The OP realized the error of his ways and understands what he did wrong. I appreciate his candor.
The problem was identified and resolved. There's nothing to see here, let's just keep moving along.

RE: Please wash your hands

I generally think that you need to test your immune system periodically, but do wash my hands after dumping the tanks. I use heavy Atlas industrial gloves if it looks like there might be adventures.
While I was staying in Olympic National Park, I developed an eye infection and went to a walk-in clinic in Forks. The PA asked me if I had been hiking in ONP? She said that they had a lot of eye infections recently and tested the wooden handrails on the trails. They were impressed with the degree of contamination they found there.
Temperate rain forests like to grow/incubate things.
OK so next time I'll try not to touch my eyes.

RE: Ticks!

The best tip that I've heard for removing ticks is with a plastic spoon. Cut a "V" into the tip of the spoon, and gently slide it under the tick and pry up. Tweezers, unless expertly used, can squeeze more saliva into the bite.
There are commercial products that work the same way, but plastic spoons are really cheap and readily available. Visit the CDC site for more information.
I hate ticks, although Brad Paisley offers a positive take on checking for ticks.

RE: new microwave

Wow. Just got the MW out. We nearly had to take the entire side of the MH apart to get it out. The 2 screws (~14" long) that needed to be removed were behind several access panels. Braces, trim, and cabinet panels needed to be removed for access. It was never going to rattle driving down the road.
No pinched fingers, but I'm glad that I had my shipwright/mechanic neighbor for help, it was a 2 person job. He's used to working in tight spaces without using hyphenated words. I owe him and will pay dearly, since I will really need his help to get it back in correctly. He does amazing things for Black Velvet and BBQ.
I hope that there is actually a fuse that can be replaced to fix the problem after all of this!

RE: How long will the water stay good in my fresh water tank

We use chlorine bleach in the fresh water tank at the beginning of the year that we drain and flush. We have 2 filters, a charcoal filter for all water that enters the MH, and a 3M cartridge for a separate drinking water spigot at the kitchen sink. We fill water bottles from that to use for brushing our teeth in the bathroom. Dish and vegetable washing is from the normal water faucet. We've never had a problem with bad tasting or unhealthful? water issues in any of our MH's, and continually fill the tank as required by our useage.
wmoses... are you talking about distilled water left in your CPAP reservoir or from the actual store-bought water bottle?

RE: new microwave

I'll look for an access panel which is probably on the top rather than inside (I'll look closer for that), but since it's built in with a wood cabinet top, I'll probably need to remove the front face trim (at least at the top edge), remove a couple of screws, and lift it off the wall hook? Some apparently tilt forward for access, and some need to be completely removed??
I think that I'm looking for a few pinched fingers in the process?
Thanks for the hints.

RE: new microwave

My local appliance store/repairman said that it is a good thing that the MW quit working entirely, because it is probably just a fuse. One is for temperature, and the other for power.
I'll remove it tonight and take it to the shop tomorrow to hopefully have the fuses checked/replaced.

RE: new microwave

My microwave also quit working last week. Mine is:
Sharp Model R-1880LST over the range convection microwave with integral exhaust fan Serial No. 112961 manufactured in 2007.
It seems that there is a fuse that can be replaced (with some caution). I have a local appliance store investigating the issue.
We were using it (interior MH temperature was ~95F) for about 20 minutes, with a 5 minute rest, then another 8 minutes, and "bzzt". The circuit to the MW is fine?

RE: How to break the ice with our CG neighbors?

OK, I was wrong about finding interesting things to talk with neighbors about.
The best bait is to have a friend stay beside us in his tent, and park his Ferrari 360 Modena in front of our MH. There is mostly a line up of people to check out his camping vehicle... and looking for tow-bar attachments.

RE: North Cascades Highway to open on Friday

Actually we're probably just having lunch at the Duck Brand Inn in Winthrop, and might catch a few of the festivities, before we head off to Steamboat Rock SP to meet oldest son/wife/grand-daughter and their new truck camper for 6 days in the sun.

RE: North Cascades Highway to open on Friday

The WA DOT has made better progress than expected on opening Highway 20 through the North Cascades, and will now open the highway at noon on Thursday.
I had hoped to be a part of the opening ceremony when it was scheduled on Friday and get Cinnammon rolls from Clark's Cabins. Maybe next year.
Good news for the celebration and parade in Winthrop this weekend.

RE: How to break the ice with our CG neighbors?

I always try to get out and meet my neighbors and others... my wife says "He's out roaming in the campground".
Without thinking too much about it, I usually find something that we might have in common: similar motorhome, home state, equipment, etc., or something new that I haven't seen before and I ask about it. If someone is working on a project, I offer to help, offer tools, or comment about their progress. Same thing about their cooking. Cooking bacon outside in the morning is an easy way to make friends. Ask your neighbors about restaurants, grocery stores, or places to visit in the area.
We like to sit outside as much as possible, reading with a cup of coffee or drink, and look up and say hello to people passing by. Make yourself accessible.
We've also met people here on RV.Net that we have camped or traveled with.

RE: Electrical Problem

Be careful with planning on a 20amp circuit... some of the outlets have one leg at 90 degrees, which requires another adapter (dogbone) that is ~$70 USD, and not readily available.
It's better to plan on 15amp and carefully monitor your electron use.
