RE: Sound Proofing generator space

Just setting a piece of carpet on the ground below the generator will reduce the fan noise that exits the bottom of the generator. With extra deadening material I hope to cut the exterior noise in half. Pogoil.

RE: Sound Proofing generator space

This is what I plan to use. Found it at www.lobucrod.com. A 4 foot by 10 foot roll for $40 dollars delivered. They have a burn video on the site to watch and it appears to be burn resistant if not burn proof. My Onan installation guide shows my generator can be enclosed quite a bit. Pogoil.

RE: The 96 Monaco Exec I want to buy has Aged Out Tires...

At PPL motorhomes there are a few newer coaches in that same price range may want to take a look at their web site. Pogoil.

RE: The 96 Monaco Exec I want to buy has Aged Out Tires...

You will buy tires at some point. Buy them now. Besides when I bought our 1995 Beaver there were several things I replaced. Belts, hoses, tires, filters, fluids. All the items I replaced were to make me feel better and help on future break down. Pogoil.

RE: Why do this to myself??

Try www.northwestrvsupply.com. I checked their site the other day and they had many new dash panels from Monaoco coaches for what seemed like a decent price. Pogoil.

RE: WILL COST OF FUEL DESTROY MOTOR HOME TRAVEL

What is it with everyone? Fuel was much higher in 2008.

Lets start a positive topic!

After reading some of the Negative Doomsday posts on this forum I thought I would start a Positive topic post. I will start. I am looking forward to my 2012 travels and hope to see some new areas and enjoy time with my family. We look forward to new adventure and the people we meet. Seems the only time I really get to relax is when we travel in the MH. I really enjoy driving and do not take it as a chore. Happy Travels. Pogoil.

RE: Should price of gas prohibit me from purchasing?

Not sure where you have been but fuel has been higher than usual since about 2005. Pogoil.

RE: Thinking About Calling It Quits

A lot of speculation, negativity and such. Come on folks lift your head off the table. The cup is just not as empty as some of these posts will have you believe. Pogoil.

RE: Thinking About Calling It Quits

No. Spending money on fuel is part of this life style. Some say we are throwing our money away filling up our MH tanks. I say when we travel in our motor home we are the happiest. So many places to see and so many things to do. Many people do not even leave the town they are born in. I will not be like them. If prices on fuel rise too high I will travel close to home. Pogoil.

RE: Help please with 1992 Safari Ivory Diesel..

Tap gently on the step motor and where it attaches with a small hammer it may just be bound up. If it frees up oil all moving parts. Do it as you open and close the door. Not likely fried from removing the ground. Pogoil.

Rear tire balancing?

Do rear tires need to be balanced? Thanks for your input. Pogoil.

Toyo M154 Tires

Just checked the date codes for my rear tires 37th week of 2003. Wow I was off 2 years. Thought they were approaching 7 years old. Anyway I just called and got a price of $404 a tire mounted for Toyo M154 tires. They will go on the back as I replaced my fronts 2 years ago. I also put on the M154. They seemed to ride better than the tires I took off. They were GY 159. The rear I am replacing are Toyo 124z. Shop told me they will give me credit back on tires if they are in good shape. I cannot find a crack on them any where and look to have 80% tread left. At 9 years old I will get them off before trouble. By the way GY tires would have cost $1000 dollars more. That seems crazy to me. Pogoil.

RE: External LP tanks?

Camping World has what you need to connect to your on board tank. Walmart may have it too. Pogoil.

RE: Preferred color; LED rope lights

I like em. I think they put out a nice glow. Much less than the scare lights on many RVs. If something visual bothers me I just do not look at it. Problem solved. Pogoil.

RE: Propane smell coming from outside of MH

Sounds like the pressure relief valve is leaking and may have been damaged when it was over filled. Mine has a rubber cap on it. They usually will reset if they pop to release gas. (Not the fill valve.) You can check for leaks the best way is to use a squirt bottle with a little soap in it and some water. Spray all valves and hose ends with it and look for bubbles. During a fill usually the main valve is closed as well did he do that? If not it may be possible he could have burst a rubber line to the appliances. That would fail before the tank. Not sure if that is possible. Pogoil.

RE: Summer Trip Plans

I would like to go for 2 months but my business would suffer. 5 weeks will be stretching it. The states closest to us (Oregon) we have spent some time in and can easily see more of them in the future. Louisiana, Florida and the mid west is where we would like to spend our time. Pogoil.

RE: Summer Trip Plans

I was also thinking it was more like a job than a vacation. I may have to figure out a way to lengthen the trip. Pogoil.

Summer Trip Plans

Would like advise on a future trip. Hopefully this year or next. Oregon to Florida keys. Florida to South Dakota and then back to Oregon. Can drive 700 miles a day to Louisiana. And can drive that far through the mid west if needed. Must stop to visit a few days in Louisiana. I have seen much of the states to get there and do not need to sight see in those states. In Florida must see mom for a few days and would like to spend 5 days in the Keys. Then up through the mid west to South Dakota to see Crazy horse And Rushmore. We have been to Idaho and Yellowstone. Then back to Oregon. Is this a long trip for about 32 days? What else should we see? Sights between Florida and South Dakota through the mid west? About 7600 miles in 32 days. Sights in Florida? We can lengthen the trip if needed but not much. Our longest trip has been about 4000 miles to date. Thanks in advance for any input. Pogoil.

RE: Furnace use?

Use furnace a lot. Would fix mine if it went bad. You can save some by removing it yourself and take it in to be bench tested and fixed then install it your self. Most will come out in 15 minutes. Pogoil.
