RE: White smoke exhaust cold start 2006 PSD. Liquid in exhaust.

Think on the Ford IDS, there is a reading for "Maxtorque" which is the maximum amount of torque ever recorded by the transmission.
That is the first data point I check before I check OASIS.
If that number is higher than factory spec, it has been tuned.
does that data clear if you remove the battery s and turn the lights on for 2 min? That clears the PCM/TCM tables.

RE: White smoke exhaust cold start 2006 PSD. Liquid in exhaust.

I think the OP is dumping the whole enchilada.
Now it has a scared Oasis report, so I do feel bad for the next guy to picks up this truck...that is unless this dealer decides they have to do a little work to this truck.

RE: White smoke exhaust cold start 2006 PSD. Liquid in exhaust.

Howdy back from the world's worst procrastinator. Maybe that should be the best procrastinator. I finally completed the simple test for bad EGR Cooler or Head Gaskets posted by Bullet Proof Diesel that Turtle n Peeps linked way back at the beginning. Skip to last paragraph for the fast answer.
Thanks again to all who tried to help. Faster action on my part would have gotten me the answer in a few days instead of months. Couldn't find a rubber cork for a long time. Being retired and having a golf cart in the garage, I put off getting the bad news for a looong time as I did other things, worked on ways to finance the job, use substitutes for the rubber cork and just plain stalled for a long time. Found the cork last week in a specialty items bin at Lowe's, drilled the hole for the tube, and blew the test procedures. First it was sucking water out of the bottle. Think for a day or two. Added plenty of water. Started blowing water out instead of air like the video stated. Not a clue!! Opps. Maybe I should have the tube above water level.
Ran test with turbo connected, then with it disconnected, then with it reconnected. End result. Good news, apparently. Results of the test indicated that the HGs are okay and it is just the EGR Cooler.
Thanks again to all, especially Turtle for the link that gave me the final answer. I call for a tow and repairs tomorrow. You didn't think I was ready to quit stalling, did you??
Glad it wasn't the head gaskets.
Are you going to do a delete or are you going to replace the coolers?
Hope you get your truck back soon. If you decide to do upgrades let me know and I'll see if I can steer you in the right direction.
Likewise, I could also assist in some of these "upgrades".
I was actually going to send him to you RR!!! LOL, great minds think alike. :W How is that beautiful truck of yours doing?
The KR is shinny!
To the OP
This is ERG I used for one of my mods
EGR Delete Kit
Shop around for the ARP's, you can get them for a good deal if you do a search for them. I recommend rebuilding the oil cooler with a new upgrade kit from Ford...and also doing the head gasket, using the Ford stock one as a replacement. The Black Onyx ones are proving to be not very good.
If you would like more detail, send me a PM.

RE: Pressure Washing

Any of you guys (besides rollingrock :B ) use a pressure washer to clean your trucks and or RV’s ? I’ve always been the kind who don’t use car wash’s, ( like it would fit ) always done by hand.
Finally got around to getting one for the house and it sure seems like it could do some damage to a vehicle with improper use.
Any good, bad advice is appreciated.
Nice.
You can but turn down the pressure way down and never point the wand directly at the paint, this drives dirt and other contaminates into the paint..try to wash in a down angle away from the paint.
Best way to wash is always the two bucket method with a good car soap and quality microfiber cloth.
Most paint problems come from poor washing and drying. Using Cotton to dry is a major no no.
If you want more info, I can point you in the right direction. It may take a little investment, like 2 5 gal buckets, some quality MF's and some for drying you will be all set and looking all "rollingrockesk" :)

RE: Well....it happened. My 06 6.oh....

132K on truck, 100K on motor.
Now this sounds exactly like ours, but we unfortunately sold them too soon I guess at ~30k.
Congrats RR. As you know, I'm a big fan of doing the 6.0 right and you did it up right.
You will see many many more trouble free miles I'm sure
Ditto.
Your lying! There is no such thing as a 6.0 that runs, much less one with 100K miles on it. You must have used photoshop on that odo!
With all the money he spent on it, photoshop was neither needed or in the budget :B
Congrats RR
Thanks man.
We'd buy any of the new trucks right now (given a lotto win or a major issue), its awesome that we have so many great choices. That said, I am tad partial to the new GMC's

I had to pull over and take the photo..., crossed my fingers and went on my way.
Shortly after I pulled over again.

I turned it off, walked around it to make sure I wasn't puking coolant, made sure the the engine was still there...then crossed my fingers again, sure enough the old King Ranch fired right up.
LOL
Glad to be in the 100K club now!

RE: Do you still love your old truck?

I do love my King Ranch.
Having OCD, i keep my truck pretty clean...I do get questioned from time to time on the year of my truck, always brings a smile to my face when i tell them and see their reaction.
I am 200 miles from 100K.

RE: 2003/2004 Ford F250 Superduty??

To my regret I am jumping in here...
Not all the 6.0's are bad...that said, many are. That also said, if the price is right, buy it, then throw 2500.00 in the following:
EGR delete
remove the kitty
install ARP Headstuds
replace headgasket with Ford (Avoid the Black Onyx ones, they are crap)
rebuild the oil cooler with the new upgraded kit from Ford
Do the blue spring upgrade on the top side fuel filter (15.00 bucks)
Check to make sure the FICM is good and showing 48 volts and put new batterys in there.
Do those things and you will have a great motor in that truck.
Then tune with a reputable tuner (Innovative Diesel, Troyer, Diesel Pro's, Tony Wildman etc)
Rollingrock...was never here.

RE: Big week for the 06 6 Oh

Are you really apologizing for having a dirty truck? That's why we have trucks, to get them dirty, haul stuff around and to WORK. Wash the truck a few times a year to get the big chunks of mud off, otherwise that's what it's made for. I like the finned cover!
yes I am, I am very OCD about keeping it clean and polished/protected which includes, the wheels, wells and engine bay. I run a Detailing Community Forum to share my OCD affliction. :)

RE: Big week for the 06 6 Oh

I think the new cover looks nice.
The diff cover looks very nice but your spare tire sure is a mess. ;) (just yanking your chain BTW)
I really debated putting this photo up showing how dirty my undercarraige is...I have been working out at the ranch and its been really muddy and dusty out there the past 4 months...I plan to steam clean the undercarraige after Turkey Season...

Big week for the 06 6 Oh

Now that I have you looking....LOL...the 6.0 is just fine, just added another upgrade this week.
After I put on the new Bilstein 5100's...well, I just couldn't stop there.
I went ahead today and picked up the Mag-Hytec rear Diff cover and did all the fluid changes. Went with the Royal Purple for the rear and front.
I think the new cover looks nice.

RE: New shock swap

Way further west than Zephyr. I live about 35 miles east of Lubbock. So I guess to be technical, the South Plains- although many Texans consider anything west of Fort Worth to be West TX.
Funny, BC we live in the FW area, West for us is anything West of Ranger Hill.
