RE: May leave RGV early

WOW! Life has a way of changing directions in a heartbeat... no pun intended.
Taking care of your own health has now become your priority. I hope they found the cause of your chest pain.
We have found Renaissance Hospital in Edinburgh to be the best for heart and many other issues.
Thanks for the update.

RE: May leave RGV early

You are a good friend. You should go and enjoy your time with your friend while he is still able to do this.

Recommend you do not go. Lots of violence in that town.

RE: Crossing into Progresso, Mexico with Mobility Scooters

Thank you for responding. We have a lot to learn.
You are welcome. You have come to the right place to get your questions answered.
Also you will not have to go through any turnstiles. They have other openings for scooters and wheel chairs or anyone who can not manuever the turnstiles.

RE: GREAT Tenderloin sandwich in Mission?

6 of our friends were at the Riverside Club late yesterday afternoon and confirmed the tenderloins are still huge and very meaty. They said they were as big as a dinner plate.

RE: Best RV Park in RGV

@ Paul 1944 Did you go to Gonzales Burgers on Wednesday after they closed?
Yep, sure did. Sorry we couldn't get one of the FAMOUS burgers.
You will have to go back they are worth it.
We happened to be leaving at the time you drove up and I briefly talked to your wife and she mentioned you had learned about it from the RV.Net Forum.

RE: RGV CG w/tavern on property?

Have you been to the Cactus Club at Victoria Palms? Or the 2 or 3 dances a week in the Ballroom where you can bring your own bottle? If that doesn't fill your need there is the Horseman Saloon down the road north of the freeway on Westgate. I would suggest The Horseman on Wednesdays and the End of The Trail Bar on Thursday. I think that should cover most of the week. Oh and " Happy Hour " at the pool at VP on Wednesdays with entertainment.

RE: Frustrations with Good Sam ERS on I-65

Our experience with tires. Dh noticed separation in one of our tires last winter on our trip south for the winter. We were lucky he found it while doing his morning walk around before getting back on the road. It was a Saturday morning. After a lot of searching we were able to find a truck tire place which had a service truck nearby. The guy was there within an hour or so. He led us to their shop where we were able to park until new tires could be delivered Momday. Our tires had been on the mh 5 years but according to the date they were 6 years old. They had 30000 miles on them. They had dry rotted on the inside even though the tread looked good. He keeps them off the ground while parked. If one goes bad chances are the rest will too. Keep a close watch on them if you don't replace all of them. Safe travels!

RE: Discount membership advised for RGV?

We don't use Passport America while we are in the RGV as we also tried different areas and different Parks down here and have now settled in to a Park we like but we do use it while traveling to and from the RGV and it has paid for itself with just that. We think it is a good investment.
Come on down and try the different Parks and different areas of the RGV and you will eventually find the one that has the right fit for you. There are sooo many to choose from ~ over 500.
Have a safe trip down!

Victoria Palms Ballroom Donna, Texas

For those who like to come to dances at Victoria Palms but did not like their Policy on bringing your cooler the following is taken from an email I recieved yesterday and I know it to be true as we took a cooler to a dance last Friday.
"ALL Dances (Mon, Tues & Fri nights) will be BYOB for the month of December only.
This DOES NOT include the New Years Eve dance.
So you may bring your own wine, beer and liquor to these regular dances.
Soft drinks, water, juice, ice cream & popcorn will be sold at the bar. Ice is Free."

RE: Happy Thanksgiving, snowbirds!

Another "Happy Thanksgiving" wish to all the Snowbirds out there!
The first Holiday away from family is hard but with skype and phone calls it makes it easier. Enjoy the warmth of the weather and the friendship of other snowbirders as we remember all that we have to be thankful for.
