How to get XM service from toad into motorhome?

Hey all, I would have thought I could have figured this out with a phone call to XM earlier, but all they wanted to do was sell me on another subscription as well as buy some hardware to achieve my goal. I have XM subscription in my Chevy truck, which will now be my toad. When we go on trips in the moho, I'd love to have the XM service to play through either the dash stereo head unit, or through the receiver that powers the house speakers. I have 2 subscrptions for my truck and wife's car already, so I don't want to pay for another one. I have zero use for the XM being active in my toad (Chevy) when we're in the motorhome, so it would be great to be able to toggle the service from each vehicle, when I so choose.... I'm assuming I may need to cancel the XM feed that goes directly to my Chevy in dash head unit, and over to some mobile device I would carry into each vehicle, right? Anyone do this, and if so, can you let me know what hardware you had to buy and what type of aux hookups you need in passenger vehicle and coach? Thanks!

RE: SMI or M & G Brake Systems$$

So what did you all end up going with, between these two aux brake systems? I'm in need of a system as well, and these are my two top pics. I hear really good things about the M&G. The only thing I don't like about it is it's not transferable to another vehicle, but I guess that just means I'll have to run my duramax as a toad for another 5-10 years! :) M&G did just tell me that credit $180 in an exchange program if you ever need to buy another system for a new toad. So you take that off the $605 for any new (add'l) cylinder if you had to buy another. Anyways, I'm interested in any feedback you all have. I'll be towing anywhere from 7,000 lbs - 8,500 lbs (truck and rzr) whenever we need the toad. Thanks!

RE: Missing Club Members Wife So CA

That video shows she was found. What were the circumstances? Glad to hear all turned out ok...

RE: 1 Ton dually diesel not enough truck?

If MDT is what you want, then get it. If a 1 ton dually would better serve ALL your needs, considering all the times you'll use your truck not towing, then I think it's hard to justify a MDT. I love the idea of a MDT, but it's just so huge to use any other time you're not towing. I always said I'd just step up to a diesel pusher, before I felt the need to get a MDT to tow the 5'ver I want. And I just did :) With your toy hauler, if it were me, I'd do one of two things. I'd go buy either a new 2011 DRW Chevy or Ford. I've driven both, and I currently own an '05 LLY, and I can assure you these new trucks are light years ahead of our LLY's. You won't need to mod a freaking thing on them to tow that toy hauler of yours. Or, you can do what I did to my LLY which will certainly help your truck when towing. I've towed some of the knarliest grades with my setup in CA, OR and CO and it's been much improved since I did these mods: Inglewood Transmission (owned by Mike Lovrich) makes and sells a great Tranny cooler for our trucks. It's $400. After overheating 3 different times over the summer of '08, I installed this cooler, along with replaced my tranny fluid with Transynd, and synthetics in all the diffs and tcase, and the truck hasn't come close to overheating since then. Don't run the AC when climbing really difficult grades, just crank the heater with the windows open, and you're good to go. Last year, my tranny threw a code and started acting up. Unfortunately, my Banks screwed up my tranny (I don't hot rod my truck at all), so I ended up having Mike L. install a Suncoast stage III tranny as well. That was a painful 4k, but the truck is rock solid now. You don't have to drop the SC in the truck, but just be prepared for it when towing heavy like we do, ESPECIALLY if you chip the truck. I just run stock level on my Banks for the past few years. One thing to make sure of, is do the "ice pick" trick on your #2 and #7 injector harnesses. They may be a little loose which gives power loss and your truck runs a little rough. Adding the engine brake would be the other thing I would add. I haven't, but I certainly would if I would have kept my 5'ver. Sorry for the rant, but hope this helps.

RE: Mammoth Lakes June 24th - July 4th

Hobbs and Chris, Keep us posted on the plans. Hobbs, I've ready some really good things about Glass Creek over on the rzr forums. We had to cancel our MT vaca over the 4th, so we're looking to come up and camp over the week of the 4th. I hear that's the best ride in/ride out spot to camp, but it is dry camping. It's first come first serve, right? Am I dreaming if I think I can get anywhere from 2-4 spots arriving sometime around 6/30-7/2...? Any insight would be appreciated, I've only camped in Mammoth at June Lake RV once before.... Thanks fellas...
