RE: making the RIDE a little smoother

My F250's door jam sticker says 55 front, 70 rear. I too have Timbrens installed, but for some reason, I don't have the clearance between them and the axle that I should. That being said however, If rear tires are aired up to 80 and fronts between 70-80 for towing our 5er, yes she rides rough when 5er is NOT hooked up and a bit harsh when it is. Let air back out to 55 and 70 and rides good again. Are your Timbrens touching the axle all the time? If they are, contact Timbrens to see about getting a different Timbrens. My Timbrens are not always touching. At the moment I am at 55 in the rear etal...the ride is improved but the jury is out.

RE: making the RIDE a little smoother

In the door jam GM calls for 80 rear and 55 front... When not under load what do other 3/4 ton GMC's run?

RE: making the RIDE a little smoother

50K-new Michelen tires-80 psi rear.....And I am surprised that the Timbrens don't make a difference in the ride...I will reduce the air to the same as the front..That would be easy and it would be nice to learn something today.

making the RIDE a little smoother

I drive a 3/4 ton GMC with TIMBRENS and the ride is less than ideal. The Timbrens worked great when I towed my FW or have substantial weigh such as the hinge etc. But for the foreseeable future I will not be towing. The FW is cabled down to a concrete pad on the east coast of Florida. I have the OEM spring stops which can be put back on but before I do that I am going through the mental exercise of considering adding weight in the bed. I have thought about 3-400 lbs of sand in bags, water in plastic bins and concrete blocks to smooth out the ride. I don't want to add bags etc. because I may never tow anything again BUT I may be forced to run down there if a hurricane is bearing down on my Bighorn. Any ideas?

RE: New AC smells??

I talked to my tech about installing a 2nd A/C and he said he didn't think there was an A/C made any more that didn't have a thermostat link to it, so I don't know why your's runs all the time The AC turns on and off but the fan runs all the time. It was new as I watched him cut open the box.

New AC smells??

3 months ago we added a new 2nd AC over our FW bed. The AC turns on and off but the fan runs continuously. We knew that and that is just fine but the AC gives off a smell. I have not talked to the dealer yet but Wanted to do a little investigation first. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a smell to the coolant? The main AC does not have the same affliction.

RE: Class Action Suit - Samsung TV Capacitor

Is there a list somewhere with the effected TV model numbers? I think you will find all if you follow the links. Also you can call 1-800-samsung for more information.

RE: Class Action Suit - Samsung TV Capacitor

My round power was "lit" but it would not switch on. what are the symptoms of failing capacitors, in flat screen Tv's. Would this be the "flickering" I have read about?

RE: Class Action Suit - Samsung TV Capacitor

I spent $140 to do what the repairman said was "replace the blown capacitor and update everything else". You may agree with me that that sounds like so much******BUT I wasn't about to do it here on a picnic table on a Florida beach. Regardless I am pleased that Samsung contacted me because I would not have known otherwise. ITS COOL THAT THE FORUM CONVERTED MY CRA? TO ******.

RE: Suburban water heater-propane or electric

leaking water heater on Heartland Bighorn Well the dealer service guy just left telling me the problem was a plastic back-flow preventer on the hot (outflow) of the water heater. There was a small crack on the bottom of the nipple/preventer and the water was running down inside the insulation. He said that he had never seen anything but brass on "this" level of Fifth Wheel and especially with so many other connections that close to the heater. All these connections placed downward stress on the plastic fitting. He went on to say that the brass cost about $2 more and "oh by the way it evidently has been "seeping" for some time and now you will have to replace a portion of the floor in the basement." So Heartland saved $2 and I paid $102 for the replacement with brass AND now I have to pull the rubber up to see what rot awaits me. My compliments to Heartland. I hope I don't soon find another "sorry about that."

RE: Suburban water heater-propane or electric

Check the cone washer inside the connections,That's where mine was leaking I replaced both "cone washers" so will have to have a pro check it out..

RE: Suburban water heater-propane or electric

There is no water dripping from the pressure release valve. The water is dripping through the belly and running out in the basement.

Suburban water heater-propane or electric

I am having a problem with a leaking hot water heater and that is forcing me to ask some questions about how I use it. The leak is coming from under the tank (or at least out of sight). We have a Suburban propane and electric water heater which we have used almost exclusively in the electric mode. Even when we pull the trailer back and forth from New England we use mostly electricity. Now I am wondering if that was/is the right thing to do. Since many of you FULL TIME I thought that you might have the best reading about when/why you use propane or electricity. I use the RV about 4 months each year and the heater works great other than the leak.

RE: Leaking hot water heater

I replaced both of the "gaskets" and tightened as much as I could without tools and the leaks have stopped. I did the teflon alone and that didn't do it. My plumber at home who also has an RV told me to leave the tape but replace the washers and tighten as much as possible and use a channel lock for 1/4 more turn. So far so good.. thanks to all

RE: Leaking hot water heater

The water heater is a Suburban SW12DE and I purchased the FW new 2/27/09. And it is leaking at the threaded connections on the top and bottom. Isn't it suspect that both connections would go at the same time? Might there be any concern with the relief valve? I am a rookie in such matters

Leaking hot water heater

Water appears to be seeping from both the IN-FLOW and OUT-FLOW connections on my water heater. We use it only on electricity and it works great. It is a very slow leak and it showed up for the first time yesterday. I need suggestions on how to proceed before I hire a pro.
