RE: Dometic Fridge works on gas not electric

Service Manual...RM2410 pg. 8 shows heating element resistance test.
If you have 120V AC power than suspect heating element is bad.

RE: Changing Water Heaters

Changing out a 6 gallon for a 10 gallon will require enlarging the exterior opening/reframing it and having enough depth.
6 gallon.......16W X 12.5H X 18D
10 gallon......16W X 15.5H X 21D
Atwood Brochure pg. 4 shows dimensions for RV water heaters.

RE: "No Signal" on tv

The switch is on "air" not cable, and the antenna isn't moveable. Guess we are just too far away to get reception.
A quick check at THIS website shows 'No Signals' available.
You can check further with a more precise address.

RE: Terrain Limitations

The limitation with a 5th wheel design is clearance between bed rail and over hang of 5'vr.
The greater the clearance the less chance of making contact BUT then you have the added concern of towing level......more clearance----nose high on rig OR you end up flipping axles, adding blocks etc. to get back to level which makes the rig higher overall (greater ramp angles, entry steps higher, overhead obstacles etc.)
So NO IMHO a 5th wheel is not better suited to off-road adventures vs a tow behind trailer.
But tow behinds have limitations also due to ball hitch design vs off-road adventures.

RE: Hunting

Just like to know how many Good Sam Members Hunt, and use their campers when hunting? It might be supprise to Marcus.
Why do you think he would be surprised?
He seems intelligent, aware of events, informed.....doesn't strike me as one who doesn't think, analyze, way options before making a decision.
Surprised......doubt it.
Oh, by the way I hunt/fish when I can BUT I'm not a Good Sam Member so don't count me in your survey.
Besides what Mr. Lemonis does or doesn't do has no effect on what I do or don't do. He does for his own and I do for mine.....simple.

RE: Help, My Flojet will not shut itself off.....

HERE is a manual for that pump.
Don't see any reference to being able to make any adjustment to pressure switch setting. It is on the end of pump.....look for a screw in center of head. If it's like a Shurflo you can make minor adjustments by turning screw clockwise to increase pressure set point.
In the troubleshooting section it mentions defective pressure switch as one of the possible causes of pump continuing to run.....pg. 3

RE: Slide roof sloping towards trailer

Depending on how well the slide seals work I'm thinking you are inviting water intrusion.
My slide out roofs are sloped away from body of 5'vr and I would have to be set up extremely tilted in order for the roof to slant towards rig. So much so that I would feel like I was walking around inside a carney side show.
Why not set it up level (boards under low side tires) and NOT have to worry about water getting past slide seals?

RE: Convert your RV’s propane water heater to gas/electric

DIY...very easy. Basically screw it in and supply it with 120 volt electricity. They work on Atwood and Suburban Water Heaters.
Atwood has an aluminum tank that won't rust, the Suburban has a glass lined tank and a anode rod to keep rust away.
They install in the drain.......if using on a Suburban that needs an anode (which is part of drain plug) how do you provide for corrosion protection?

RE: Where do full-timers spend the summer?

We travel all the time.....winter, spring, summer & fall...rarely staying in one place for very long.
Sometimes it's cold where we are...sometimes it's hot.
We enjoy experiencing it all.
That's why we went FT in the first place.

RE: Pilot/Flying J Discounts

Filled up at the Safeway Service Station couple days ago.
Flying J was $4.01
Safeway was $3.97
With their card......$3.67 just because I bought my groceries there which I was going to purchase anyway.
I can ALWAYS find diesel cheaper somewhere else then Flying J/Pilot or any other travel/truck center.........and I don't even have to look very hard.

RE: TV reception

When you got to new locations 'How did you decide which direction to aim antenna'?
The Batwing with add-on will pickup all available channels BUT seems to be more directional.
We FT and receive many channels when I get the antenna aimed in the correct direction.
THIS is one website (several available) we use to find channels available and compass direction when we get to a new location.

RE: Slide-out Issue

Well......I would remove those pan head screws and replace with tapered head wood screw so that they are flush with top of register.

Then repair/seal the underside of slide before moisture damage occurs

RE: Snow on slides OK?

Will you be living in the trailer all winter? If not, I'd bring the slides in just to reduce the exposure to the elements.
X2
Unless your using it, why leave the slides out?
Agreed
And IF using it during the winter I would remove snow from slide out roofs....
As you are using the trailer....heat can melt some of the snow that is in direct contact with roof....it then refreezes causing an 'ice damn' which can cause water (melting snow) to back up and leak into rig vs running off slide roof.
