RE: Speaking of Crockpots...

I bought my West Bend one at a garage sale. You might check their website to see if they still make them.

RE: Cheaper - Propane or Electricity?

We have an electric blanket and sleep close together. The heat can be turned down and we sleep warm and cozy all night.

RE: Freeze Dried Food Question

Go down to a local store that sells mostly sports and camping supplies, they will probably have some. Buy one dinner and try it out before you send for any.
Because I cannot eat wheat, rye and barley there are many things I cannot eat so I prefer to do without them.
You used to be able to buy something to make your own dried meals.

RE: Felines in the MH

our cat did not go outside or camping until he was over ten. He loved it. He traveled on my lap or on top of his litter box in the back seat where he could look out the window. He would not use the litter box while the truck was moving.
He got used to being in the trailer while it was parked at home. He even learned to walk on a leash around the campground or lay, tied up, in his chair by the fire.
When he knew it was time for bed he would go to the door and sit on his leash to tell us he wanted to go for a walk around the campground first.

RE: Camping in the USA

In Natural Bridges SP in Kentucky I went into the womens room. There was a man stadning therer washing. Apparently in the Netherlands it is OK for men to use the women's room.
The host tried to explain to him that it was not OK here but she did not get thru to him.

RE: Favorite place to camp!

Almost a year ago when the same question came up, I thought I should not let people know the wonderful place I go. Than a book came out listing the top ten almsot everything in the country. It made the lists over and over. The next time we went up we had to take a tent site for the first day, the second and third day we had another site, My husband had to get up at six to get a site we could stay in for more than two days. Never again will I mention it to anyone and I hope other people who like to go there do not either.

We have two, one on top of the other. Both were from Walmart where we seldom shop but I have been very pleased with them.

RE: washing dishes in TT

Any water we use to wash in the sink goes down the drain but my husband usually does the dishes and he does dishes on the picnic table unless it is cold or raining. That water does not go down the drain.

RE: Food storage containers

We keep canned food in the truck and everything else in bear boxes. When we hike our backpacks are hoisted high in a tree.
We have often had bears in the campground but none have ever stopped at our tent site.
And in real bear country you cannot eat in the tent.

RE: Sandwich maker

I bought one at a Goodwill AS Is store for well under a dollar and found it did not work well for Gluten free bread but I do use it to make Corn scones, A cup of GF biscuit mix, a cup of corn meal and a cup of creamed corn. It takes about five minutes to get them done. My husband loves them and I make them frequently when camping. I have two, one for at home and one for the trailer.
My biscuit mix is not like the GF Bisquick so I do not have to add oil, it is more like regular Bisquick.
I would never have bought one for the price that was asked new. Used dozens of times and has not lost its coating.
I use it while camping for lots of things that I want to make while using the small oven.
I ams sure there are more things I could make but both of mine came without directions.
I should have mentioned, I add an egg or two depending on how dry it is.

RE: Whirlpool Washer and Dryer

Fill the washer with water, the detergent and the bleach, than the clothes after the machine is full of water. I would have to set a timer so I noticed it was time to add the clothes.

RE: Music or not at the camp site?

We camp frequently at a local state park, if your music is loud you get a visit from the ranger. I do not know if someone else has called him or he or she is just driving by but thank goodness.
