RE: Power problems

Had to replace the converter in mine after experiencing the exact symptoms you've just described. Unfortunately they are not inexpensive.

RE: Travel trailer air????

One additional thought that you've probably already considered - Even though it gets cold during the night and early morning hours, I still keep the thermostat as low as it will go even if it means using a blanket. It is easier to keep one cool than to try to play catch up. Doing your cooking outside will also help, but again I think the biggest difference will come from blocking the direct sun from coming in the windows. The climate that enables us Southerners to camp during the winter months makes the summer months a challenge.

RE: Travel trailer air????

I'm from Louisiana, and unfortunately, the answer is yes. The A/C just can't keep up with the hot sun shining through the windows. To remedy the situation I bought a large roll of the reflective material and cut a piece to fit each window in my trailer. I just place the cut pieces over the windows that are getting direct sunlight and pull the blinds down to hold it in place. I also cut a piece that I velcro over the skylight. Finally, I bought some foam pillows from Camping World that fit in the skylight. This solution isn't necessarily pretty, but it makes a GREAT difference in the inside temperature........and I'll take comfortable over pretty any day. I bought the rolls of reflective material at Camping World, but I'm sure they are available at other places - Wal-Mart or auto supply places. Good luck.

A/C condensation

I am camping in the Louisiana heat and humidithy - LOTS of humidity - and condensation from the air conditioning unit is dripping into the trailer. Air is not ducted, so it is dripping from the unit itself and then being blown by the fan. Needless to say, I am not a happy camper right now. There is still some condensation dripping off outside where I would expect it. I recently had the top of the trailer inspected and resealed, but I suppose they could have missed something. I'm wondering what other possibilities you might suggest. Thanks so much.

RE: Coffee anyone?

I use a 4 cup Mr. Coffee when I have electricity. For times when I don't I have an old fashioned "drip pot." It has four parts: pot with handle, basket for the coffee, reservior into which boiling water is poured, and of course a lid. Makes good coffee and brings back a lot of sweet memories as well.

RE: Empty the waste tank?

If you think this might be a common issue...you might consider... Flojet RV Kit I use mine everytime I come home from a trip. Sometimes just to flush the system out... othertimes, to empty the tanks --- if it's wasn't possible in the campground for whatever reason. I ran a 2" pipe underground to my septic system... Some people run a garden hose through the bathroom window and right into the toilet or into a sewer cleanout. It all depends on your layout. I bought the Flojet because I always dreaded the dump station line on Sunday afternoons after camping on the weekend. As mentioned, I run a garden hose through a downstairs bathroom window and into the toilet. It is easy to hook up and use and works great. The Flojet is definitely one of my best purchases.
