RE: How much propane in a weekend?

I can go about a season on one 30 gallon tank, I probably have to run the heat at night when it's in the 30's for a week or two out of the season. Running the furnace at night sucks down my 2 batteries in 3 nights if it's not really cold. Keep in mnd I have a small hybrid and burn more to keep warm then a small TT.

RE: New EcoBoost F150.

I got mine about 2 months ago and have just under 1k miles, have both HD and Max Tow. I got 12.5 towing 4000 lbs, about 50/50 backroads and highway thru hilly terrain. Straight highway is roughly 20 but drops quickly when you get off the highway. A full tank of gas has averaged 16 mpg overall for everyday driving. So far it's about 1 mpg better then what I was getting with my GMC 1500 5.3 both towing and not but with much better payload and trailering capability. Just put a cap on, don't know if it'll be better or worse as far as mpg goes.

RE: Ultralite vs. well, not Ultralite!

All the Evergreen models except their Ascend.
As in they are well made? My husband is intrigued by them. I do love the looks from the outside, but I'm not sure about the inside yet! I feel like it is one I really have to see in person before making any judgement. I'm excited to look at them though.
I thought the original Everlites were one of the best quality units I had seen when I looked them over a few years ago. Looked at one of the iGo line Monday while picking up some patsfor my HTT and found it is the same quality and build components as the Everlite but only 7'6" wide. The Everlites look sharper on the outside.

This link carries most of the small campers, it's starting to get dated but most are still available.

RE: Once More - Starcraft Bungee Discs

The normal way to remove rivets is to drill them out, you want to just cut off the outer bezel part from the shaft that goes inside the bunk. If you go lightly it should not spin, once it's cut off I just poke the inner part into the bunk and push it out of the way. Give me a couple hours and I'll let you know what size drill I use and what size the hole is after I get the old rivet out of the way as that's this mornings task.
Found the existing holes to be .250", so you can use that size or a snidge bigger if you have a full set of bits. Being aluminum it doesn't take much pressure to cut through the bezel. I haven't loked to see if you can get .250 rivets but would suspect so, I'm going with 8/32 nutserts. I did find a couple of the holes a bit beat up, stress cracks or some such so may need to go up a size for those. Good luck.

I'd look at replacement as it's only 5 years old.
Found this link that I had kept.

RE: Maximum I can tow safely with this truck

I agree with goducks10, look at trailers around 7k (8k if you have the heavy duty option) and see if you can find one you like. It won't be the max but it should be a weight you can comfortably tow. Having the same truck this is what I'd do. Stop back here with the specs before you buy if you wish.

RE: our Ecoboost is here!!

Maybe I'm missing it. I can see it's a Ford and don't think it's the 02 Explorer in your signature, so what is it?

RE: Lance 1575 WD hitch

I have in mind the 6,000 lb. Equal-i-zer Sway Control Hitch
(pt# 90-00-0600) from www.AdventureRV.net.
Does anyone know if the frame rails on the Lance 1575 require a larger/specific size link plate for supporting the "L" brackets?
The frame brackets on my Equalizer 600 can accomodate a 6" frame, maybe just a snidgen under. If someone with the Lance can measure their frame 32"-27" back from the coupling you'll know if it fits. My Starcraft is 2 holes shy of the max so I'd imaging you'd be fine. By the way the Equalizer works fine, I've never felt the trailer sway so it seems to do what it's supposed to. Having a wdh made a big difference on my old 2003 Ranger, the front end came up quite a bit. My trailer weighs 3500 lbs loaded up and for some reason the tongue ends up heavy even though the manufacturers stated weight was much less. Personally I wouldn't tow without sway control.

RE: WD hitch size

There is a hitch size calculator at the Equalizer site but for some reason it won't work as a link, if you want to try it look under the "about equalizer" tab.

RE: Equalizer 4 point

You are supposed to adjust the hitch height on the "L" shank to a height that makes the trailer front and back equal according to the Equalizer manual, your the other way around. You need to drop the hitch a hole or maybe 2 down the shank. On mine it doesn't work out to be exactly equal so you should err to the hole that makes the front end of the trailer a bit low. You can use the shank either pointing up or down, depending on your needs, you can also get them with different lenghts if needed. There is a calculator for the correct shank at the Equalizer site but for some reason I can't get a link to it to post.

RE: How Long Do Your Tires Last?

Something I forgot to mention. It was suggested here to ask for balancing, which I did this time. Seems they don't do it unless you ask.

RE: How Long Do Your Tires Last?

Hard to tell, swapped my first under warantee set after 2 years when they developed sidewall cracks. Then another set this winter when the treads took on a distintive scallop to them and found the plys pulling apart. Maybe 7k on the first set and roughly 14k (4 years) on the 2nd. The 1st 2 sets were Maxtow's, the new ones are Maxxis. The Maxxis look like real tires, wider flatter stance. The Maxtow's looked like ballons. very rounded tread wher it was not in contact with the ground.

At least you can adapt and keep getting out, enjoy the new trailer. You don't really have to go, I read the TT and the HTT forums.
