RE: Winter Texans headed north

Some of Pawatts squitoes attacked me on his patio the other night. The Texas mosquitoes bite as good as Minnesota's. I have the welts to prove it!

RE: 2 door fifth wheel

We have a 2007 Cardinal 37RK2. Rear kitchen street side door going directly into kitchen. Curbside door entry by stairs to front. We enjoy being able to open both doors and getting nice breeze through living room. Rite now in Mission Tx, outside temp is 84. No air cond on and very comfortable inside. This option, on Cardinal, was only available on 2007 and 2008 models. We have three slides. Understand what I am saying, doors are on opposite sides.

RE: Eye Doctor in Nuevo Progreso, Mexico

I am interested in this topic also. When we went on one of our trips to Nuevo Progresso, there was a Eye Doctors office in a small strip mall setting in about the second block, west side of the main street. It had several other business offices around it. At the time I wasn't interested in new prescription lenses. Now I am and couldn't find the place on our last trip. I know this doesn't answer your question, but maybe someone will have an answer for you. If you needed a dentist or pharmacy you will have better luck!

RV show at mercedes

Went to RV show at Mercedes today. Was pleasantly surprised. Has been a lot of negative comments in the past here on RV.NET Only shortage was lack of Class A's IMHO. There was a good crowd, nearly all Winter Texans. My only complaint was the $5 admission charge, but I guess there is cost for site rental. Even had a fair amount of upper-end fifth wheels.

RE: Selling Camper...what if I owe more than I can get?

I am trying to understand- to me seems so simple. Lender gives borrower funds to purchace camper. Lender has done their part of deal. Borrower is current on payments, so far everything as agreed upon originally. Now things have changed for borrower. If things would have changed for lender would some expect borrower to "work with lender" so the lender would be in better position? This is from someone who has faced foreclosure, and worked their way out of it. (paid off original agreement to lender)

RE: Hit a Deer

We too live in deer country. When I got my last new truck(2008 CHEV HD 2500) I had dealer install new heavy duty grille guard. It really works! No deer hits! I guess I could say it works for elephants too, because I have not hit any elephants either!

RE: Do I have enought truck?

I have a 2008 2500HD DA. We pulled a 32ft HitchHikerII weighing 12000# loaded. We were maxed out on weight but it handled it fine. We have since traded up to a 37 RK2 Cardinal weighing 14000# loaded. Had planned on trading for a 3500HD but health issues arose. We are over on GVW rating and close on rear axle rating. A lot of tail wagging the dog. New 3500 SW Chev HD DA is arriving in Dec.
Was that a 5er?
HitchHiker and Cardinal are both 5er's

Purchasing RV lot

We have rented a lot in a Park in the RGV (Mission) for the past three winters and now are thinking of purchasing a lot in a different park. My questions are- would you buy a lot without staying in the park to see if you like it? When I asked seller about renting his lot to see if we liked the park before we bought it, he said there are other lots for rent. I don't want to rent someone elses lot for only a part season, and then move. There are improvements on the lot that I don't think would be allowed to be built now. It would be easier for me check this out during a rental period than to do over the phone 1400 miles away. This lot has been for sale since last spring, seller is not real motivated.

RE: E-470 I-470 Around Denver - warning

When a tow vehicle with no front license plate, pulling a trailer, with no transponder, passes can the camera "see" the trailer plate? Some RV's have bicycles partially blocking full view of the rear plate. Some states don't require a front plate.

RE: Sioux Fall.SD

somewhere north of there, Renner maybe???, had something to brag about IIRC, something about an indian chief escaping by jumping off a cliff or somesuch. :)
bumpy
The story, or Legend has it that Jesse James(outlaw from the late 1800's) was being pursued by a posse after the Northfield Mn Bank robbery attempt. The posse was pursuing him near Garretson SD. He had his horse jump across a narrow channel above a small river. The posse did not follow because of length of his horses leap and height above the river. It is marked as "Devils Gulch" on the north side of the small town of Garretson SD, about 15 or 20 miles northeast of Sioux Falls. Very interesting if you are into old west history. There is also a very nice state park near Garretson- Palisades State Park. The Falls Park in Sioux Falls has a great light show, when it gets dark. There is also a free trolley leaving the park every hour, that takes you through the historic parts of Sioux Falls. Falls Park is a free City Park-no camping, Very hard or nearly impossible to get into with a large Class A or trailer.

RE: Finally Pulling the Trigger

There was a post some time ago from some one who drove a commercial class 8 semi engaged in commerce during the week, that wanted to use the semi tractor to pull his RV trailer on week-ends. I replied that if the power unit was operating on commercial license plates he would have to follow the commercial rules while pulling his RV trailer. A commercial DOT inspector from Texas replied that he would not have to stop at weigh stations and DOT road checks because he was not involved in commercial business. This can all get very confusing. It is all going to depend on how the official you are dealing with interprets the "LAW" Everyone you ask could, and probably will have a different answer.

RE: RGV Mission Tx

Every year there are posts on this forum about how full the parks are in the RGV. I can only comment on the one we stayed at Seven Oaks, Mission Tx for the last three winters.(the OP's original question) According to many posters and conversations with other residents at Seven Oaks our park was always full or nearly full. However on our walks and bike rides through Seven Oaks there were always a dozen or more empty sites. When asked about the "full" status reports we were always told that those spots were reserved for others coming later. There were ALWAYS at least a dozen empty sites.
