RE: Analog to Digital Transition FAQ

Rather then try to find a digital 12 volt unit I suggest you buy an inverter with the correct amount of watts for a small flat pannel digital tv and power it with a battery that is charged during the day using a solar pannel. This works very well and is not very expensive. Especially if you already have the tv. BTW some people are not aware that you can use a computer flat screen (you can buy used ones cheap) and a converter that will allow tv signals or other video to be sent to it. Last one I bought was about $120 and had a remote control.

RE: Woodall's iPhone App is Available in the iTunes Store

This is a very usefull application and I am glad you posted the info here. I did download it already. One thought I have is that it would be great if you included a link to a server where users could post pictures from the parks they visit and they would be available when you are looking at the park view. This would be especially good if you could just IM the picture or email it along with the park name and it would then be available to anyone looking at that park.

RE: Garmin GPS deficiency

Interesting thread. I just read an article on GPS being wrong and causing a potentialy dangerous situation for someone who was traveling through Death Valley and was being totaly routed wrong, and could have run out of gas. Fortunatly they ran into someone who staightend them out.
My Garmin would occasionaly loose it's postion information and it would not be clear that it had, until I finally got to somewhere where there was a crossing major highway and I noticed that it wasn't showing on my GPS Map. This was especally true with long roads with few crossing roads or bends. Not sure why it would "lock up" like that.

RE: 2005 Keystone Hideout question about water tank fill/s

Hi,
I will crawl under again, however there is a black covering over the tanks, kind of a fiber board? or something. I am not sure how to remove it, but I will take another look at it. Anyway, there are two identicle "gravity" fills side by side and there is a tag above both of them that says fresh water. It definitly isn't a vent. The tank/s are vented as part of the fill (next to it in the indented area - the little black holes in the picture). I know this because when I filled the right one when it was full water squired out of that hole.
I am fairly sure there are two tanks because there are two drain valves underneath that area. There is only one pump (that I know about) so I do beleive that they must be connected to each other, but I also wonder why there are two fills. Unless there is a second pump somewhere that I haven't seen. Maybe for the shower? I will attach a picture to this, but I am not sure that will help. I was hopeing that another owner with this same trailer would know about this.
The reason for my concern is that it doesn't seem like water should gush out on the ground when I put the hose in the left fill. I am concerned that when they winterized maybe they didn't do it correctly and the left tank was damaged and is the reason for the gushing water. The dealer is trying to tell me that this is a vent overflow when I called him today but that doesn't make sense to me when the right tank definitly vents next to the fill hole. Thanks again for the help. "c:\users\SirKnite\Desktop\waterfill.jpg"

RE: 2005 Keystone Hideout question about water tank fill/s

Thank you for your reply. I guess I need to make it more clear. I am talking about where you fill the fresh water tank. There are two places to fill the fresh water tank and they are side by side. What I am wondering is are both used. In other words are there two fresh water tanks as this would seem to indicate. One of them seems to be fine and I do have fresh water when I turn on the pump and open a faucet. The other one is gushing water under the trailer when I try to fill it. Like the pipe is not attached to anything but is a spare or something.
I do have a city water connection and it does work. But I really need to know about the second fill that is gushing water when I try to fill it.
Thanks.

2005 Keystone Hideout question about water tank fill/s

Hi,
I am new to this so I need some help. We purchased the Keystone Hideout 27 FLSH and I am getting it ready for our first outing.
My question is: There are two fill connections for the water tank on the door side of the trailer. One seems to fill the fresh water tank. The other spills water (it gushes) from under the trailer onto the ground. Should both of these be used? That is are there two water tanks besides the hot water heater? Did one of the tanks get ruptured due to not being winterized properly? It was winterized by the RV dealer so I would think it was done correctly. I was just flushing the system and putting fresh water into the tank when I found this problem. Anyone else have this trailer and can tell me if both fills are supposted to be used.
Thanks.
