RE: Willimsburg-Busch Gardens

IMHO the best choice for camping in the Williamsburg area is American Heritage.http://www.americanheritagervpark.com/ X2

RE: Good Sam Park in Williamsburg

Sorry your stay was not up to your expectations. I have to agree with the others above. We thought it was a very nice camp ground. We have stayed there many time and love it. I do not mind gravel roads. (When we were there they were gravel) I drive on dirt roads and those are not close to being dirt. I have a truck. Trucks get dirty. I clean my truck inside and out after traveling. Not a big deal for me. anyway, I guess there will be one more site available for the those of us that enjoy it there. Pat

RE: American Heritage/Newport City, Va. cg ???

I can only speak for American Heritage. Great CG. Very clean bath houses. My daughter is very picky about campground showers and she rates theirs a 10. Lots of grass. The sites are kind of close together but I have stay at places with closer sites. Pat

RE: 2005 Ram 5.9l Cummins?

No major problems with mine and it has 120,000 miles on it. Water pump was replaced around 70,000 miles and I just replaced the Ball joints, shocks and steering stabilizer. I agree with the other owners....Pulls great, 10-12 MPG towing, 17-19 without towing. I would seriously consider buying it. Unless there is any hidden problems, sounds like a great deal. Of course this my opinion is based on what I have read here.

RE: Spring Time Means Gittin er Redy

Got the cover off of the trailer and pulled away from the side of the garage into the driveway. Installed an Atwood power jack.(Should have gotten one years ago) Sometime this week I will de-winterize and sanitize. Lube the slides, check the tires and wheels. Wow,I'm tired all ready. I guess it's time for a beer.

RE: Oil changes - DIESEL ONLY

Same here - DIY - Oil $36 (dino) - Oil Filter (Fleetgaurd) $20 - 2006 Cummins 5.9L Total: $50 - $70 Plus I always send a sample off to Blackstone for oil analysis @ $25.00 just so I Have some sort of official record as the truck is still under an extended warranty. X2 except 2005 5.9 and no more extended warrenty. Black Stone to know what the state of the engine is in and hopefully catch something before it's gets bad. IMHO money well spent.

RE: Hatteras KOA or Camp Hatteras?

Camp Hatteras. They honor the KOA discount card. At least the last time we stayed there, they did.

RE: Post your tow vehicle pics here

Trust me...... It will live up to the hype. The one problem you will have is you will not be able to wipe the smile off your face the first time you tow with it. :) Congrats on the new ride.

RE: Fredrick Va to Gettsyburg Pa

It's two lanes interstate like. There are some cross streets but no traffic lights. Very easy to travel. In Frederick traffic can be heavy. There is some road work in the area. You should have no problems.

RE: 2006 Jayco Jay Flight 29BH ?

I caught my damage early. I was up on the roof cleaning when I found a soft spot. There was no water damage on the inside.(Luckily) There was no obvious signs there was a leak.

RE: 2006 Jayco Jay Flight 29BH ?

you folks with the roof issues, did you try to contact the roof manufacture? they are suppose to have a warranty. I have never done one but it doesnt look to be that labor intensive. If mine ever fails, I would look to the roof manufacture for a replacement and do the install mself. I beleieve ALFA made the roofing material for my trailer. Since there was no obvious damage or failure to the membrane, they said it was not covered. I guess as corporite good will, they picked up the cost of the materials. They were going to send the materials but I went with a different manufacture for the membrane.

RE: 2006 Jayco Jay Flight 29BH ?

Jayco makes a solid unit, the Jayflight is their volume model and is stick & tin construction. Like any unit that is 5-6 models years old you'll need to inspect the unit for current/previous leaks, wear & tear, and general condition. One thing to focus on is the roof. Some model year Jayco's had TPO roofs with a felt backing in the 2005-2007 years that can wick water. There have been several reports of folks with soft/rotted roofs, so this is something you need to perform a 100% inspection on. If there are any soft spots make sure you walk away. Ours had the roof membrane with the felt backing. Small undetectable leak damaged left rear corner. Insurance declined the claim and Jayco said no because it was out of warranty, and the extended warranty excluded roofs. Cost us $4000.00 to have a couple sheets of plywood and the rubber membrane replaced. Very labor intensive. While ours was being repaired, another Jayco a year older came in for a presale inspection. They found the same problem with that one. The seller and buyer agreed to a new price. Other then this issue, we really have not had many problems(No more then any other manufacturer). Like others have posted, check the roof very carefully and walk away or agree to alowe price if there is any soft spots. Good luck with your search. Pat

RE: Front Mount Hitch - Feedback Please

I have a front hitch and carry 4 bikes. No overheating. Not too many bugs. I drive mainly during day light hours but it does block the lights some but not enough to worry me. The only problem I have had is maneuvering in tight spots. The front of the truck (bikes) swings out more. I have removed the bikes and bike rake when trying to get into a really tight spot. I do strap the bike rake to the tow hooks on the front of the truck to keep movement to a minimum. Overall, I like the bikes up front, letting me carry more stuff in the bed.

RE: TORQUE WHEELS

I torque my trailer and TV wheels. I also draw a line with a sharpie on the wheel and nut. A quick check to see if the line matches up on the wheel and nut, then the nut has not moved.

Thanks, Will- My vote is for "Without". I like the black wheels with the chrome center hubs. Great looking truck.
