RE: Repairing Cracks in Fiberglass

Thanks everyone. I like the Frankenstein approach. I think it will make it look tougher? They say "Chicks dig scars"!

Repairing Cracks in Fiberglass

As I was waxing the TH this past weekend I noticed that I'm starting to see some hairline cracks in the wheel well flares and along the corners on the front cap. (WW FSW2800)
Does anyone know if there is something I can do to avoid them from spreading or eliminate moisture from getting into the cracks and causing damage? The TH is still in great condition and I would like to keep it that way as best as possible. I would prefer not to do any major fabrications, but I would also like to do it the right way.
Any suggestion or ideas are greatly appreciated.

RE: What did you do to your Toy Hauler today???

Unfortunately I got it ready to put into hibernation for the winter. Washed the Exterior and spent two days waxing the thing. Wholly******next time I'm getting a TENT. I didn't realize how big it was till I started waxing and I swear it grew during the process!
Blew out all the water lines and poured in the antifreeze in an attempt to reduce any leak repairs next spring.
Sadly it only got used twice this year. But we enjoyed both times.

RE: Camping newbie, scheduled to take delivery on Wed 7/20

Sounds like we will/may have the same set up. I bought the FSW2800 last year, with some reservations due to all the issues I read about, but to date, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Our's is an 07 and has the triple axle. I have a 07 Dodge 2500 with Cummins and 6 speed. If I'm running empty I can probably tow in 6th gear, but I usually just put the tow haul on and call it good. It tows like a dream, but as others have said they are a heavy trailer.
I think I got lucky on mine, because the previous owner was as anal as I am and over sealed the front, as well as all the other openings on the roof. To date, not a single leak.
The one thing I would suggest is if you make the purchase to buy a 14K equalizer hitch, because the tongue weight gets up there when you put water in and don't offset it with toys in the back.
Again, we have been more than pleased with our purchase! Best of luck to you and yours. I hope you have the same experience we have had.

RE: WW , Overall Quality Still Good ?

I have an 07 WW FSW 2800 and have been very pleased to date. I purchased it last Feb with some reservations since the company has gone out of business, however, I've been pleasantly surprised with the quality. As with any RV, there are issues, but nothing severe enough to make me regret my purchase.
Although the model is FSW 2800 it measures out at just over 30" without the tongue. I know they also make a FSW3000, which would measure closer to the 32 your looking at. I've seen some with slides, but I suspect those were special order and pretty rare?
Good luck. Hope this helped

RE: place for atv and grand kids in moab utah

If you are looking to dry camp there is a great place right before you get to Moab on highway 313 at approximately Mineral Bottom Road. It's on the road going to Dead Horse point. It is a HUGE plateu that alot of people camp on. It's off on a little dirt road, but very accessible. There were 40' MH with trailers on it.
Not much water around, but one of the trail lead you right down along the green river, and depending on the heighth of the river might find something calm to get in an play around? The one caution is with the little ones, you are on a Plateau, meaing there are areas that drop off 75 - 100 Ft. The roads don't come close, but kids are curious? I wish I knew the name of it, if it has one, but it's pretty easy to pick out on the right side of the road.
Otherwise, from a campground standpoint, there is only one that I'm aware of that offer direct access to trails without trailering OHV's to another location and it is also a few miles before you get to Moab.
Great riding, spectacular views, you will LOVE it.
