RE: Wisconsin repeals fee for train pulls

I'm glad they did away with the requirement to pay a fee for a permit to double tow. I'm even happier that I never got caught doing it without the permit.
CB what have you been up to? I guess i should stop by and visit for awhile.

Free RV site in Wasilla, Alaska

We have an opening for a mature retired couple (non-smokers, no pets) to be our guests on our private lake property five miles east of Wasilla, AK during the summer of 2012. We own and operate a small aviation company situated on five beautiful fenced private acres nestled in a secluded cove located on the south shore of Anderson Lake, with fantastic views of the Talkeetna mountain range to the north. Our location is quiet, safe and close to many of the same stores that you probably have in your neighborhood.
Our offer to you is an established RV site with water, sewer, and electric hookups at no charge in exchange for occasional property sitting. We need you to be onsite/ close by as caretaker for our facility and hangar kitty while we are away two days per week (Sunday and Monday, those are our days off). We would like you to be here by Memorial Day and stay through Labor Day. We are flexible to the actual dates so call and see what will work best for all.
That’s it! Tuesday thru Saturday the State of Alaska is yours to tour or enjoy however you see fit. Or if relaxing on the lake floating in your canoe or wetting a line appeals to you those are also great ways to enjoy our Alaskan summer.
Lastly, while you are away enjoying this Great State you can rest assured any properties left behind will be safe and secure inside our gated property.
We look forward to talking with you.

RE: winterization?

First drain the fresh water tank, then the hot water heater. next turn the hot water heater by-pass. Then open all the low point drains (should be locate near the passenger side tires. Now open all the faucets and pump in the antifreeze..........don't forget the toilet and outside shower. If your Laredo is like ours there is also a valve near the pump that isolates the fresh water tank from pumping antifreeze into it.

RE: Generator Extended Run Fuel Tank

Have you called WISE SALES 800 916-9473 and ask them. They carry lots of different extended fuel tanks for the Honda and Yamaha generators.

RE: Adjusting the brakes - Technical question?

I have installed the self adjusting brakes on our old Cougar and loved them. As soon as our new Laredo needs brakes they will be replaced with the self adjusting ones.
Also you can get them a lot cheaper than $99.00 if you go here:

RE: Battery charger on 32 RS Loredo

I installed a toggle switch on the 12volt charge line that goes from the converter to the batteries. When I use my inverter I turn the switch off. This way everything still works but the converter is no longer trying to charge the batteries while the inverter is on.

RE: Tires? What is the problem?

I have never had a blowout either, but I have had three flat tires due to road debris. I found the damaged tires by doing a walk around inspection during normal stops. I have also had uneven tire wear due to misalignment when returning from Alaska. Hit to many chuck holes and frost heaves.

RE: Trailer Wheel Alignment?

Lots of advice and guessing on here. Just take it to a truck alignment shop and have them check it out.

RE: Another electric brake question

You can purchase new backing plates complete with shoes, magnets, and all. Plus they now come with self adjusting brakes. It is cheaper to buy the complete backing plate kits then individual parts. Any good heavy trailer supply company should have them in stock for around $60.00 per each backing plate. I would not have the drums turned I would buy new ones if yours are bad. JMHO

RE: where is fresh water drain

Should be three drains underneath your fiver. The most rear one is the fresh water tank. The two near the tires are low point drains for when you winterize the unit.

If it is the cheaper wireless one and your trailer is very long it may not work. I suggest you go to RV.com and checkout their backup cameras.

RE: Battery/inverter

I had to install a on/off switch on the 12volt charge line from the converter to the batteries. When you are using your inverter the converter is trying to charge the batteries if you do not isolate it. When I use my inverter/solar/batteries setup I can keep the converter from trying to charge the batteries by turning off the switch.
