RE: Just Priced New Tires ! OUCH!

I got 6 michelin tires at cost from a friend of mine at $2800.00 and another 400.00 to get them mounted and balanced. Michelin 295/80R 22.5.
Were they new tires and how long ago ?? That's cheap !!

Yes it is plugged in shore power and i did manually set it to a/c,
Just went to re check and it does work on Lp for the last 20 minutes but when it's switched to A/C that's when the alarm goes off.

Do you have to have propane for the fridge to work on AC only?? Fridge must have been left on propane setting and is empty. Set it to AC setting and am getting a code and audible alarm The code is not really legible ?? any thoughts??

RE: Just Priced New Tires ! OUCH!

This thread is filled with bogus information. Why don't we all go to the manufacturers web sites and get it correct? Then check the availability of the tires you have chosen.
I had a difficult time getting 295/80/22.5 Mich XZA2. They were on backorder at that time. None of the local tire dealers of any brand had this size in stock except for the G670 Goodyear that I would not take for free unless I was allowed to sell them.
Bluebird I am the OP of this subject. I was wondering if u waited for the backorder to come through or if you went a different route? thanks. Also if you did get the Michelin what was the cost and how long ago ..

RE: Just Priced New Tires ! OUCH!

I also need 6 295/80R22.5 tires. I currently have Michelins and have checked several tires manufacturers. Toyo has nothing in that size for my RV (I emailed them for their recommendation, their response, "nothing in that size for a Motor Home" Bridgestone is the same price, I don't want Goodyears (I had a set that "rivered") and have seen several others that are. Hankook does not carry enough weight capacity in my size. I am leaning toward the Michelin's as I don't want Double coin or Hercules as they have not proven they are reliable to me, I repeat, to me. So it the same price as the OP stated, just shy of $700. each. Those are my findings, Bill Toyo's 12R-22.5 is only .1 different in DIAMETER and is a PERFECT swap for 295-80's. I should know..I went from the Toyo's to the 295-80's!!
Sully I was wondering if you made the switch from the Toyo's to the 295-80's recently and if so what kind of price did you pay ?? I live in Louisville and am not that far from Cincy. Thanks

RE: Camping World on verge of explosive growth - Part 2

It seems to me that since there's only a one time buy in, with no monthly franchise fees ala KOA, that the campgrounds that choose to join would have little incentive to raise prices. Since there will be both "resorts" and "campgrounds" under the GS banner, I'd think there will be a fit for nearly all types of RV's somewhere.
Like i posted above I think it's a great idea, and with what you have said about no monthly franchise fees it does make sense that there is no reason to become like the KOA's in their pricing structure.. Let's keep our fingers crossed !!

RE: Camping World on verge of explosive growth - Part 2

sounds like a good idea trying to work off what KOA has done, but I just hope the fees don't go up for camping.. KOA is severely over priced for what you get.. they really have a problem with nickle and dime n you to death... I always choose Good Sams Parks over Koa !!

RE: Just Priced New Tires ! OUCH!

People just don't get it!!! It is apples and oranges if you have anything to say about a tire NOT the size that the op is mentioning. Tire prices vary a tremendous amount. The 295/22.5 and larger are QUITE a bit more than anything smaller in size.
Also if you bought tires last year........don't even waste your time posting....that pricing means NOTHING as tires have taken a tremendous price increase
sc3238, maybe the prices aren't that bad that I posted, if tires have jumped so much since 2011. Thanks for posting..

RE: Just Priced New Tires ! OUCH!

Just priced new tires.. Michelin 295/80R 22.5 thru the Michelin Advantage Program $679 ( not using the Advantage Program $750.) Goodyear 670's were $633. These prices were tires only.. Any thoughts or comparisions ?? Thanks
If you'd like to consider buying just the tire and not the name,
check out the Hankook line for beginners.
Honestly I have never heard of Hankook line of tires, I've always used Goodyear or Michelin. Probably need to do some research on them and see if anyone in my town sells them.. Just price would never be a factor when we're talking about such a heavy machine going down the road.. Just can't put a price on safety !!

RE: Direct TV Monthly Fees ...

I don't have HD or a DVR....doesn't really interest me...but I do have 4 receivers....one in the garage that I will be taking to use in the TT....I smoke cigars so in the winter time I have to hibernate in the garage to watch tv and smoke....DW has some problem with cigar smoke in the house...go figure. I have been with DTV for 3 years so it's time to call them and see what kind of a break I can get!
Good luck on seeing what kind of break they will give you for being a customer for 3 years.. I was a 10 yr. plus and they wouldn't give me squat !! So I cancelled...

RE: Gen-turi Generator Exhaust System

They are made out of pvc and don't get hot, maybe warm by the base. My exhaust also is like yous, so i get a couple of those suction cups with hooks and rig small bungees in a couple of spots.. works for me.. Rarely use mine unless we are at the races where the spots are small, although I never leave home without it ,just in case..

I don't think I have heard of this for neuropathy, lots of other ailments though.
I also have it and it's no fun. it affects the circulation, starts in the feet and works it's way up the legs and is irreversible..
