders are somewhat protected by the insurance commission and state laws. All I can tell you is that they were friendly and helpful on the phone.

Good to know since we travel that part of I-40 often. When you get a chance, write a review on RvParkReviews.com for those that miss reading this post.

RE: KIVA RV Park in Tucumcari, NM

I found this RV park in Tucumcari NM, are you sure you have the right town? I know where Holbrook AZ is, but not Holbrook NM.
Dave
Thanks for correcting me, it's been a long trip. It is Tucumcari.

KIVA RV Park in Tucumcari, NM

While on our way to Las Vegas from Oklahoma this week, we stopped at KIVA AOK RV Park in Tucumcari, NM. There were many empty sites and we pretty well had the place to ourselves. The price was only $20 if you are members of nearly any RV club, which included full hookups, cable tv, and wifi that worked great. The new owners were very friendly and mentioned how it has been a tough winter for them. The park was nothing extra fancy, but is clean and safe for overnight or extended stays. If you are in the area, we recommend stopping there, and I know that they would appreciate the business. Just thought I would pass this on to help the traveling RVers and the park owners.

RE: Waste Valve 5th wheel montana 2008

I made three cuts on the belly pan and peeled it down, then used Gorilla tape to secure it back. Thank you Keystone for making repair or maintenance so difficult.

RE: Hanging Blueboy on Ladder

Guess I am in the minority again, but I would not hang it from the ladder just because of what it is. Yes I am a neat freak and I don't like things hanging all over the rig.

RE: RESERVATIONS IN ADVANCE?

We rarely make reservations when we travel and do not have problems. At most, we call when we are 1-2 hours away to see if spaces are available, and they normally are.

RE: North Texas Campsite Ideas??

Close to Ft. Worth is Loyd Park, which is operated by the city of Grand Prairie. From I-20, take hwy 360 bout 5 miles south. Very nice with plenty of camp sites, playgrounds, Joe Pool lake, and close to shopping, restaurants, and entertainment.

We will be workamping at Mt. View RV Resort starting in May, and after speaking with the owner a few times I can agree he seems to be a very nice man. This will be our first time there, but we are really looking forward to it. Hope to see you there!

When you head north, stop at Guadalupe River RV Resort in Kerrville, they have an on sight bar. We had a great time there a few years ago.
