RE: Feedback from current Dutchman Voltage RV owners

Not sure how to paste a link to this site but you can probably copy and paste this link to your browser https://www.facebook.com/pages/Voltage-Toy-Hauler/174877899198538?sk=wall&filter=2 Went to Facebook and typed in Voltage Toy Hauler, comes right up. We also are getting the Epic package and looking forward to hearing from other owners on this question. FYI on the info part of this facebook page: This Facebook page is not affiliated with Dutchmen RV or Voltage Toyhaulers The Voltage Page is all mine. Unaffiliated with Dutchman so you get real experiences by real owners. In 2011 the Voltage was the hottest Toy Hauler available(and still is IMO). But I think they were caught offguard with the demand and let quality slip. I believe they stepped up and addressed the problems. Also catch my review here. You will get an earful about the 2011 issues. Voltage Review Part 1 Voltage review Part 2

RE: Hammertown, USA (New Aerial Photo)

Are those bomb craters in the bottom of the photo? Yes, back in the day the Marine Corp used the lake bed as a bombing range.

Holy Cow, there must be over 200 RVs there. And those are mostly racers and vendors.

RE: looking for camping group

OK, you got me. How's this...all the fun groups are west of the Mississippi!? Granted, you've got mountains (we have highway overpasses), beautiful dunes (we have beaches with people who ought not to be at the beach), forests (we have weeds), and deserts (we have a dry season), but we have nice winding old Florida rivers perfect for kayaking, and overpriced beach camping suitable for, well, paying too much for beach camping! We do have some awesome state parks but I'm having a hard time even finding a campsite in them big enough for our Recon (not bragging about size here, but after all, size does matter!). Maybe it's time to head west! LOL! The west is the best, get here and we'll do the rest. Jim Morrison. Seems to be a lot of this going around. Kids are grown or full on into sports, parents are busy running them to games, too broke, or just tired of doing the same ole thing. But there are a few of us hard cores left huh Jax? x2 with the Hooli's and Kamprats. I've camped with a few and their all good people who enjoy the same kind of fun.

RE: Friends of Oceano Dunes & Kevin Rice go on the offensive

This is great, going on the offensive (sort of). Have some VERY close friends that live "down wind" of Oceano Dunes, and they're upset about all this. Upset with which viewpoint? Offroaders or the Eco's?

Friends of Oceano Dunes & Kevin Rice go on the offensive

Lawsuits aim to get dunes dust rule thrown out http://www.theadobepress.com/articles/2012/01/20/news/news02.txt Two lawsuits recently filed against the San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District aim to persuade a judge to throw out a dust rule proposed for implementation at the Oceano Dunes. Friends of Oceano Dunes, which boasts more than 28,000 members, filed the first lawsuit in county Superior Court earlier this month, citing numerous reasons the group believes a judge should throw out the dust rule. Advertisement Dunes enthusiast Kevin P. Rice filed his own lawsuit against the APCD on Tuesday, alleging Rule 1001: Coastal Dunes Dust Control Requirements, adopted by the Air Pollution Control District last November, is a violation of the board’s “clear and present ministerial duties.” The goal of the rule is to protect the health of downwind residents by reducing the amount of dust particles 10 microns in diameter — known as PM10 — blowing out of the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area, according to the APCD. The new rule requires that State Parks, which has operated and maintained the Oceano Dunes SVRA for more than 25 years, meet California particulate matter standards by mid-2015 or face $1,000-per-day fines for exceeding state standards at the park. Both pieces of litigation claim the APCD failed to publish an adequate notice of the mid-November 2011 public hearing held prior to the dust rule’s adoption, which denied the public its “due process.” The two lawsuits contend that the APCD also pulled a “bait-and-switch” by providing one rule to the public and changing it three days prior to the hearing. “In doing so, (the) APCD violated the law and denied the public's right to a proper hearing and to provide comment and make their voices heard,” Rice said. APCD Director Larry Allen said the district’s legal counsel has advised himself and the board to not comment on the substance of the lawsuits because of the pending litigation. “However, I can say that we are confident in the integrity of the rule and the lengthy process we followed for its adoption and strongly believe the rule will be upheld in court,” Allen said. A case management conference for the Friends’ lawsuit is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 22, in Superior Court, Department 9. No date had been set for Rice’s case as of press time. Friends also believe the dust rule is an attempt to eventually close the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area to all vehicle traffic, and that adoption of the rule exceeds the APCD’s authority. “The rule attempts to regulate the Oceano Dunes in a way that is not lawful under the California Clean Air Act,” said Jim Suty, Friends of Oceano Dunes president. A scientific study released by the APCD in 2010 claims that dust emissions from the popular off-highway park are creating health problems for Nipomo Mesa residents, although not everyone sides with the claims made in the study. That study and pressure from local residents prompted the APCD to push for adoption of the rule, while State Parks attempted to reduce dust emissions from the dunes through pilot projects, such as wind fencing in the open-riding area. ”The rule also is unjustified because there is no credible scientific evidence that OHV riding is causing any significant increase in dust emissions,” Suty said. “The real problem is that natural winds blow sand (and) that happens regardless of whether there is OHV riding.”

RE: Sierra Club loses Oceano Dunes case on appeal

Great news. Just curious, what part is the " Le Grande Tract." I'm assuming it's the east portion?? Its the northern most section right at the entrance that butts up to the closed hilly section all the way back to the fence.

Sierra Club loses Oceano Dunes case on appeal

More Great News! A Note from Jim Suty, Friends of Oceano Dunes board president! Dear Friends, I am very pleased to inform you that we won a very important lawsuit. The Sierra Club was trying to get the California State Parks to ban all OHV activity from the land leased from the county (the La Grande Tract). This land represents nearly one third of the Oceano Dunes SVRA. The Sierra Club lost its first lawsuit and then appealed the decision. Friends of Oceano Dunes intervened in both lawsuits and is extremely pleased that the recent finding cites many of Friends of Oceano Dunes attorney Tom Roth’s arguments. This is a significant victory for all who enjoy the Oceano Dunes. The Sierra Club likes to portray itself as a grass roots organization, but with a corporate office in San Francisco and office space in SLO with staff…it is far different than what John Muir envisioned. The Sierra Club is a powerful force who has worked hard to get sympathetic politicians in power. Currently the Sierra Club has been successful in getting a majority on the SLO Board of Supervisors and the Air Pollution Control District. Friends of Oceano Dunes has no paid staff, no corporate office, no local office…just passionate volunteers working hard to maintain continued access to the Oceano Dunes. Please go to our website (www.oceanodunes.org) and make a donation. Friends of Oceano Dunes is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit. Friends of Oceano Dunes is engaged in other legal battles and needs your continued support…please donate today. Sincerely, Jim Suty President Friends of Oceano Dunes http://calcoastnews.com/2012/01/sierra-club-loses-oceano-dunes-case-on-appeal/

RE: Has anyone ever .. ?

Should work for filling tires. As long as you're not trying to run air tools from it I don't see why you shouldn't do it. You confirmed my beliefs. X2, only reason for the tank is for the air tools or to set a bead on a tire.
