RE: Dynatrac or Double Coin tires

I have double coins on our mh and have no complaints about them. They were what Les Schaub had avalible at the time I needed the first tire and just got the rest to match. Took them from Northwest Washington to Yellowstone and back then to Salt Lake City and back all around the western part of Washington last summer and then down to Hondo Texas. They still look good and handle good. I am quite pleased with them.

RE: Emergency panic stop !

Dennis, With my original post I was confused a little bit about a few things. That is why I tried to put my post in question form and then my thoughts to try to explain what my thinking was. Now that I understand that the light turned red after you were stopped it makes more sense to me. I realize that I don't have the right grasp of what really happened. Once again I am glad that you were able to avoid hitting anyone. Keep the driving safe and keep alert as the only thing that we know about the other driver is that they are able to do anything that is unsafe or dangerous.

RE: Emergency panic stop !

I don't know if I am reading this right- the car cut you off then locked up the brakes to stop at the stop light because they saw a cop. When did you start stopping? Were you going to blow through the intersection and assume that the light would still be amber when you got through the intersection? As far as I can remember the amber light is a warning that the light is going to turn red and you are supposed to stop. If you are in the intersection and the light turns red you are running the red light. If as soon as the car pulled in front of you they hit the brakes because the light was amber you should have been stopping already also. If this was the situation then you are as much at fault as the car driver. I am glad that the stopping worked out as well as it did. Some people are just plain stupid. I was in Portland last year driving 35 down the road when a guy walked out right in front of us. We missed him but anything not tied down moved. Drive safely and enjoy your travels.

RE: atwood 6 gallon water heater element replacement

what size is the element? Is the element like a regular element for a residential wh?If it is you should be able to use a socket on it. For a residential wh there is a cheap socket that you can buy at the hardware store for about $5 and then you use a rod to turn it. Good luck.

RE: Water Filters

It depends on what you want to take out. Different places have different things in their water. What I learned as a plumber was if we wanted to filter some water first we would take a sample to find out what we needed to take out. Most parks that I have been in the water is city water so bacteria is not a big problem as a rule so you really don't need a RO filter. If the water is hard then you need to soften the water and I don't think that a water softener in a rv is a practical solution.

RE: Electrical Box/Plug Design Mismatch

I think that the handle is there for the people who couldn't grip the plug and pull it out. The nice thing about the box that is shown in this thread is that with the cover laying on the plug it still keeps rain out of the box.

RE: Undercabinet Coffee Maker, Any Good or Bad?

ours is mounted right into the cabnet above the sink. It is a 1986 mh and there is no problem with moisture anywhere. I hope that it never quits because I can't see anywhere to get a new one.

RE: Heartland don't work with you...... :(

I may be a little slow here but when did you tell Heartland that you wanted different windows than what is standard? When did they tell you that they wouldn't put in the windows that you wanted? I would think that this should be worked out before you sign any paperwork on the purchase or give them any money. It also sounds to me that you are one of those people who think the customer is always right and that just is not so. Yes the mfg needs customers but you want a custom built rig without paying the custom built price. How much would you be willing to pay for the windows that you want? You said that an aftermarket installer would change them for $1500 so what do you think that Heatland should charge for doing this?

RE: Help with Emergency Start button

On our mh the relay is right by the house batteries. When the relay didn't work I would use my jumper cables to jump from the batt. to the chassis side of the solinoid. I took my solinoid to NAPA and matched it up with one they had that worked. It now works good.

RE: Water Heater tank

Propane will work. I think that the one I found was from American Rv, and that was where I got my new tank last Sept. There is a way that the tankless water heater vents I just couldn't afford to go tankless unfortionately. I really wanted to go tankless as they are really cheaper to run.

RE: Air Bladder with water pump

If there is an air nozzle on the tank then you can just use and maintain it likea bladder tank in a residential pump system. You set the air pressure in the tank to 2psi less than the pump pressure. Also fix the water leak asap.

RE: Death wish

Love our Oregon Coast. So much to do and so many pictures to take. If you drive thru Lincoln City, stop at Pier One Restaurant for some great sea food or mouth watering Prime Rib.
Shame on you, don't you know that prime rib comes from dead cows?:B
Jim E That is much better than trying to eat a live cow. They just won't lay still on the plate.

RE: Water Heater tank

Not only do they use a ton of amps they will only raise the water temp about 40-45 degrees. I don't think that you will get hot enough water to shower. If you are going to install a tankless water heater then put in a propane water heater but that is going to run around $1200. If I could have afforded it I would have put one in instead of the water heater I did. Good luck on your tank.

RE: Problems with Thousand Trails Club

How long from the time you bought in did you go to use the park? If it was over the 30 days then I would say that you are out of luck. We have been members for many years and don't have a problem with them. We have stayed at several of their resorts over the years and they run from parking lot camping to very nice resorts to rustic campgrounds. But that being said TT is not for everyone. Have fun camping.

By the wind, I like the set up that you have. With the tow vehicle and the trailer it looks like a race car set. What do you have in the trailer? Just curious.
