RE: Additional charge for electricity

Was the campground in the desert? We stayed somewhere that charged separately for electricity for our 9 night stay, but we were told that when we made the reservation. They also "adjusted" the charge when it exceeded what we were told to expect. And we did run the air conditioners quite a bit. No complaints on our part.

RE: Permanently wired shore power line?

Sometimes there is a cut-out on the bottom frame of the bin. You put the power cord in there and close the door. I had a friend who put one in himself. Not difficult.

RE: Anaheim, Ca. Rally April 13-15, 2012

Seriously, Let's get some life in this. Who's thinking about coming in early? Thursday night is usually available for any of the attendees if you want to come in a day early.

RE: Colter Bay at Jackson lake vs Riverside at Whistler

If you are looking for "typical" things to do you probably don't want to go to Colter Bay. There is nothing typical about Yellowstone and Grand Teton National parks. That area is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places on earth. We spent a week at Colter Bay with our 17 year old grandson and were on the go from early morning to evening.

RE: Camping Too Much Trouble?.......How Sad

I could understand that reasoning from someone who doesn't own an RV. But if you have one, either use it or sell it.

RE: Is HD TV That Important

What type of programming you are watching makes a difference. I like HD for sports. It gives more of a feeling of being there, without paying the outrageous prices for a ticket.

RE: Learn Something New Every Day...

I do IT support. First thing I check is "is it plugged in?". Then work my way up through the obvious/easy stuff. I finally figured out that if it works for IT support, it works for any kind of trouble shooting.

It's spooky quiet in here!!!!! Dwight's probably been busy practicing the Hula dance he is going to do for the talent show.

RE: Route 66

We did some stretches of it in Arizona last weekend in our car. The section from Oatman, AZ towards Laughlin, NV is very scenic, but I would do it in your toad.

RE: Can I whine?

To answer your question "do people in other states have this problem too?" Yes, in southern California trying to get a spot along the water in the summer is very difficult, even if you are trying to make a reservation months in advance. Fortunately we like camping year round and are blessed with the weather for that here, so we don't do much during the summer.

RE: A Parallel between flying and RVing.

Took a road trip in the Prius this weekend. Must have had a pretty good head wind because I was only getting 75 MPG going downhill, instead of 100 MPG.

Eating places Kingman, AZ

Any suggestions for a good place for dinner in Kingman, Az? Route 66 atmosphere would be cool if the food is good. Thx

RE: Dinette -- Curb or Street Side?

Ours is street side, although we would much rather have it on the curb side. But it was one of those compromises you make when everything else is "right". And looking at new mh's over the years they seem to make the vast majority with the dinette on the street side.

RE: Anaheim, Ca. Rally April 13-15, 2012

Hey Ray....its all pretty simple but I thought Id give Tom approval just to ease his mind. You make your reservations and anyone can go including Tom hehe lol I mean events like these could cause flashbacks to those older folks(Tom,Lee, Mike as examples)..it could even bring them back to those "hippie" days. ****** I already know Im as old if not older than those named ******* I wouldn't have to stay up til midnight would I?

RE: New bed-removing old

We had a new mattress delivered and the delivery guys took the old queen out and put the new queen in with no problems at all. And the old one was similar to a sleep number and I would never have another one. Too many problems

I know Vince, Im concerned too! Are you running a fever Tom? Anyways...I thought with all my excitement about Vegas on New Year's, maybe I could stir up some interest in others joining us next year up there?? Ok Ok, I know its a whole year away....but what the heck! Actually, just getting over a cold. But don't worry, I will be back to "normal" by rally time. And you are peaking my interest about Vegas. I will have to run it by "she who must be obeyed" and get some feed back. Of course that's assuming I was included in the invite.

Hey Tom....since the extent of my gambling is those God awful penny slots, I did OK or at least I didnt have to break open the Piggy Bank. It was just nice relaxing and also having so many choices of Casino's, Resturants and people to watch. Sounds like you guys had a great time. good for you. Yeah, that's it, no smart remark.

RE: Anyone been to Traveland USA in Irvine, CA lately?

They have been talking for some time about putting an RV Resort in there. If I remember correctly, there was a booth at the Pomona RV show for the resort.

RE: Anaheim, Ca. Rally April 13-15, 2012

Happy belated New Year all! Here's the thing....Burnetta and I normally sit home, watch the Ball drop in New York and were in bed by 10pm. SOOO instead we did an last minute trip to Vegas. I had NEVER seen the "Fremont Experience" and I wanted to see just how bad the "Main Street Station RV Park" is/was. Make a long story short, I/we had the Best time...the Fremont Expereince is really something to behold especially for New Year's Eve(live music from about 8 different tribute bands, electronic display of the "experience" and live fireworks within the Mall!). The RV Park was adequate and served its purpose well at an amasing price. We're going to try to make this a tradition.....make your reservations Now. :B (ask me about it if you want any other info) Yeah, yeah, yeah. But did you win anything?
