RE: Towed vehicle safety cables vs chains question

Hardly anywhere to hookup extra cables to use for baseplate bypass. No frame at all on my minivan.

RE: Best Buy sales gimick...... or not?

Just bought a new 55" LED LCD at Best Buy. The guy tried talking me into a calibration. I asked to see the difference. He plopped in a demo DVD, but I couldn't tell the difference between calibrated and uncalibrated. They had two monitors set up, on on top of the other, and I still couldn't tell the difference. I did some googling and found some recommended settings for my TV. I put them in, the picture was absolutely horrible. I ended up just putting it back to factory settings. I did buy the Disney WOW, which from my research, is the best for non-professional calibrating. Anyway, I ran the DVD, but what I found is there is still a lot of subjecting setting. It all depends on the room lighting, sun shining, cloudy, etc... I like the factory spec picture and I'm sticking with it. It's easier to go with and I like how the colors jump out at me. Don't waste your money on a calibration from BB. This is the second time I have read that the buyer did not agree with the person doing the calibration.

RE: Cleaning a spark arrester?

What is it on? Where is it? Why do I need to clean it?

RE: How to clean Black tank sewer spill?

Yeah, well, most folks will probably do what the other guy posted, look around, see who saw the spill, and assuming not many saw it, jump in and drive away.

RE: need replacement oil filler cap for V10 engine??

Lets just clarify this. Some folks said go back to the RV builder. Some said go to Ford. I was under the impression the oil fill cover was a Ford product, part of the stripped chassis. Right or wrong?

RE: RV/Marine Gutters... anyone use them?

I wonder how long the black stays black in the sun.

RE: Upper Michigan Cinnamon Rolls and White Fish

+1 on Goodale's. We'll be at Aune Osborn (Sault Ste Marie) on the week of July 4th. There's a restaurant/pub right down the street named Antlers that supposedly has several hundred stuffed/mounted wild animals. Anyone ever been there ? Is the food any good ?Yes. So/so. It doesn't matter, the Soo has a paucity of good food joints. You can only eat so many Clyde burgers.

RE: Upper Michigan Cinnamon Rolls and White Fish

Too early for blueberries. The best smoked fish I found was in Munising.

RE: PowerMaster (autoformers)

I think Powermaster is still physically in CA somewhere. When I had to send my unit back, it went to CA.

RE: Blue Ox tow bar maintenance

You can also order a "tune up kit" and do the work yourself. It's not complicated. New washers, etc.

RE: Inccreasing gray water capacity

Of course you can add extra tanks but first you have to ask if your rig can carry the extra weight. My extra tank is only for campground use. If I can't dump it where I am at, I don't use it. Too much extra weight to travel with.

Safe-T-Plus 41-180 Tan

Who has the best price for this unit? Thanks.

RE: Inccreasing gray water capacity

I added a 30gal gray tank to my RV. When I fill my normal gray tank, I simply go out, open another valve, fill the aux gray tank, close the valve, I now have the normal tank to fill up again. When dumping, I just open 2 small valves to empty both gray tanks. I have 65 gal capacity now for gray.

I have a workable 14' electric awning you can have.

RE: HWH jack slow on one corner

New springs did not solve my problem. When I store my RV for extended periods, I put 6x6 blocks under the jacks so they only have to go down a few inches before they do their jobs.

RE: HWH jack slow on one corner

I had one jack, the left front, that would always take forever to come back up, but ONLY when it was warm. I never did replace that jack, I just learned to NOT put it down until I was sure of the spot I wanted to camp at, otherwise, I had to crawl underneath and pry it back up. Worked fine otherwise.

RE: Article with photos of new FWB and Navarre RV parks

I think the Navarre one is about 100bucks per night, waterfront. Ouch.

RE: Water pressure regulators that still let the water flow???

Hi, Home Depot has a pressure gauge that is already mounted to a hose connection, so you can test the incoming pressure when you plan on hooking up. If the pressure is under 45 PSI, no need for a regulator, and you will get a lot of water out of the fascets! Not a good idea. The pressure can vary throughout the day. I've seen campgrounds with large warning signs that their pressure can jump high (70 - 90)with no warnings. I have had the cheap regulators go bad almost brand new. I have a Watts now with a guage, wouldn't have it any other way.

RE: Take over payments

Take over payments? Sounds like the fast track to Judge Judy, except her limit is 5K, not the 26 you would pay. I would never pay off someones loan. If you can't get your own loan, don't buy it.
