RE: FLAT TIRE!!!!!!

I believe the best answer is to call your ERS provider and have a coffee while you wait.
I'm with you on that one:C

RE: Who reads Trailer life mag?

Go to library or Barnes & Noble and check it out the magazine rack.
Pat
I went to a Barnes & Noble in the Tampa area yesterday looking for RV mags, and they didn't have a single one!

RE: 2007 Pilgrim 278rlss

I have a 2008 Pilgrim 1500Lite 27PRB.
I bought it used last Nov from a dealer, and at first, he couldn't find the manual. I tried everything on line to find one. Finally several days later he called to tell me to pick it up with extra keys.
The manual is generic for all the models with just basic info, and a complete waste of time! You would be better off getting the make and model of all your appliances, and go to the manufacturers sites. Most of them have PDF files that you can download.
BTW! Pilgrim International went out of business 2008.

RE: Fiberglass or aluminum siding

I just bought a new to me fiberglass TT.
Looked at lots(100) of trailers over a 3 week period, and the main problem I saw was leaking around the slide area, and very few had delamination problems!
I got quite an education on both types of siding. The general rule of thumb was that the cage(wall, roof, floor) of the aluminum siding was made of wood, and the fiberglass/gelcoat siding was made of bonded aluminum.
I think if you do have a leak with the aluminum frame, you still have major frame integrity, and will be easier to repair, instead of a rotted wooden frame!
I should know because I have a Lance TC with aluminum siding and wooden frame.

Most uncomfortable dinette cushions, ever!

I got my 2008 Pilgrim TT several days ago, and can not sit at the dinette table for any period of time before I get bad lower back pain! The seat cushions give no support, and you just sink into them.
It's not just this TT, but most of the travel trailers we looked at.
What do you do to resolve this problem? What are the manufacturers thinking?

Thinking of buying a 2007 Forest River Surveyor SV280?

Looking at a used 2007 Forest River Surveyor SV280.
Does anyone here have this model,or similar one of the same year?
This camper is in very nice conditon from a dealer who wants $13,000 before taxes etc.
I gave him a deposit, before obligating myself.
I have no idea what it's worth, and could find out very little as far as spec's and MSRP. Even NADA doesn't list this model.
Can anyone owning this trailer tell me anything good or bad about this brand and model?

RE: printer

I use a Brother 490CW wireless printer, scanner, copier, fax. got it at Pamida last year for 59 dollars
With all of these units, it's not the initial price, but the cost of replacement ink!
I also have this Brothers unit. It uses the LC-61 ink cartridges, that if bought from Brothers oem is very expensive.
If you go online and google this number you'll find after market ink cheap!
Did I say cheap, 3 sets (3 colors+black) shipped for under $20, and they work as good, and last as long as the oem in
I also wanted to add that these cartridges are brand new, not refills.
Can you provide website link for ink purchases?
I don't think its allowed on here to name a merchant, or site, but put your cartridge type into Google, and loads of them will come up on that favorite auction site.
I did make 1 typo in my post, it should have been 2 sets(3 colors+black) plus 2 extra blacks for under $20, still a good deal!

RE: No power on main TV in my Newmar 3856

Maybe the power supply in the tv is gone.
Did you try something else in the outlet, or use a vom meter to check if you were getting voltage?
Did the tv work before in this a/c outlet?

RE: living in a truck camper

You just described whats sitting in our driveway waiting to head for AZ next week.To bad we will lose the HD sat after we drive away.
Gary have a great trip!
You should still be able to watch the network channels in HD with your roof antenna, if your close enough to one of the bigger cities.

Gary, I think Paul is being facetious about my post!
I think he is trying to say, that when you camp, you shouldn't have all the amenities of home!
Your suppose to sit out under the stars and roast marshmallows over the fire and sing Kumbayah :h

RE: living in a truck camper

Last winter we spent 4 months in Florida staying in our Lance 835 no slide 8.5' off the truck. Just the 2 of us and the cat!
We are going to do the same thing this winter, but for 6 months while we look for a travel/park trailer to leave at the RV park year around.
The camper is small, and you have to learn to get around each other, but is cozy. We have High speed wireless internet, HD tv with all the HD premium channels, A/C, queen size bed, hot water shower, what else could you ask for?
The only thing is, when we get home, the house feels like the Taj Mahal:)

RE: last trip of '11 to lancaster,pa area

Everytime we go to Lancaster county, it's a must to go to Miller's Smorgasbord in Ronks.
It's all you can eat, and the food is amazing! It's the only time in my life that I can remember getting really sick from overeating, but that never stopped me. The food is that good!

RE: Use a laptop or netbook for navigating?

I find this topic very entertaining!
Using a laptop for navigating is old school.
When trying to cover many miles I can't be playing with a laptop!
The DW drives me crazy, she is a paper navigator, and is always yelling that the GPS is crazy, taking us out of the way, etc.
The bottom line is, the gps saves her A$$ to get us back on track when her paper map short cuts get us lost!
She still hasn't given into the new fangled devices yet, and may never still, I still love her even if she does drives me crazy!

RE: 2006 Lance 915 electrical phenomena

It sounds like the converter is on the way out.
Even though you have 119vac on the vom meter, you still might have a bad ground fault.
When I go to an RV park, before I plug into their shore power, I carry a cheap ground fault/circuit tester I bought at WallyWorld with an adapter for 30amp rv plug for under $12, and use the vom meter to test the voltage output. I've had to change sites several times because of electrical problems.

RE: Where Were You 10 Years Ago Today?

Actually 9/11/01 happened today a Tuesday in 2001!
I use to live on Long Island, and took a long weekend off to visit my best friend who still did at the time.
I came home Monday morning going over the Tappan Zee Bridge and looking at the twin towers for the very last time.
Tueday was a warm sunny perfect day, until a friend called on the phone and asked if I had the tv on?
I was just in time for the plane hitting the second tower!
Very sad.

RE: Supersonic tv for trailer.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner.
I don't remember the vendor off hand and can't find the paper work for it, it was almost 2 years ago.
Google the vendor your going to buy it from and see if they have any complaints.
