RE: The electrical has me confused

roadtrucker.com also has some good prices. I f you use a 12v tv you use the least amount of power. If you use a inverter you will wast power by startins with 12v DC switching to120v ac then the TV changes it back to 12vDC. Just my 2 cents.

RE: "Alpha" Rubber roof

If you have a alpha roof. You must use the primmer before you put on the liquid roof. I did it in december. No leaks. But you must work fast, I did not use a roller. Usea a 18" wide drywall trowel.

RE: Batteries - Charging - Electrical - Etc.

Ok Devoredude, This is going to be a little long but direct.. Get rid of the optima, go to sams get 4 gulf cart batteries, make two 12v out of those. The to weat marine for a battery switch. That says bank 1, bank 2,or both. Hook that up. Then go buy a 25 amp charger or better. This way you can set the battery switch ob bank 1. Then take the portable battery charger on bank 2. This way you get double duty. This is what I have but I have 2 switches and 3 banks of batteries. Never run out of power. I also Have 12V, TV/DVD. Watch all the TV or DVD's that I want. Just one other thing, if you are not using the light SHUT IT OFF. Have fun hope I helped

RE: Yellowstone Advice

We stayed at Gardner, don't remember the name of the park. I think all the parks in the area are close but you are not at your MH for long just to sleep.Start early in the morning and try to get back before dark, lots of wild life on the roads at night. On your day trips pack your lunch, food is expensive in the park. One must do is the cowboy cookout it was a blast, a little expensive worth every penny. You must get reservations for the cook out because they are always booked so get them now. Never leave town without a full tank of gas/diesel not many places in the park to get it.Have fun. O and the Buffalo have attitudes.

RE: Decisions, decisions decisions Inverter gen vs solar

You might find it to be more energy efficient to try and buy things that are desichned to run on 12v. Instead of getting a tv that plugs into a 120 socket but is most likley a 12 or 19v device. Example starting from the battery 12v DC invert to 120v AC then the TV then converts it back to12c DC. Every time you switch from one to the other you waste amps. Laptops, TV's, and alot of other devicws are already will run off 12v DC. The only one that I have found that does not worl well is a coffee maker. That is wen I take the opertunity to start the gen, make coffee and charge the batteries a little. If you plan on boondocking alot you need both gen and solar. Only one thing is if you plan on being in the woods alot or in the north east or north west I don't think solar is a option. But a 200 watt panel would be nice to keep your 4 or 6 6v batteries topped off when your trailer is in storage. If you put solar on the roof go oversize on the controler and the wire gauge, then if or when you add pannels you just mount another. I personaly like the on board gen for the convience. I'm not a expert but have been dealong with solar, wing gen and gas gen, for manny years on my crusing sail boat.
I wish you luck and hope that I have help you solve your delimma.

RE: Decisions, decisions decisions Inverter gen vs solar

Why do you need a inverter? We RV alot and have never used one.We have a 12v TV/dvd. Start up the gen for a 1/2 hr in the morning to make coffee and that charges up the battery. then in the evening start it up again for 1/2 hr That has lasted roe 10 days at Quortzite.4-6v and 1-12v battery.

RE: Update using liquid Roof

The Alpha brand rubber roof. The Liquid Roof will not stick to it.You must use a primer. Takes about 2 gal to do 25 ft. The manufacture is up front about the alpha but the dist. that I ordered it from didn't make it that clear.Ther primer only has a pot life od 30min so you have to be quick.
